Pram walk sounds good. There's one here on a Friday that im thinking of trying next week.

Enjoy baby massage. HV has put my name down for a class so just on waiting list at moment.

Sleeping has been a bit weird here. We get 7 hours then the following night 5 hours and then last night 6 hours. Think it's a growth spurt but Im confused.

Off to baby clinic tomorrow to get Leah weighed. Not really in mood to go but HV wants to have her checked cause she dropped percentile at 6 week check.

We're going on a mini holiday, well kind of. DH is talking at a conference so we're going to stay over on Thursday and Friday night. Quite excited but really hope she settles ok in new surroundings.

FiRaffe · 24/06/2015 06:03

Sorry my parents are down so difficult to get on and we had been getting 10.30 - 6...... unlike last night, although we still had 4 hour stints so I suppose I shouldn't complain!

For those of you doing baby massage just keep at it. Even if your baby feeds the whole way through, DS did at first but by week 5 he went through the whole massage start to finish!
(We thankfully had nappy on with the paid course. We did a trial with the hv and that was nappy off... He wee'd all over my jeans!)

Hope you all had good nights. I'm off to swaddle and hopefully get another couple of hours before weigh in!

cinnamongreyhound · 24/06/2015 07:10

Love the sound of prambles wineandchoccy and glad you met new mums!

Sounds lovely kismac, I don't think they're massively aware of where they're sleeping so young so hopefully you'll be ok.

Hope you're having a nice visit PenguinPoser! I was the same with ds1, despairing at the first session but he did the whole thing by the end. I just had a Muslin nearby for wees, put it over him when needed then in a nappy sack to take home!

We've had another 10-7 night, I was worried yesterday as he didnt seem to feed anymore to make up for it! Now he's mastered thumb sucking his naps are longer too as he resettles, started to miss him yesterday pm!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 24/06/2015 07:11

Sorry my last comment was for you FiRaffe!!! My brain isn't any better on a full night sleep Blush

PenguinPoser · 24/06/2015 20:56

Woo dd loved baby massage! We did legs and tummy today. Next week chest and arms.

I honestly think your ds will wake if he needs feeding cinnamon Smile I had similar worries though.

Kismac hope the mini holiday goes ok. We are having our first night away from home at the weekend as we have to be somewhere early on sun morning staying sat night at my mums partners house which is an hour closer to where we need to be. It's for w driving experience I got DH for his birthday last year. Hope he enjoys it. I am a bit anxious about how dd will settle too.

cinnamongreyhound · 25/06/2015 08:12

That's great news PenguinPoser, it's such a lovely thing to do together!

Sam has just fallen asleep in his bouncy chair in the kitchen when I was getting breakfast! That's a first but the washing machine was on so maybe it was a white noise thing? He woke at 6 and had a massive feed, he's had a lovely bit of time with do before work and bath with his brothers and is now settled pretty easily. Good start to the day Smile

PenguinPoser · 25/06/2015 08:38

Hope your day continues like that cinnamon! You're right the massage was a lovely thing to do. DD just lay there staring at me and making cooing noises for the first 45 mins. Hope she still likes it next week.

Wineandchoccy · 25/06/2015 10:16

Glad your dd enjoyed baby massage penguin

My Mum used to put me in front of the washing machine cinnamon

We had a really good night dd slept for 7 1/2 hours then another 4. She is having a mammoth feed now so hopefully she will either lie in her Moses basket or under her gym whilst I tidy up.

FiRaffe · 25/06/2015 21:29

Great news on the good sleeps ladies. We had 11-4 then 5-8 so not bad, hope for the same tonight but we're definitely suffering from a really snotty nose and problems breathing. We both have hayfever so I hope it isn't that for him, but quite possible.

One more day of parental disruption then hopefully we can get back to our routine. It is definitely disrupting our days but nice to have visitors. Has anyone worked out the best way to handle it?

cinnamongreyhound · 25/06/2015 21:32

No one wants to visit me FiRaffe Wink so no advice!

Had a few more feeds today so I'm feeling happier although he's still had some decent sleeps, went down at 9 again so we'll see what tonight brings.

FiRaffe · 26/06/2015 06:18

Glad you're happier cinnamon. Hope you've had a good night

cinnamongreyhound · 26/06/2015 17:58

Sam is going to have to be sedated for his mag3 test, I'm feeling very emotional Sad

Wineandchoccy · 26/06/2015 21:40

Oh cinnamon you are allowed to be emotional he's your little boy but he is a fighter with a very strong Mummy Flowers

My SIL came to visit today and she over stayed her welcome and didn't get the hint to go home, firaffe I feel your pain with visitors.

DH is off work for a week so it will be nice to have another pair of hands to help with dd.

FiRaffe · 27/06/2015 13:08

That will be lovely Wine. I'm so looking forward to DH having some holiday. We're going to my parents in the summer but he might just join us for some of it.

