New thread Grin, and I can assure you all, it'll be a corker.

worse great news! Thinking of you x

WottaMess · 06/02/2015 13:23

Go Worse!!! waggles pom poms

rainbowtoddle · 06/02/2015 14:00

betty we are in Norway. It is glorious here - so quiet and just beautiful. eco definitely encourage you to head to snowy mountains at some point - there is nothing like crisp snowy mountain air to clear away all cobwebs. In terms of skiing we have travelled with a friend which is perfect as we have a skiing buddy so childcare not an issue. Alternated between skiing, swimming and a fantastic children's play area in the hotel. My favourite part has definitely been skiing with DD though - going down the gentle slopes with her between my legs is so much fun - can't wait for her to be old enough for ski lessons now!

Come on the Babax!

Anypants · 06/02/2015 14:18

Yay worse! Keep moving, keep hydrated and keep pushing until they tell you not to! Best of luck xx

worserevived · 06/02/2015 15:14

All stopped after an hour. So frustrating. no idea what to do but going home seems attractive!

StormyBrid · 06/02/2015 15:26

Stop for a curry on your way home - it might not kick off labour, but it'll probably prompt a bit of a clear-out meaning you're less likely to poo all over a midwife. Worked for me!

Plonkysaurus · 06/02/2015 17:26

I predict an evening of trotting sideways up and down the stairs. And I second a curry, because they're ace.

Or the drugs. How do you feel?

OP posts:
BettyBitesBums · 06/02/2015 17:56

Fuckity fuck I abandoned you in your hour of need! Sorry Worse!!!

What did you decide? Did you get examined and if so what was going on? That would definitely help me make a decision but if things started and stopped and your cervix was favourable there's a good chance of them starting again and don't forget you can ring them up for advice or to change your mind and tee up your induction again at any point! It might just take a decent furtle around stretch and sweep to get things on the move. I hope the few hours silence are actually because it's all kicked off again and you're back in waiting for Babax to show himself!

worserevived · 06/02/2015 18:19

Stormy I'd love a curry but mil has done steak. Oh well.....

I'm home as nothing is happening. Plan is a weekend of bouncing on the ball and walking up hill. If that fails I'm booked in for Monday and will take the drugs. It's been a draining day but the midwives were great. That alone feels like a good reason to wait until next week. None of them are on shift at the weekend.

Problem it seems is babax is swimming about and refusing to press down sufficiently on the cervix to keep things going. Everything else is good to go.

worserevived · 06/02/2015 18:23

other problem is just how difficult I am finding it to post using my phone. Come back wi fi mouse all is forgiven. This is worse!

BettyBitesBums · 06/02/2015 18:38

If I put my low risk midwife hat on I'd say sit on the ball as much as possible not bouncing but doing figure of 8 movements rocking your pelvis, eat little and often rest lying down on one side for little bits when you can and be kind to yourself.

Rainbow your holiday sounds idyllic. I'd love to go skiing in Norway and skiing on nursery slopes with DD sounds fantastic. I have major holiday envy!!!!

Stormy can I join you later in a cigar for Babax?! It's been a while but I am rather partial to a cigar with my brandy and should have been born a 1950s gent

worserevived · 06/02/2015 20:15

Thanks Betty, in fact everyone, so being interested and kind. After today all I really want to do is sit in a corner and cry. I really thought it'd all kicked off and by this time tomorrow I'd have 2 little people in my life. I'm gutted to be honest, and emotionally drained, and would give anything to have the house to myself tonight to just wallow.

The toddle however has done an excellent job of exhausting poor PILs, and herself. She's zonked out asleep already, and they are recovering in the other room, so if I'm honest I have personal space in plenty.

Sorry for self indulgent me me me posts today. I'll be back on proper social form tomorrow!

yummychocolate · 06/02/2015 20:55

worse big hugs to you and not just because it is over familiar Friday. Just think this will be your last couple days before babax will be keeping you up all night. I keep refreshing my page for your updates. Thanks for keeping us updated.

WottaMess · 06/02/2015 21:10

Worse you are allowed to be as me me me as you like! After all, this is your the babax's thread!

I know I appreciated my contractions starting at 10:30 at night so I sat alone while it all ramped up and then woke dh up at 6 to say we'd be going in soon Grin. It'll work out, I reckon you will be mum if two before the weekend's out Wink

Gerrythetootallgiraffeswife · 06/02/2015 21:18

Wow, it looks like I've found you all just in time. For a scary moment there at about 8am I thought I'd missed all the fun! gerry pulls up a seat, gets out the Pom poms, and looks slightly sheepishly towards worse after being the worst, most useless, busiest friend ever xxx

BettyBitesBums · 06/02/2015 21:24

Bollocks to that Worse, until Babax is safely here and you disappear in a fug of newborn cuddles it is indeed all about you.

I'm not surprised you're gutted. A huge amount of emotion and expectation lies on going into labour and there's nothing else that's lies so heavily on you that you have so little control over. Basically, it sucks. Which is why the most important thing you can do over the next couple of days is look after yourself and be kind and as long as Babax is moving plenty and you feel ok all will be fine.

BettyBitesBums · 06/02/2015 21:25

Wahey, Gerry's back!!! Now you can have a baby Worse, the cheering squad is complete!

worserevived · 06/02/2015 21:56

Betty I'll do my best!!

Gerry good to see you back Smile Busy is good, you're allowed to be busy!

I'm off to bed now to sleep off today Grin

StormyBrid · 07/02/2015 07:16

It's been over nine hours since your last post, worse. Have you spent those hours sleeping, or has Babax appeared?

Plonkysaurus · 07/02/2015 07:56

Well ello Gerry!

Worse yes please update your public.

DS had taken to throwing his dummy in the toilet of a morning.

OP posts:
StormyBrid · 07/02/2015 08:01

Oh wow, that's one of those "this will never be sufficiently clean again" moments. Fartypants is in a waking up before dawn phase, but I found her dummy safely on the bedroom floor with the menagerie this morning.

Interesting new grammatical development: "Where "Zebber be?" Interesting because, thinking about it, we very rarely say "be". "Is," "are," and "am," yes, but not "be".

WottaMess · 07/02/2015 08:02

I have the cutest singing and burbling just coming over the monitor. Must take up his milk Grin.

Hope it was sleep worse so you're refreshed after your emotional day.

WottaMess · 07/02/2015 08:02

Oh, and waveS madly at Gerry! Grin
