We've just been to get sheets and duvet covers for the single. Tbh given how grotty looking the travel cot here is I think I'm happier with her in a bed with me anyway!! Smile The weather here is looking much cooler than at home too but still really pleasant which I'm taking as a bit if a bonus!! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 28/06/2015 18:11

Sorry to hear you didn't have great nights PenguinPoser and LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar, being away from home is tough but hope the rest of your trips are going well!

I crouched rather than bending to pick FiRaffe but it worked well. Still managed to pick more than ds1&2!

Thanks for your thoughts for Sam, just wanted it over now. Most of the time the anticipation is worse than the event. Once we have those results we will hopefully be able to relax into our three monthly check ups and not have to think about it too much if he doesn't need surgery.

Swimming was lovely again! He'd been sleeping for 2hrs so decided to take him out of bed and go before it was too late and he was awake all the way as soon as I took out of the car he started sucking his thumb and fell asleep on my while we waited to pay. Changed him and then dh and I did a shift sitting on the side holding him. Ended up taking him into the pool sleeping but once in he woke and loved it. Feed at the end, changed and home. Feed when home and now fast asleep again for a bit Smile

Made some yummy muffins with the strawberries today too as well as a run with my friend this morning, fab weekend Smile

The muffins look lovely cinnamon! You have so much energy it's fantastic. Good news on the swimming too. I haven't been brave enough yet.... Our public pool has open baby swimming from 3 months so hopefully in a couple of weeks we can go if I can get a swimsuit to fit!

Hope you have a better night tonight Littlegrey and Penguin

PenguinPoser · 29/06/2015 04:12

The nights are getting worse! I haven't done a 3.30am feed for a few weeks before today. Oh well. It's warm and I was thirsty so she probably was too. Hopefully she's settling now but her tummy is gurgling away Confused

Muffins look good cinnamon!

I also need to investigate public pool swimming so we can go with dh as he cant come to water babies. I'm a little worried dd might get cold though so need a wetsuit first.

cinnamongreyhound · 29/06/2015 06:56

Rubbish PenguinPoser! Sam didn't wake up since his 6pm feed so I changed and fed him 9.30 and he then slept until 5.15 but was wide awake so that was my day started. Just fed and is sleeping again now!

Wineandchoccy · 29/06/2015 07:44

I've got a cold, sore throat and all bunged up Sad DH is off this week so I've just fed dd and handed her to him so I can have some more sleep.

We are supposed to be going away on Wednesday and Thurs night but not looking forward to it disturbing DD's sleep.

Never mind the muffins cinnamon how lovely are your dogs, my brother has got a greyhound cross that looks and acts like Scooby doo they are great dogs.

penguin I hope tonight is a better night for you.

Does anybody use a sleepyhead? My friend was singing the praises of it and although dd sleeps ok she is still in blankets as she won't sleep in her gro bag so wondering if it's the snuggle effect that she likes.

cinnamongreyhound · 29/06/2015 08:15

Thanks wineandchoccy, the big one is an ex racing greyhound and the little one is a whippet terrier cross. Ds2 and I have a cold too, sucks Sad hope you managed to get more sleep!

kismac · 30/06/2015 05:03

Muffins look great.

Hope your colds pass quickly, Wine and Cinnamon.

Sleeping has gone to pot. She woke after 3 hours on Friday, then 4 on Saturday and now we're back up to 5 hours but we were getting 7 hours. Don't know what's went wrong. She has been bit grumpy but was in a great mood today but nope only 5 hours.

FiRaffe · 30/06/2015 06:20

We had a bad night (for DS) too a couple of days ago but last night he went 10 - 5.30, although grunted and woke me up at 4!

He has such bad writhing wind at night it really upsets me. I wish there was something we could do.

Hope you've had a good night all.

PenguinPoser · 30/06/2015 07:22

Hope the colds are better soon!

Well it's meant to be so warm and sunny today that I'm going to go for a walk this morning. Then have appointment to take dd for her meningitis b vaccine this afternoon. We are getting the BBQ out for tea - best not waste the weather!

FiRaffe · 30/06/2015 09:04

I think i'm going to hide inside today and keep all the windows open! I'm sniffling so much with hayfever and DS seems to be struggling too so not sure sitting in the garden is a good idea

Hope you have a good day Penguin and the jab isn't too bad

Jetpackplease · 30/06/2015 12:56

Wine we have a sleepyhead. I got it two weeks ago second hand off eBay for £50. DS was doing 12-3.30/4am and occasionally until 5, but he was hitting his hands on the side of the crib a lot which I thought might be disturbing him desperate mummy clutching at straws He is now more regularly doing 12-5/5.30. I don't know if it's a coincidence or if the sleepyhead has made the difference, but I'm not taking it away! I'm also trying to get him to use it for daytime naps on the sofa to wean him off sleeping on me. It definitely keeps him more enclosed, which he seems to like.

