I'm def going back to docs tomorrow. H passed out knackered after crying so much, but only stayed that way because she was upright on my chest. Slept a couple of hours, woke up and screamed immediately. Poor lamb. :(

RPopz · 22/03/2015 20:39

Welcome to the otherside Boo! I never got those after pains that I remember. Apparently they're worse for second and subsequent babies Sad Why are post natal wards so bloody stingy with pain killers??

I've got pink CM... if MrPopz has dislodged my period I'll smack him Angry

Aw Zy Sad Poor H.

ZylaB · 22/03/2015 21:28

Dim pretty sure it is the reflux, but if she's not in the boob she's so distressed. She'd I take her to out of hours, will they do anything?

ZylaB · 22/03/2015 21:30

retype: I'm pretty sure it is the reflux, but if she's not on the boob she's so distressed. Should I take her to out of hours, will they do anything?

Nessalina · 22/03/2015 23:12

Always worth a go Zyla, even if it's just for peace of mind. We were at the OOH about four times in the first three months Blush

Congrats Boo! Is it a pink or blue one? Grin

I'm back from A boozy night out - the parents have been baby sitting! Bloody marvellous ! Please forgive any typos Blush

willywallace · 23/03/2015 03:44

Ooh so jealous Ness.

zyla we were going to the doctor twice a week before the ranitidine/stopping dairy. Don't worry about it at all. If you're not happy with what they say, ask for second opinion or referral. I'm pretty sure they have to refer you if you ask them to.

Boo, I remember the pain but don't remember it being sore enough for painkillers as it was quite fleeting. Have they checked you over?

TheBooMonster · 23/03/2015 04:13

Zyla definitely get baby seen (again and again) if you're worried, took us weeks to get DD's lactose and soya intolerance diagnosed.

Mini boo is pink and has gone from feeding like a champ to comfort sucking without actually consuming anything and distorting my nipples, a godsend of a midwife took her away for an hour and a half earlier and I feel like a new woman for having managed that small period of sleep!

They've checked me over a few times, my uterus contracted right back pretty much to it's prepregnancy size and position after the injection so half the midwives in the hospital and a doctor came for a feel! Seems to be less painful on my insides today though.

Nessalina · 23/03/2015 04:47

Wow, that's a bit speedy! I have to say, I didn't even get a twinge, but looking at the size of my tummy even now, I'm not sure it contracted back Grin

Nessalina · 23/03/2015 04:50

Just woken up and fed J, and I genuinely cannot be sure that this is the first time tonight Blush I think I was up with him at 2am, but I wouldn't bet more than a tenner on it. If I was, then it was definitely his booziest drink of milk to date - bad mama!!
He's just done a massive poo to punish me Confused

ZylaB · 23/03/2015 04:59

So our city has out of hours, but we're a bit far out of the city to ring our go and get out through to assessment for that. You can't go without an appointment made over the phone, so we had to ring 111. They said they'd get a nurse to ring back...3 and a half hours later they rang, DH had moved his phone and didn't get to it in time, they left a message saying they'd call back soon, 2 hours after that rang again.... now a doc will ring..within the hour apparently.

ZylaB · 23/03/2015 05:17

I'm a big fan of the nhs and they were ace when I was pg, but this system is shit! We spoke to a doctor from our area 6 hours after ringing 111... Now I know it's not an emergency, that's why I didn't take her to a and e... But I'm intelligent enough to decide my dd needs to see a doc and should be able to organise that. He was very nice and said he'd see her, but due to the time, as our gp opens in 3 hours, we may as well go there now as he didn't have any meds he could give her.

Next time I'm rocking up at the appointment only out of hours in the city and demanding they see her... I mean... 6 hours ffs!

willywallace · 23/03/2015 06:54

That's awful Zyla. We still have the good version of NHS 24 up here where medically trained people answer the calls. I've had to use it a few times, it's brilliant.

Lauren, I am sure DP's over attentiveness will wear off with sleep deprivation Grin .

