Fingers crossed for fruitful sweeps. More babies!

Sore tonight, how long does this last? Been 8 days and feel so bruised. Then again looking at the size of DS, they're going to had to have pulled me about quite a bit.

Hoping for a better night tonight. Been less weepy today, progress!

Grinningcat · 20/02/2015 22:40

Thanks. Particularly for the pad suggestion whyo. I had a different Mw at my 38 week appt as mine was on a training course so I did wonder if it would normally have been discussed then for doing it at my 40 week appt. I will go in prepared in case she does do one and then if it ends up being done at 41 weeks instead that is fine.

Apart from my usual BH everything has eased off for now so think it was just indigestion and a bit of wishful thinking.

L1ttleMissGiggles · 20/02/2015 22:51

Thanks for the tip whyo. I will too pack a pad for Tuesday. Would love to see any sign that baby is on the way but nothing as yet. My bump does seem to get very hard like baby is really pushing right out over the last few days. It doesn't really feel like baby is low enough to me but being a FTM I've no idea really. No painful BH as yet either. X

GeekyHybrid · 20/02/2015 23:48

grinning Isaac arrived on his due date so statistically he's probably the only one for this thread. However, as a believer in sod's law, the more arrangements for tomorrow you have the better the chance of him arriving! I was supposed to be at a friends at 1pm on due date, Isaac was born at 1257 Shock
giggles I'm fairly certain I didn't have any BH all pregnancy.
OH is back at work tomorrow, kinda dreading it, really could do without any breakfast dramas like today. Fingers crossed. I may trying to go to bed now, I'm hoping LO has finished feeding for a while. And OH should be sparko himself by now.

Grinning and Purple, like you both, I've just woken up to period style cramps. Also I feel a need to go to the toilet but when I went I couldn't go. I hope this is it. Two days over is quite enough for me! I'm extremely unconfortable past few days. I lost a palm sized clump of plug last night so again, hope it's all going in the right direction for us all!

Purpletoes · 21/02/2015 02:27

Hi blank my pains have been regularish and getting stronger not managed to sleep.

Dp is asleep in other room and ds is asleep in his. Not sure when to wake up dp also if going to hospital we need to get ds gps here as well!! Was kinda thinking it would kick off during day not night. Wink

Not sure when to call as with ds I was in Labour for 3 days! Think I might get up soon and time them properly.

blankfornames · 21/02/2015 02:55

Ahhh Purple, thank goodness for a labour buddy!! DH is fast asleep beside me and Im not so sure what to do with myself either!

I have a contraction timer on my phone that Ive started timimg them with but they are quite far apart yet. I've also just had a 'clear out' so hoping that all signs are pointing towards labour and not a false start!

Good luck!!!

Purpletoes · 21/02/2015 03:16

Definitely nice to have a buddy. SmileSmile

I have just put on my tens machine to see if that helps as it was just getting a bit more uncomfortable.

Contractions are between 45-60 sec long and every 5-7 mins. Blush

Shall see on next one if the tens helps. Tempted to go downstairs and potter. Tens appears to be doing its job. Grin

Need to recheck hospital bag I think!

blankfornames · 21/02/2015 03:38

So did yours kick off around 9.30 last night?

I woke at 1.30 with cramps. Too early for me to get Tens machine out as still far apart but will be very interested to hear how it goes for you.
Think I have to get up. Too uncomfortable lying here, plus I need to wee every few minutes!

Purpletoes · 21/02/2015 03:42

I had pains on and off all day but not regular or anything but from about 930-1000 they got a bit more frequent but it was 1130 ish by the time they went 5-7 mins. Although typical now with tens machine on they seem to be stretching out again so may try to rest! Grin

Loveallmyboys · 21/02/2015 04:30

So excited for you blank and purple!! I'm quite the lurker as DS3 is almost 19 weeks now. Hope you don't mind me silently cheering you both on? Grin good luck ladies x

Purpletoes · 21/02/2015 06:19

So I managed a little doze not much.