We had loads of sleep last night - 10 - 4 (but that was wind rather than wanting to feed), then 6 - 10! Feeling pretty good today.

Hope you all have a nice day

PenguinPoser · 27/06/2015 13:27

Sorry for a couple of days absence - yesterday was really busy! Met up with some other mummies previously from this thread then went to a concert in the evening. Didn't get home until 11pm. Had to express before bed then dd was up at 6. Yaaaaawn!

Have your parents left now FiRaffe? Hope you can get back into your routine.
Cinnamon I know you said on FB about the mag3... Hope it's over and done with soon so you don't have to worry anymore. And at least it prevents him potentially needing it repeated. I know that doesn't really help any I would be emotional about it too.

Our first night away from home tonight before DHs driving experience tomorrow. Fingers crossed it goes well!

FiRaffe · 27/06/2015 15:27

Yep they went home this morning. Having a lovely chilled day with a very sleepy baby!

Are you staying somewhere nice Penguin?

cinnamongreyhound · 27/06/2015 17:25

Yay for the sleep FiRaffe!

Sounds like a nice day even if it was tiring PenguinPoser. It's not until 29th July, partially my own fault as they wanted me to go to the sedation clinic Tuesday and I said no. I don't want to try to take loads of kids to the hospital and I'm not prepared to only give my parents a days notice of time off unless it's an emergency so the next clinic is two weeks later then the guy who does the mag3 only comes to our hospital on certain days so we wait.

I was run director at parkrun this morning which is hectic but lovely especially on such a nice day. Got home fed everyone and got kids ready, walked dogs and went to pick strawberries. Just fed Sam now we're back and got to do homework then want to chill for the evening as I'm shattered! Going for our second try at swimming tomorrow, hope it goes as well as last time.

cinnamongreyhound · 27/06/2015 17:26

Oooo I somehow didn't read the last bit, a night away, how exciting Smile

PenguinPoser · 27/06/2015 18:58

Hope the swimming goes well tomorrow cinnamon! I think it's sensible not to have to take all the children to the clinic too if you can avoid it.

Glad you're having a chilled day FiRaffe Smile

We are staying at my mums partners house tonight as it's 50 miles from home and only half hour drive to where we need to be in the morning. Fingers crossed dd doesn't realise we aren't at home and that she's sleeping in the carrycot not the crib! We are on a sofa bed so don't know if I'll easily be able to bring her in with us if she doesn't settle!

FiRaffe · 27/06/2015 22:50

Fingers crossed Penguin.

Strawberry picking sounds fun Cinnamon. I loved it before DS arrived, not sure i'm confident enough in the sling to go to our local one at the moment.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 28/06/2015 00:02

Hope your night is going well penguin and your dh enjoys his day tomorrow!

Sorry to hear about sam's tests cinnamon. I can't imagine the worry, but he seems like a fighter!

Hopefully you've had a restful day FiRaffe. Smile

We are currently on night one of our summer holiday. Trying to boob DD enough to put her down in the travel cot supplied. We've brought her crib mattress and put it in there but not sure she'll be willing. Unfortunately the bed here is really soft so not happy to Co sleep... There's a single in the room too that's a bit firmer so we may end up on that, despite there being no bedding for it! Good luck for restful nights everyone! Smile

PenguinPoser · 28/06/2015 04:50

Hope you managed to get her down littlegreycat. Have a lovely holiday! I'm in the same situation with the bed. Dad woke at 4 and I've fed her and trying to resettle (not optimistic about it as her tummy is gurgling away). At home I would be co sleeping right now but we are on a sofa bed that kinda rolls together in the middle so wouldn't feel safe with her in between me and dh, and it's a bit cramped to have her on the outside in case she falls off. Oh well. Need to be up in an hour and a half anyway. Hope I can get a little more sleep...

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 28/06/2015 06:35

Oh no! I hope you managed to get back to sleep penguin. We have ended up in the single bed as I did 4 feed to sleep/wait for floppy are cycles that failed and it was after 1am so I gave up! she slept for 5 hours but is now wide awake after a feed giving me giant smiles!! cute, but I'm so tired!!

PenguinPoser · 28/06/2015 11:07

Just re read my post clearly meant dd woke up not dad haha.

Aww the smiles do make it better to an extent don't they littlegreycat. Sometimes you just want some more sleep though. I managed to get about another hour ish so not too bad. We have been for the driving experience which dh loved off to do some shopping and lunch now - as long as dd is happy with the plan! Will have to boob her in the car before we get out again!

FiRaffe · 28/06/2015 13:06

Sorry for your bad nights ladies. I'm going away in august and will have to try and get DS used to the travel cot before we go. He might be out of his moses basket by then anyway!

It's a grotty day here but compared to the crazy temperatures coming this week I think i'd take this any day.