Now I just need to see if I can persuade him to go to be any earlier than midnight...

Wineandchoccy · 30/06/2015 13:49

Thanks jetpack I'm watching some sleepyheads on Ebay so might put a bid in and see if dd likes it.

God it's hot today isn't it, dd is playing on the floor in a vest I feel like stripping off and joining her Grin

Breastfeeding in the heat isn't much fun is it, I don't know what to wear so that I have access to my boobs and dd is like a hot water bottle so we both end up all hot and sweaty. On a better note my cold is much better I've just been left with a cough which sounds like I am a 40 a day smoker Blush

I hope you feel better cinnamon

cinnamongreyhound · 30/06/2015 17:03

Sorry about your bad night FiRaffe!

I totally agree wineandchoccy, very sweaty feeds as well as along carrying! Luckily one of minded littlies goes home at 3 so afternoon school run Sam is in the pushchair!

Better safe than sorry where getting more sleep is concerned jetpackplease! I'd keep it too!

Well what an afternoon! One stroppy child not wanting to come out because he knew he was in trouble, ds2 hurt his finger so wouldn't ride his bike, hung it off pushchair to stop moaning. Another child has come back from a trip so had huge pull along bag, stopped to help her pushchair tipped up, Sam and minded baby crying but fine, got home and woke Sam up to check him over again but fine. Got kids snack sorted and two have gone home. Fed Sam and he's now sleeping so I can sit down, just want to sleep!!! Plus he's got a little snotty nostril so must have my cold too, poor little thing!

FiRaffe · 01/07/2015 05:45

Hope Sam is okay cinnamon. DS is really sniffly too - we don't have much success clearing it for him

Wine- I've found feeding DS cross cradle on a cushion means it isn't too hot for either of us. My hand is there to catch him if he rolls but he's generally on his back/side so doesn't need holding. Might help, but it is so hot!

Going to hide in an air conditionined cafe today!

PenguinPoser · 01/07/2015 07:20

Hope you're better soon cinnamon and that Sam doesn't have the cold too!

Wine you're right about feeding in the heat... Sweaty! Our bedroom finally cooled down to 21.5 degrees at 5am, dd actually had chilly legs when she got up to feed. That was with her in a long sleeved vest and 1 tog sleeping bag. Can't win as it was so warm when she went to bed she couldn't have had more on! I think it's meant to be even warmer tonight. Possible thunder storms forecast here this afternoon Confused I don't like them but it would clear the air.

Second baby massage class this afternoon - hope she still likes it!

Wineandchoccy · 01/07/2015 10:22

We are going away for 2 nights today in a Caravan it looks like we are going away for a month with all DD's stuff.

Dd woke at 3am for a quick feed but quickly went back down, she slept in a vest with a muslin over her and we had a fan on but I put a cellular blanket over her after her feed as she felt a lot cooler.

Jetpackplease · 01/07/2015 12:02

DS and I are staying at my parents' for 3 nights from tomorrow as DH is off on a stag weekend - we are taking a whole carload of DS' stuff, it's ridiculous! How can they need so much?!

cinnamongreyhound · 01/07/2015 13:09

Feeling better thank you but still bunged up. Ds2 is horribly emotional and Sam is really snuffly but happy and still able to feed well.

Enjoy your trips wineandchoccy and jetpackplease!

Have no minded children 9-3 tomorrow and ds2 wants to go swimming, bit worried about the two of them on my own but he can stand in the baby pool and it'll be nice to cool down. Need to shop at some point too, boo Sad

PenguinPoser · 01/07/2015 17:54

Can't remember how old your ds2 is cinnamon but my local pools have a 1 adult per child under 5 rule so make sure yours is ok - sure you're pretty clued up about that kind of thing though Smile

Have a great time wine! And jetpack you too -we were away one night last weekend and looked like we were going for a month with the amount of stuff!

Hope everyone is surviving the heat. There was a thunderstorm here which has helped a little bit.

cinnamongreyhound · 01/07/2015 20:43

He's 4 PenguinPoser, you can have 2:1 under 5s in the baby pool but 1:1 in the main pool so won't be able to go in there but dh came home and said what are 'we' doing tomorrow and has taken a surprise day off, yay!!!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 02/07/2015 00:12

It is silly how much stuff they need. I was amazed we got stuff for all 3 of us for a week in the car! Most days we take DD in the sling but take the buggy out for the day too loaded with all the stuff we might need during the day!
