Roll call please ladies and perhaps add the number of slings and buggies you have acquired at the time of posting... Wink

popz that's our plan with the IKEA cot, make a sidecar. My mum's getting the proper cot though so it's ok.

Loving all of you with more slings than me!

My mum and SIL say the boobs do go down eventually. I am looking forward to deflating all over at some point!

Definatly the size that's the problem, their fairly big normally but I look like I'm smuggling 2 bald men under my top at the moment.

It gets better min were on night number 5 of cot transition & i don't jump the minute the monitor goes off anymore. Miniscoob has literally slept like a baby since moving, don't seem bothered I'm not there at allSad

RPopz · 07/04/2015 21:21

I wouldn't mind if mine stayed this size tbh Grin

I prob won't get a ring sling wil ... that'd involve actual effort learning how to use it. I think the caboo is coming to the end of its useful life too. So I'm not that bad, technically Wink

TheBooMonster · 07/04/2015 21:42

furry I'll take your boobs!

I'll post a stash shot when I've got them all here Grin

ooh fx she gets some good sleep in min

popz there are sooooo many gorgeous ring slings!!

WilHarlot · 07/04/2015 21:50

second hand cot popz?

ZylaB · 07/04/2015 22:00

What's a ring sling? Is my sling a stretch one or a ring one? It's stretchy and has rings to tighten? (Caboo close)

I'm a sling noob really Grin

RPopz · 07/04/2015 22:14

Caboo is a stretchy but like a pre-tied version, with rings to adjust it rather than just reams of fabric. A ring sling has rings at the shoulder, supposed to be a bit quicker to get in and out of..... I don't know the technical terms, I'm a bit of a Noob too Wink

RPopz · 07/04/2015 22:15

Oh and ring slings are woven fabrics. Don't know if you can get stretchy ones.

JuniDD · 08/04/2015 00:04

No, ring slings are always woven.

So, our first proper cold. That's no fun is it? Just finally put her down on her front for the first time ever and scared to death. Need some sleep myself... arghhh!

OP posts:
TheBooMonster · 08/04/2015 00:05

Yep ring slings have 2 rings on one end so you make a loop with a long tail and it goes over one shoulder and under the opposite arm. You can get them non woven but woven are the better quality. There are some places that do them in a material you can use in water, I might have to get one of those...

Things I never expected to say to my toddler "no you can't have that boob, it's your sisters, where's your juice cup?" She has discovered a sudden obsession with my breasts now I'm feeding the newborn and upon being told she couldn't drink from me whilst I was attempting to attach micro she proceeded to prod me till I hosed down both her and micro Hmm

TheBooMonster · 08/04/2015 00:09

juni I'm pretty sure Palm and pond do non woven ring slings, not heard great things about their longevity though...

JuniDD · 08/04/2015 00:37

No they don't have a great rep. Tightening must be tricky if it's stretchy...?

Attempting sleep now...

OP posts:
WilHarlot · 08/04/2015 00:59

Ring slings look the best but they must be bad for your back? I always felt like a tosser wearing the stretchy.

TheBooMonster · 08/04/2015 02:13

It does rather seem that by the time that children reach toddler age parents move to a more structured wrap such as a mei tai or a long woven wrap, so perhaps they're not so great for bigger kids...

I have jinxed my self, this child will never sleep again. DH is being a dick about how it's effecting his sleep (he has actually managed to get some) and if my sister wasn't asleep on the sofa I'd have kicked his arse downstairs so micro could have his side of the bed and all three of us could sleep Angry

ZylaB · 08/04/2015 04:33

Thanks for the sling info :)

H has just done 6 hours between feeds, 5 in bed and one before bed having a meltdown, but still!! She's currently attacking my boob like she's been deprived Grin

ZylaB · 08/04/2015 04:41

juni hope she's better soon.

WilHarlot · 08/04/2015 05:13

Zyla that's immense. Micro slept for four hours downstairs earlier then has done three and a half up here. Not sure if she'll settle now though.

What's DH saying Boo? The early weeks are just exhausting. It shall pass though.

Minion · 08/04/2015 06:57

Great sleep zyla!
Oh juni, hope she's right soon.
Well, gutted who had a pretty good night unswaddled!!!
TTurns out we were worrying unnecessarily, she had a right good kip. Think she rather enjoys the space tbh.

Going to look round a nursery today. Scary!

JuniDD · 08/04/2015 08:01

Glad R did well min and hope the nursery is nice.

I wore BabyJ in the ring sling on a long walk on Sunday. If it's spread properly across your back it's actually ok. Still prefer my buckle which I wore in IKEA yesterday and it felt a lot better.

She slept ok and is awake now, just one wake up at 4.45. Seems to be a cold that is bad at night.

OP posts:
ZylaB · 08/04/2015 08:14

Not sure what to do today, I don't want to do organised groups every day, and the wed one I sort of fancied is term time only..so it's either have a lazy day at home, or pack H up and go somewhere, but I don't know where!

JuniDD · 08/04/2015 08:36

Lazy day at home with a little walk somewhere?

MrJ said last night that BabyJ needed to get uses to being comforted by him - she was only calming down for me. I pointed out that going to bed at any spare moment when she's awake isn't conducive to this. We'll see...

OP posts:
WilHarlot · 08/04/2015 08:43

Go somewhere pretty for a nice walk and a coffee. We're still housebound - it's getting on my tits.

Why is he napping all the time Juni? MrWil has taken to leaving Babywil when she's screaming because he can't be bothered 'you don't want her to get used to being picked up all the time' Shock . He would never have done that first time round. Just pick the bloody baby up and give me peace for five minutes man!

Minion · 08/04/2015 09:27

Seriously.
How can they sleep for 11 hours and 40 mins later need another 2 hrs?
The life of a baby eh!

ZylaB · 08/04/2015 09:36

DH will comfort the baby when she screams, he's really good, but sometimes needs things pointing out to him, like 'I know you only did her nappy 10mkns ago, but that's wrt nappy scream.' Or 'she may have just been fed but I think she wants more.' Cos he'll walk her and cuddle and talk to her for ages when I'm trying to say what'll stop her crying. I need to let him work it out himself a bit more maybe, but don't like her screaming when I know what's wrong...

ZylaB · 08/04/2015 09:37

Might go out later, am in scruffy now so I'd have to get changed, will see what weather's like, it's cold atm!
