just place marking, and intentionally haven't fully read any of your stories, don't want to scare myself! as i'm a first timer!
like RL I am a little jelous that i'm not post-natal yet : ( 39weeks so could be any time now, hope to join you all soon!!!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 05/04/2015 22:01

I lost count of failed attempts to get my spinal in (heading in the wrong direction to get any help from the local anaesthetic too) after eight of them. I was reciting poetry and song lyrics in my head (mostly) to keep from screaming at one point.

they eventually got it in (not amused by my jokes about not wanting a career as a human pincushion and not being in to have accupuncture)

after that I thought I was ok, blood pressure kept spiking and dropping, apparently I had "significant and unusual blood loss" which explains why I felt floaty at one point but they didn't tell me that until after...
my BP dropped to half it's usual level, Phil kept looking from machine to me to machine to me... they used a "cell saver" machine to recycle my blood back in to me.

suddenly started agony about 9 hours later, never felt anything like it, they said it was wind but I was given morphine.

next day they forgot to give me my meds twice. including blood pressure ones and pain killers. (someone got an official reprimand for that)

I had to request my anti-coagulant injection twice.

and yesterday while doing my "final" check the doctor thinks he found a heart murmer so we had to wait around for ages to get an ECG before they'd let me leave.

So not good!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 05/04/2015 22:02

^^ that was a pre-planned caesarian btw.

But my daughter is here and is fine :)

cinnamongreyhound · 06/04/2015 07:41

TinyTear · 08/04/2015 09:04

First post natal hospital run...
Last night had to pop to the labour ward. Suddenly noticed my section wound was weeping bloody discharge and was convinced it had ruptured.

DD was asleep so DH stayed in with her, but I bundled Newbie in the manduca just for support and called a cab.

Fortunately nothing serious but doctor said it was a bit smelly so giving me antibiotics. Midwife said if it was a rupture I'd have had to call an ambulance and wouldn't have been able to just go there... Also that I should have called first... Oops... I just didn't even think of calling...

So back to lots of rest and letting the wound air a bit...

IvegotaCaveTroll · 08/04/2015 14:18

Glad ur ok Tiny x

Squidge14 · 09/04/2015 14:01

thank you for sharing ladies! I'm due on the 27th so still a couple of weeks left for me yet! Hope all mums are recovering well still and newbies are happy healthy little bundles!

TheBooMonster · 09/04/2015 21:43

yikes tiny definitely lots of rest, put your feet up!!

I'm so used to showing my fanjo stitches to people that I tried to flash them at the health visitor this morning, she was mildly shocked Blush my 8 week check feels like forever away but bearing in mind the material they used to stitch me up was meant to melt in 2-3 weeks I'm unimpressed with how obviously there the stitches still are... though I remember stitches that should have been dissolvable having to be removed in the past, perhaps my body doesn't play well with that stuff...

Hi can I join the FB group? My baby boy Nyren was born April 5.
Let me know how! As I already need people to talk to at 4am! :)

PenguinPoser · 10/04/2015 06:46

Linda if you send a PM to theboomonster or tinytear they can add you if you tell them your real name. Not sure who else can add to the group. Just saw your thread about the cluster feeding at night that sounds really rough and hopefully wont last too long!

StuntNun · 10/04/2015 07:16

DH is back to work today so it's my first day on my own with four children. At least he's only doing a half day and then it's the weekend. I'm not looking forward to having to get DS1 and DS2 out to school next week.

TinyTear · 10/04/2015 09:12

My bloody fat tummy hangs over the scar keeping it covered and damp. Damn it.
More discharge yesterday.

Now in bed with a pillow under the bottom to try and get gravity to help keeping it out of the way.

I can add people to the fb group but today have health visitor and midwife coming so not sure when

cinnamongreyhound · 10/04/2015 15:19

My birth story will come in a bit in full I think as dh has arrived now. I had my waters broken 6.40pm, syntocinon drip at 7.40pm at 6. Turned to 12 at 8.30 and 24 at 9, turned down sometime around midnight I think and then off for pushing as contractions were coming too fast apparently they try to keep them 4-5 every 10 mins. Pushing was long as I had a lip on my cervix that was tucked behind baby's head and his head was crowning in the middle of the top of his head instead of his crown which made it a much harder job! Midwives were quite excited about his positioning! Had a few stitches but nothing too bad and feeling not as delicate as I did after ds1 or 2. Was hideous to dh from 8-10cm although he says I wasn't. Baby ended up clip on his head for monitoring and basal hr went from
135-40 at start of labour to 115-20 at end but still accelerating quickly.

ebwy · 10/04/2015 21:26

Tiny, my fat belly overhangs too and these hot nights I sweat and it stings! so what I do, I fold a night time sanitary towel lengthways (so it's like a long sausage and the glue sticks it together, and put that against the wound... it absorbs any oozing or sweat and keeps it all dry.

that's the only use I have for disposable ones now, but I'm glad I bought them!

(I was tipped to do that when I had eldest by another "plus sized mum" and it works)

FiRaffe · 11/04/2015 03:55

Just marking my place. Story to follow once I can face reliving!!

TinyTear · 11/04/2015 08:11

Ebwy I use a length ways pad too
:-)

ebwy · 12/04/2015 11:39

I can't even lift to see mine myself - I have too much bruising. so I have to rely on Phil's observations, and checking the pads

cinnamongreyhound · 13/04/2015 09:38

Woo hoo, we have yellow poos Grin. Last two nights he's pretty much constantly fed from having his antibitotics at 10 until 12.30 but then slept until 4 and then yesterday until 7.30 and today I had to wake him to give him a feed to take ds1 to school so he didn't scream all the way there and back. Tough walk but I've done and it dh will be here to do it the rest of the week if I need him to, he was taking dss this morning. I hate this weak feeling, want to get on with stuff but don't want to damage anything. Dh is very good at making me sit though!

TinyTear · 13/04/2015 12:14

Yay for yellow poos. It's great when you stop scraping meconium off their bottoms

Siarie · 13/04/2015 13:33
Grin
PenguinPoser · 13/04/2015 18:09

Wow I'm jealous of your DS' ability to sleep cinnamon! And yay for yellow poos Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 13/04/2015 22:28

Very early days yet PenguinPoser, plenty of time for him to change but Im hoping he's more like ds1 than ds2!
