Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 16/06/2015 23:20

I only ever go shopping with the sling these days wineandchoccy, purely for that reason! We had a nice wander in the shopping centre today. Also the fact she hates the pram might be something to do with it! Wink

So sorry you're still having problems FiRaffe. I really think most people would have given up by now!

Have managed to book us onto a water babies course that starts on September. it's a Sunday afternoon so will be lovely to have some mummy daughter time after she's spent the week with daddy!! I've also booked an introducing solid food workshop for august which I'm hoping will be useful!

cinnamongreyhound · 17/06/2015 02:58

When are you going back to work LittleGreyCatWithapinkcollar? Is it actually sept or is that just when the course starts? Hope it's good fun!

Well that wasn't long! Pretty much 3hrs. Ds1&2 are sleeping at my mums tomorrow as she is taking ds1 to school due to 9am hosp apt so dh and I are going to attempt the cinema with baby! We are up with him until 11 anyway so it's not like we're missing an early night! Hope it works out ok!

PenguinPoser · 17/06/2015 05:58

Yay for water babies littlegreycat it really is fun Smile although I had to get my hair wet this week which I hate! The instructor could tell I didn't like water much but warned me that dd might pick up on it and she already cried after going underwater so I need to be very smiley and positive with her.

Hope you've got some more decent sleep cinnamon. What are you going to see at the cinema?

My breast pump is just the manual medela one. I don't use it that much but have recently changed to the bigger funnel as I felt the other one was too small - although maybe bleeding nipple was a sign that this one isn't great! Might go back to the smaller one again and see. I only express a couple of a day to add to my stash so doesn't seem worth getting a new pump.

Wineandchoccy I know what you mean about getting the pram round shops what a nightmare at times! I'm quite bad at driving it anyway Blush

Suspect I'm not going back to sleep Sad dd still feeding and DH alarm goes off in 40 mins. Oh well.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 17/06/2015 09:24

I love water/swimming (though not the walking round in a swim suit part!) penguin which is why I'm talking her, not DH!

I'm a teacher cinnamon so going back in July but then have the summer holidays off again before term starts in September.

cinnamongreyhound · 17/06/2015 10:24

Ah was it you posting on fb group about your returning situation?

He woke at 7 which was a surprise after having settled into sleeping until 10am Shock asleep since 8 though. We are going to see Spy, dh is a massive Jason statham fan and it looks funny, must book some tickets!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 17/06/2015 10:52

Yes cinnamon that was me! Now waiting to hear from work about my proposal!

Isn't it annoying when they seem to be in one routine then all of a sudden they decide on a new one!?

FiRaffe · 17/06/2015 13:43

Water babies sounds fun. I might be going with the nct girls to a swimming course with the babies once they are all 12 weeks. It will be nice having reinforcements!

Has anyone's baby poo started really smelling? It wasn't too bad at first but now it's really stinky!

cinnamongreyhound · 17/06/2015 16:43

Have no idea how it works with returning to work when you're a teacher LittleGreyCatWithapinkcollar, hope they accept your proposal. Have been self employed since ds1 was 14 months and he's now 8 so I'm sure a lot has changed since then.

We get some proper stinkers FiRaffe and some not too bad. Nothing like once they wean so appreciate the sweetness now Wink

FiRaffe · 17/06/2015 17:47

Hehe cinnamon, i've heard horrors on weaned baby poo!

PenguinPoser · 17/06/2015 20:55

I think the sweet bf baby poo is quite pleasant smelling Blush not looking forward to weaning poo!

Wineandchoccy · 17/06/2015 22:14

Thank goodness it's bedtime today as seemed a really long day, the weather has been rubbish as well. Dd has had lots of naps today which has meant I have got lots of jobs done but I have got cabin fever so hopefully we can go for a long walk tomorrow if the weather is better.

My friend brought her 16 month old round last week and changed his nappy just before my DH came home from work his face was a picture when he smelt that Grin

I hope everyone gets a good night sleep

cinnamongreyhound · 18/06/2015 01:15

Up for the first time now but then his last feed was at 8 typically!

Poo talk always males me smile, motherhood turns us all into the same thing, crazy women obsessed with waste products!

FiRaffe · 18/06/2015 05:46

Oh yes cinnamon. The conversations we have now that just aren't usually accepted in society

It used to smell okay Penguin but now it's shockingly stinky! Ah well, i'd rather it were out and he is a happier baby.

Hope you can have a nice walk Wine. We're meeting up with one of my friends who lives in Cornwall and hasn't seen him since he was 2 days old. Can't wait to see her face!

kismac · 18/06/2015 06:25

Eh...she's just slept for 8 hours. Last two nights she only slept for 5 hours but her stomach was bothering her. Had a green poo yesterday morning but back to normal now.

