Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

frenetic, my LO is exactly the same, looks so uncomfortable and is so noisy at sleep times. We co slept all night last night, I really need to stop it, it's just so easy to help me get some sleep.

I must be a lunatic...after really not enjoying pregnancy and feeling so down the whole time, then struggling with the adjustment of having a newborn again, how can I be telling myself I am not done having children yet?!

Grinningcat · 12/03/2015 10:13

thanks frenetic big hugs back. At least LO will sleep during the day really well. It is just that he is mixed up with night and day which I expected as he was active in the womb at the same time he us crying at night now. It's just that when I was pregnant I could get up and watch tv or something, but now I have to keep the lights down etc to make it clear that it is nighttime. Very glad DH got better quality sleep last night. It is his own fault that he chose to come to bed late and after DS started kicking off.

PIL are coming today. They will keep an eye on DS while I have a proper bath and maybe even a nap. It's a shame they are coming at the time of the day whe LO is at his best though. I could do with them bring here at 1 in the morning Grin.

Think LO must be going through a growth spurt as he is either sleeping, feeding or crying. I miss my happy little baby Sad

Memphisbelly · 12/03/2015 20:27

Jen same her, 7 weeks today and he is sleeping loads and when awake guzzling milk or been fussy all day. He has put on 9oz in a week though! Shock

tiredvommachine · 12/03/2015 20:33

My DS is also going through a growth spurt I think.
He went to sleep at 11:30 last night but woke up at 1 am. fed until 2 and then wife up at 4 am. He then fed from 4 am until just after 7:30 am and I had to get up at 9 to get ready to go doctors for 6 week check up.
I'm so tired Sad

tiredvommachine · 12/03/2015 20:33

wife up? Woke up ffs Sad

donkir · 12/03/2015 21:36

I think I'm in for a long night. LO has been screaming most of the day and eve. He's had about 45mins sleep all day! Finally got him to sleep this eve and he woke 10 mins later with a dirty nappy. He hadn't finished yet again and it went everywhere. I give up today. Roll on tomorrow.

jenmcspen · 12/03/2015 22:11

Think my little guy is now using my boobs as a comfortor as not really feeding but cries when I move him. going to hurt like hell tomorrow Sad

freneticfox · 13/03/2015 01:15

Another night sufferer here. I genuinely dread the nights. It's the one time now where DH and I are fractious with each other. It's shit.

tiredvommachine · 13/03/2015 01:46

I used to love my bedroom but I too dread going to bed now.
It's just relentless.

Bangonthedoor · 13/03/2015 07:47

Put LO in her own room last night Shock obviously in her Moses basket still. I know it's so early but all the commotion kept disturbing DD1 and I can't deal with her being tired all the time too! LO's room is just that little bit further away on the other side of ours. She fed at 9pm, 12:30am and 3:30am and feeding again now. She self settled between feeds too without crying so not a bad night. Although I'm sure tonight I won't be quite as lucky!

Grinningcat · 13/03/2015 09:07

Well from how last night went I have to say the Ewan the Dream Sheep is a little miracle worker. I Managed 6.5 hours sleep through the night. LO woke for feed and nappy changes, but instead of the eternal battle to get him back to sleep, he went off pretty easily. That said we had to get him to stop crying initially so he could hear the womb noises, but once he shut up he didn't wake himself up as he has been doing. Hoping for a more awake baby during the day as well. He has a feed at 10 pm, 2am, and 6am. Plus increasing his feeds have probably helped.

Addictedtocustardcreams · 13/03/2015 09:08

Just catching up with everything as DH has taken DD to nursery this morning so I have had a lie in & now getting up slowly. Lie was interrupted by DD trying to climb on me & DS while DH showered but still nice to not get up at 6:30!
We are still having 1-2 hourly feeds in the night. Went to the local breastfe drop in clinic at the hospital yesterday as was gettingitchy burning nipples which is what I had when I had thrush with DD - they don't think it is but have taken lots of swabs. The only thing was the woman told me my positioning & latch is all wrong which has got me really paranoid. DS gaining weight well she said my nipples are fine & not sore (the other feelings not connected to feeding at all) & no damage at all so can't really see why it is all so wrong but now have a new thing to worry about!
Hope everyone got some sleep last night. I remember I couldn't sleep with DD snuffling about but DS is only really waking me when he cries....I do think you get used to all the noises but it's really hard to adjust to them at the start especially if you are already on edge & finding it hard to drop off.