Then my ds came into me at 5. He is now asleep beside me and contractions seem a bit more painful but are 10 mins apartHmm
Oh still asleep as I need one of us functioning!

blankfornames · 21/02/2015 06:36

I tried to doze but cant. This is hard! Came back to bed had to wake DH up but he's finding it hard to stay awake! lucky him!

At what stage should I start to use the tens?

Keep keeping on Purple!

Purpletoes · 21/02/2015 06:43

How frequent are your contractions? I was told to out on early and low and then as they get more painful and greyest you can ramp it up. Apparently it works better that way.

I am starving so may get up now but don't want ds to wake up yet!

Thankfully I know my in laws always wake early so we can ring them when thinks ramp up now.

Back to 7 mins!

GeekyHybrid · 21/02/2015 07:20

So exciting blank and purple, I've also got envy at you and guys having a 'normal' start where you get to time the contractions etc. Good luck today (and let's hope it's today, non of that 3 day malarkey!) Thanks Biscuit

I'm so jealous blank and purple!
I predict you'll both be holding babies by this evening!
Me, I'll be pregnant forever!

L1ttleMissGiggles · 21/02/2015 07:28

Good luck blank and purple will be thinking of you both today and looking forward to baby updates!

I'm with you long, still nothing happening here, when is your due date? Mine was last Tuesady Hmm.

blankfornames · 21/02/2015 07:45

Thank you ladies. They are quite far apart still..between 12-15 mins but have already vomited from them. Envy After all my gentle birthing practice, I hope Im not an entire wuss.

Memphisbelly · 21/02/2015 08:46

Blank try and stay positive I found the contrsctions felt more intense when further apart weirdly

Hope you both get on great and are holding babies later on today

Purpletoes · 21/02/2015 08:58

Thanks everyone.

Blank hope it's going well for you.

Mine seem to have peetered out! ConfusedAngry

Had regular till 815 and now only niggles not what I call proper contractions. Just when I was going to ring labour ward and everything! Angry

I think I might ring them for advice anyway as my bloods were high this morning post breakfast. Just to make sure with the gestational diabetes.

So annoyed. Hoping it kickstarts again soon

Sending positive vibes to blank and everyone else waiting.

blankfornames · 21/02/2015 09:48

Hi Purple, Im the same. ive constant back ache and odd cramps but contractions have stopped. Losing fluid though so hospital want me to go up to get checked out and see if it's my waters. Im over an hours drive to hospital and was hoping to stay at home for as long as I can. Don't know what to do.

Hope they start up for you again Purple. Hope everyone else is making most out of their weekend!

Grinningcat · 21/02/2015 09:58

Oh exciting and very jealous purple and blank. This does all sound like its the beginning of the end for you guys, even if things have slowed down with the light of day.

I had a couple of severe period pain contractions that woke me up in the night, but nothing regular and I've had nothing similar since getting up. Hoping they mean that things might start properly over the next few days. Due date is today, but apart from doing the weekly shop later e have nothing planned. Maybe I should arrange to meet friends so that Sod's Law can kick into action Grin.

LancashireTea · 21/02/2015 10:03

MORNING ALL! Currently on the ward having my induction. On the monitor now and then have to wait for the doctors to come and examine me for the delights of the pessary. Joys!

longbottom · 21/02/2015 10:05

Giggles, I'm due Wednesday, so not over due yet! I dread to think what I'm going to do if I do go over, DP predicts I'll go on my due date! DD is desperate to not be at school when baby comes :(
I do have period type pains in my back! I'm going for a long walk, a couple of miles at least!

Purpletoes · 21/02/2015 10:16

Like you blank I am heading to hospital for monitoring no fluid loss but because of the diabetes so just getting ready and need to drop ds off at in laws.

Hoping if it doesn't restart that they will let me home as only 5-10 min drive from hospital.

Fingers crossed.

Good luck with induction Lancashire.