First day out on our own and I crashed the pram so many times but it was a good day. 6 week GP check which went well. She was very smiley. Going to try and go to breastfeeding group today.

cinnamongreyhound · 18/06/2015 07:43

Sounds good kismac! You'll get used to driving it soon Wink

Enjoy FiRaffe!

Sam was up at 6.30. Off to the hospital in half an hour, very strange without my big boys this morning!

PenguinPoser · 18/06/2015 08:53

Kismac I still crash the pram all the time Blush don't know how! Mainly underestimating the width I think.

Hope you have a better day today Wineandchoccy. Weather looks better today too so I'm hoping to get out for a walk too. Don't have any other plans until later, my mum is going to look after dd for a couple of hours this evening so me and DH can go for tea together Smile I only have 4oz milk expressed though so might need to either try and express some more or defrost a couple oz.

I might also look for a heathy recipe for something fun to cook I really fancy making some cakes or something. Diet going well as you can tell Grin haha.

Best go and get dd she fell asleep after 7am feed and I can just hear her stirring now on the monitor. However the cat is on my knee so I'm a bit stuck! She slept in the cot last night (the cat not dd!) oh dear Confused

PenguinPoser · 18/06/2015 08:54

Just to point out dd was in crib in our room not in with the cat!

FiRaffe · 18/06/2015 09:23

Hehe Penguin, cake is always good. You are still needing calories, best to lose it safely and slowly!

Kismac, that's amazing sleep! We had a comparitively rubbish night, I am so tired!

Hope today goes well cinnamon

cinnamongreyhound · 18/06/2015 14:17

No really great news from hospital the nephrologist thinks it's unlikely that the right kidney will have any function given the level of reflux and apparently the meaty part of the kidney is minimal. They have slight concerns over his left as it took a while for the levels to come up when first born, because of his thickened bladder wall they think there was an obstruction that cleared itself that may have caused that but need to check the obstruction isn't in the left kidney. So we wait now until his test in July to check the left kidney but he's cancelled one as he feels it's pointless as right kidney is too damaged. Prognosis long term is surgery in left kidney if it has an obstruction, a scan at 2 and antibiotics continuously until then, sodium supplements for 3-6 months, 3 monthly hospital checks, open access to ward at first sign of uti and another test at 5 to see if 'his kidneys will last him or if they'll run out' Sad. Unlikely to remove right kidney unless it starts to cause problems. So best case scenario seems to be one functioning kidney, worst is one with an obstruction that needs operating on and one removed. Feel so sad for my boy that he will always have to be careful and just wishing so much that the left one has recovered from a difficult start and will last him his lifetime but also relieved that the trips to hospital are going to reduce dramatically and they are happy that he's stable enough to see every three months.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 18/06/2015 19:16

Awww cinnamon, poor little chap. Fingers crossed for best case senario! x

Wineandchoccy · 18/06/2015 19:30

Sorry you haven't had better news about Sams kidneys cinnamon but good news about less hospital visits.

Eleanor has put on 6oz in 1 week so HV is happy this week Smile

I'm going to have to wake her for a feed soon because she is still asleep in her pram and my boobs hurt!

FiRaffe · 18/06/2015 20:10

Sorry it isnt better news cinnamon. At least there is a plan though.

Great news on the weight gain Wine.

Have a really screamy baby today. It's so tough to see him so upset.

cinnamongreyhound · 19/06/2015 04:58

That's great Wineandchoccy!

Hope your screamy baby wore himself out FiRaffe! Sorry he wasn't happier.

I'm just up now since 10.30 Grin 6 hours sleep, yay! I actually put him down at 9.30, was up again at 10.20 and then slept.

kismac · 19/06/2015 06:14

Sorry it was better news Cinnamon. Good to hear they have a plan in place and the hospital visits will reduce down.

Great weight gain Wine.

Oh no Fi, hope your little one has settled.

Just had 7 hours. Woo! Just wish feeds wouldn't take nearly 2 hours though!

Went to Breastfeeding Group today which was good. Nice bunch of ladies. Meeting friend for lunch and stroll round Botanical Gardens. Her little one is a day older than Leah. Im excited to meet him.

FiRaffe · 19/06/2015 08:45

We had a good night again 10.30 - 4.30 then 5 - 7.30. Obviously DS isn't ready to not be swaddled yet!

Off to rhyme time this morning to see the nct girls. Hopefully we're put of leap 2 today in theory so we might have a better day.