Honeybird · 13/03/2015 11:44

Still finding evenings a struggle here, baby wanting to be held or fed constantly just when I have to feed, bathe and put the other two to bed. Plenty of screaming goes on, from all 5 of us. But nights aren't too bad, up maybe three times a night to feed but she goes back to sleep fairly quickly and it doesn't feel like too big a disturbance i think mostly because we are co sleeping. Hope those of you who are struggling have a good day...

Having our first was such a big adjustment and pretty tough going at times, but now the times when I only have the baby feel like a holiday. Funny how you just adjust and figure out how to cope. Presumably those with 4, 5, or more think we have it easy. Speaking of which, how are things tonights? Hats off to you hope all is well.

freneticfox · 13/03/2015 12:40

Does anyone else have a noisy baby? Even when he's asleep he's grunting, moaning, groaning, squeaking, etc. He grumbles for ages before dropping off to sleep, it's bloody knackering.

Still having issues settling him, it's like he just cannot settle in his moses basket or crib. We've tried transferring him after he's in a deep sleep in our arms but the minute we put him down, he's awake and wailing. Going a bit mad, especially since he's getting rather heavy already!

LancashireTea · 13/03/2015 12:52

Greedy hobbit weights 6lb1 now and is 49cm long ! She also pissed all over me and the sofa. Then threw up in mummy. Lovely morning.
OH slept in the sofa last night as he's in the office today. Me and madam coslept and we both got a decent kip. She's had a bit of a cold so won't settle well at night in her basket bit sleeps well in our bed! Hmm
Saying that she's a star really and say in her bouncer so mummy could shower and put a wash on.

Frenetic mine is also a noisy bugger. She squeaks and grunts and squarks in her sleep and when settling so if she is in her basket I'm up and down till I know she's asleep.

Addictedtocustardcreams · 13/03/2015 13:08

frenetic I think it is normal for them to be really noisy when they are so small. Have read one suggestion of wearing ear plugs so you don't hear all the snuffles but you will still hear them if they cry. The being in your room is meant to be something to do with them hearing you breathing not the other way around.

tonightsthekindofnight · 13/03/2015 13:26

Thanks Honey, I still think the biggest shock to the system is going from none to one.
Tea time is definitely my worst time. Girls want to be fed, toddler throwing food around and my 6 year old wanting attention too. My husband gets in at 5.30 and I'm on my knees at that point. Bedtime seems more relaxed as there is the two of us. Fortunately the twins are still happily going in their cot at 7 awake and going off to sleep. Don't know if they settle each other but it's such a relief as I can help with teeth and stories for the big two.

I think you are right about finding ways to cope, I go up the stairs carrying the twins and my six year old walks up behind my toddler so she is safe. We use the toy shopping basket to carry up bottles, dummies, toddlers milk. Everything is a military operation. Will never be able to just pop anywhere!!

It is hard but I feel so lucky.

Minichuch · 13/03/2015 13:40

Frentic - mine is bloody noisy as well

He's taken to screaming as soon as you put him in his Moses basket and will sleep for 2 hours max when he eventually settles whereas in car seat, in bouncer or on me will sleep for hours

Any suggestions??

Memphisbelly · 13/03/2015 14:15

frenetic and mini in moses basket and crib we have a rolled up hand towel on each side if mattress under the sheet so he feels like he is being held i think but it helps with putting them down

hazzerw · 13/03/2015 17:24

mini have you tried in cot rather than Moses basket? Neither of my two liked the Moses basket at all but liked the cot. One of your tops used as a sheet might help?

Is it wrong to be binge watching 'cucumber' whilst I'm feeding?

LancashireTea · 13/03/2015 18:13

Hazzer I'm doing that with Arrested Development. And am working out how to play xbox with one hand semi trapped under a milk beast.
We've barely slept today. Though she's just dropped off on Daddy after yet another feed.My Nipples are ruined! I've escaped to bed before she wakes up again For more!.

Memphisbelly · 13/03/2015 18:24

LO is growth spurting so feeding and sleeping a lot in the day, also beinging up the crap from his lungs now which is a good thing.
Our evening routine is bath around 9.00pm, pjs, milk, bed before 10, sleeps until 1.30 then wakes again at 5.39, he only dozes from then onwards though.
Been work today and I am shattered now, it was freezing there. Starting on 2 days next week then week after 3 days I think.

Just had LO's first injection appointment through Confused 23rd march

sandulacek · 13/03/2015 18:28

Memphis - has your LO had bgc vaccine?

Memphisbelly · 13/03/2015 18:58

What is that one? He hasn't had any yet first immunisations are dip1, hib1, pert1, pneu1, pol1, tet1, rotovirus1 according to his letter
