I'm jealous lauren! She seems less gurgly though, so hopefully the ranitidine is working! I neeeeeed some sleep, even 2 hours in a block would be lovely :)

ness a baby In the face would be an interesting way to wake up... Grin

willywallace · 27/03/2015 07:43

That's great Lauren.

zyla you poor thing. At least the ranitidine seems to be helping a bit. Wish I could think of something helpful to suggest.

TheBooMonster · 27/03/2015 08:05

nes I think at the moment it's actually easier having two than having just one, having been through everything with A I have a better idea of what to expect, and what hurdles we had so those things seem easier because they're going better. Also at the moment being a big sister is a novelty for A and she really enjoys fetching things and throwing away nappies!

Pisghetti · 27/03/2015 08:23

Morning Smile partial success last night - DD slept in her Moses basket for about an hour. Baby steps! My boobs are frankly ridiculous so she's having a bit of trouble getting a good latch so is fussing a bit when feeding. She's having a good snooze now to make up for not sleeping much through the night.

We're on our way to Bristol for a newborn photo shoot. It was booked for Tuesday but as madam hadn't turned up.... The photographer had no other slots so I've had to enlist DS' grandparents to drop him off to school as he's heading off to Italy for a few days. Feel bad like I've 'ditched' him for the baby. I'm sat in the back of the car too so I can keep an eye on her. I'm aware this is ridiculously PFB behaviour!

willywallace · 27/03/2015 08:45

Aw it's sweet. Italy on a school trip? Sounds great won't share stories of what we got up to on foreign school trip. Do you think you can manage one of those photos where the baby poos all over DP's arm?
When do we get to find out the name?

What's the age gap between your two Boo?

Pisghetti · 27/03/2015 08:57

DS is too young and innocent for that ignores fact he has a moustache

She's only wee'd on us so far so probably high time she crapped on us too Grin

Ah yes name! Branwen - a mythological Welsh princess, name roughly translates as 'beautiful raven',we were waiting to see if she was dark haired before settling on it (she is). Ella - DS' first choice and he hates Branwen (the name not his sister!) so we compromised with this as a middle name, then my surname (as an extra middle name not a hyphenated jobbie) and DPs surname. Feels like a real relief to start using a name rather than 'Baby Girl'!

ZylaB · 27/03/2015 09:33

Lovely name pis! Enjoy the photo shoot!

wil she DOES burp after feeds! I was told bf babies didn't need winding, so hopefully that'll help settle her too, thanks! I'm off to a baby group, my first one..wish me luck! DH is having her with 2 massive bottles of expressed milk tonight, I'm hoping to get 11 to at least 4! crosses fingers

RPopz · 27/03/2015 09:55

Oh I love that name Pis! Smile

RPopz · 27/03/2015 09:56

Ness does J still fit in the bednest?? I think DS is going to be too tall for ours soon and I'm gutted! He's only 12 weeks old!

TheBooMonster · 27/03/2015 11:29

wil Alex is 28 months

That's a gorgeous name pis have fun at the shoot, ours is Tuesday!

Midwife has been, we're down to 3% weight loss and my fanjo isn't falling apart despite the fact that it feels like it is! perhaps tmi

TheBooMonster · 27/03/2015 12:43

Mum has just been to take Alex for the weekend, the poor child was devastated that I was sending her away, and now I feel awful that I've pretty much taken a back seat with her this week to focus on the baby :s

ZylaB · 27/03/2015 13:49

boo don't worry she'll have a great time wih her granny! I bet she's being spoilt rotten as we speak :)

willywallace · 27/03/2015 14:04

Get used to the guilt Boo! I feel it every day but at least at their age they won't remember. Plus a weekend with granny will be lovely.

No problem zyla, hope it helps. It's a bit of a myth about bf babies. I'm sure someone advised me of it with MiniWil so just passing it on. Although I still fail to get it up successfully half the time. Enjoy baby group!

I met a baby a couple of weeks ago called that Pis - which is very unusual to hear up these parts. Her sister was called Angharad. It's a lovely name, good choice.

willywallace · 27/03/2015 14:22

Oh and as suspected, MicroWil has fallen down two centile lines so I heard the dreaded 'top up' advice. Which I don't really mind but I think it messes with your supply.

RPopz · 27/03/2015 14:53

Agree - miniBoo will be having a super time with Granny, don't stress Boo. It's early days.