Min have you seen the Ergo sleeping bags where the arms are swaddled but the bottom part is loose like a normal bag? May be a good halfway option?

willywallace · 23/03/2015 06:54

Juni what do you think of the manducca?

laurenamium · 23/03/2015 06:59

6 hours zyla that's ridiculous! Shock

Grin At boozy feeds ness

I survived my first night home with Isaac, DD only woke once and Isaac slept for 4 hours straight at one point so I don't feel too bad. It's DPs turn to get up with them both tonight so we will see how much interfering I will have to do before deciding if the alternate night system is going to work!

laurenamium · 23/03/2015 07:00

wil Grin it's funny you should say that, yesterday he announced Isaac wasn't allowed to leave the house until Thursday or have any visitors because he's used to being in a sterile hospital and he needs to avoid germs...he's just mumbled that I can take him on the school run and gone back to sleep Grin

FurryScoob · 23/03/2015 07:53

Congratulations boo

It's amazing how sleep deprivation changes their mind lauren

zyla 6 hours is crap, hope your GP gives you more help.

I need help o wise viroids, how do you tell the difference between teething & a growth spurt? DDs doing her usual sleepy, Hungary, clingy thing she does in a growth spurt but has also developed a weirded loud cry & seems really unsettled. I gave her calpol last night & she nodded off into a peaceful sleep but I don't know how you tell if she's just growing or sprouting teeth. Gums don't look any different.

willywallace · 23/03/2015 08:32

Take him on the school run??? Why are you even doing the school run? Get him told!

Furry no way to know for sure. Signs can be trying to gum everything, excess saliva, dodgy nappies but also she may not have those. I think though if calpol settled her, something must have been sore so I'd just keep going with that. Try giving her some teething rings if she has the coordination to put them in her mouth?

ZylaB · 23/03/2015 10:05

We saw a doc who said her baby had reflux. She read notes, looked at us, gave ranitidine, tiny amounts but we can increase if needed. God I hope it works, hate seeing H like this. Fx!

willywallace · 23/03/2015 10:12

I don't find it magic zyla but she is definitely more settled since starting it. Might take a few days though. fx

We're not having a good time since vaccinations. That oral rotavirus one is a bloody pain. She has constant dirty nappies, some of which are bright green and is being a nightmare to feed. Really wanted her to put on decent weight this week as think the HV will be on my case if not so it's so frustrating.

ZylaB · 23/03/2015 10:43

I'm not sure what to make of HV in general wil I think the first one I saw was patronising which put me off, although the look on her face when she gave me the 'don't shake the baby' leaflet and asked if I knew that, and I laughed out loud and responded with "really?! Do you have a don't put baby in the microwave leaflet too?" Did sort of make up for it! Hehe

RPopz · 23/03/2015 11:20

Zyla Grin Grin Grin I didn't get that leaflet - does that mean I can? Wink

ZylaB · 23/03/2015 11:38

Maybe! Or perhaps I just look dodgy?!

willywallace · 23/03/2015 11:57

Hahahhaa. I never got that leaflet either, you must look like a baby shaker Wink . My HV is nice, which is just aswell as I have to see her ALL the time. She is often the bearer of bad news

laurenamium · 23/03/2015 12:26

There's a dont shake the baby leaflet zyla Shock

In DPs defence I did want to do the school run this morning Smile I haven't took DD to nursery in over a fortnight and I wanted to show off Isaac

Fingers crossed the new medicine works for H zyla!

JuniDD · 23/03/2015 12:49

Ooh, zyla-baby-shaker! Wink I'm a bit shattered today but hope you've got new meds for H and that she's feeling better.

DD is having her first nap in her bed (usually naps on me). This is good but feels like too much change at once! Grin

wil I tried the manduca and didn't like it BUT when I went again, when DD was bigger, another woman tried it and it looked really good. I really like carriers where you cross the back straps as I don't have a lot of mobility in my shoulders to do a neck strap (since pg) but can't remember if that's a back crosser or not.

Time for lunch then I guess...