I don't know if its bollocks wil but I've heard a lot that formula stretches their stomach too and so they need more boob to fill them... Can she have normal formula or will it be one like Mins got? MrWil could do the formula feed while you pump so your supply isn't affected? (Bit of a ballache though).

My sister keeps calling DS fat... Angry HE'S A BABY

willywallace · 27/03/2015 15:08

Shock Tell her to shut her hole Popz Wink . I love the chubbiness of babies!

I have to test with normal formula this weekend and if there is a reaction I'll go and get special stuff like what Min has. I'd like some anyway as a back up if I need to leave her for a couple of hours. Hate that I can't seem to keep her weight up although she is still putting on at least. Other people with girls, what did they weigh at 9/10 weeks?

ZylaB · 27/03/2015 17:03

wil can you pump and top up with breast milk? Just to make sure she's had as much as possible? I daren't compare H to other babies her age, the was a boy who's 4 weeks younger than her at the group, so the same as she'd be if she was full term and he's loads bigger than her, I know she's off the bottom of the chart if you don't adjust 4 weeks for being prem. but she's alert etc, so meh.

I tried her in the pram bassinet again today, screams! Lots of gurgling and then she threw up...lying flat is a no no then, waiting on the insert for the seat so I can have her not flat now! She has been less gurgly with the ranitidine and being upright more so don't want to go backwards.

I have quite a lot of the night off tonight, 2 and a half bottles of breast milk in the fridge, hoping to top the third one off, but I don't get as much when I pump in the evenings....good nights sleep here I come!!

RPopz · 27/03/2015 17:47

Oh man... life is just all about shit right now! DS has had about 3 ginormoturds today to make up for his poo strike... and just had to bath the dog after he found himself a nice big patch of fox poo to roll in when we were at the park....Angry Angry At least I have refrained from crapping myself today touch wood

JuniDD · 27/03/2015 18:38

wil DD dropped a line about then - my mum who is an hv says the weight gain does slow after 3 months but they would advise you if baby drops two lines. (I've not spoken to her about what you posted, just during chats we've had etc).

Had a lovely day with my NCT group - feeling bad for thinking they were a load of weirdos originally! But now the babies are here we've got a lot more in common and then you get to know each other.

Sorry about your pooey day, DD has also had a bit of a pooathon today popz.

Hope you had a lovely time in my fair city pis and all the travelling was ok.

DD put herself down around 5.30 so it's a dream feed for us tonight. I really dislike them as I end up going to bed so much later but perhaps she'll do a really long sleep after.

She was 9lb13 at 7 weeks then 11lb5 at 12 weeks.

Pisghetti · 27/03/2015 19:10

She did great Smile was proper sleepy so let the photographer put her in all shapes. Had to get her milkdrunk halfway through as she got a bit perky.

Be honest with me - breast feeding hurts from about day 3/4 right? Her latch looks perfect but she's spending hours suckling each day - that's gonna take its toll - right? It's what I remember from DS and it got better eventually until it didn't hurt at all but everything I'm reading says it shouldn't hurt at all at any time so I'm wondering if I've got it wrong. If the pain is a normal part of establishing breast feeding - why not be honest about it?

Pisghetti · 27/03/2015 19:11

By the way I'm happy to accept it if I'm wrong and book a session with the bf counsellor!

JuniDD · 27/03/2015 19:23

pis yep, any part of the body being sucked on for hours at a time will be a bit sore! If it continues past two weeks then good to get the latch at. But good to see a LC sometimes, just to get it all as good as possible. I actually had this conversation with a midwife on the ward re pain being normal but being told it's not...bit mindbending!

Glad the shoot went well xx

Aww Pis she is beautiful and I love he name!

Babies weights vary so much E is almost 4lbs heavier then one of his peers who is not premature abdomen 1 day older. Lol!

He has a terrible cough so took him the Dr who said he was so happy that he was fine, he listened to his chest which he said was clear but so frustrating as he is coughing lots at night!

But anyway mostly good here aside from the fact we are moving Smile

ZylaB · 27/03/2015 19:54

H is 7 weeks on sun and is probably only just over 7lbs.... Getting weighed on Thursday next week after 2 weeks off from it. I'm now wondering if they should have let us have 2 weeks off, but she had just put on 10oz in a week and the week before I'd made them hate me for telling them they were plotting her graph incorrectly!
