Yes Pony Lil's constantly got her hands in her chops. She managed to gash her lip tie with her own fingernail earlier mouthful of blood and hysterics!

Fate roll away! My two don't do long naps and I like to have weekends as family time, for £48 a month my cleaner means I don't have to worry.

Definately pony! Its like hes trying to eat his entire hand! Loudly!
Im going to suggest a cleaner to dh. When mil came on saturday we had 2 hrs and hardly got owt done! Hes not keen on spending money tho especially as i have the cheek to want full 12M mat leave meaning 3M crap pay and 3M no pay. Id happily clean if babymoose would be put down... well after ive slept!

Gps were crap re: reflux and suggested going back to ranitidine so now ive no clue what to do :s

Meant to say to you earlier tatty that was some sleep you lo had last night, the longest i have had yet is 7 hours but cant complain as she does have decent naps in during the day .,, hopefully you get the same tonight

Unless I had a cleaner coming in every day, I'm not sure it'd be any use to me once a week. Things like vacuuming, tidying up, putting washing on, tumble dryer on, putting clothes away, cleaning kitchen, tidying bedrooms - I do all of these things every day.

Granted it doesn't take me a vast amount of time, but that is because I stay on top of it every day. Probably 30-60 minutes in the morning and then 30 minutes in the afternoon.

Four children, dog, cat, big house - it's be a tip if I let it even for half a week, let along a full week.

I cannot imagine storing up all the cleaning to be done once a week. What do your cleaners do in their 2 hours?

Now a cook, or just an extra pair of hands around so that I can cook without also dealing with the children - that would help. Someone to be around from 4pm-6pm and tolerate me barking orders at them .

Oh god id love a cleaner! I hate cleaning so much. DH has been great since baby arrived but I feel mean getting him to do everything when I'm the one off on maternity leave.
pony my DS has got his hands rammed permanently in his mouth at the moment too. It used to be a sign he was hungry but now it seems he just enjoys the taste of his hands!
We went to the dtrs today as mucous poo still not cleared up. Am going dairy free from now on so if anyone had any delicious dairy free recipes feel free to share

Wow Fate! You're a superstar doing all that cleaning and having four kids!! I feel very lazy now struggling with a baby and a large house.

But then I do cook and they all eat VERY well (and I'd rather eat than clean ??

When I say mucous poo I mean baby obviously, not me. That would be over sharing at its best

Ah man, I would love a cleaner. have suggested it, but dh not keen. I will be a stay at home mum too, and this is my first and only child

Made me chuckle the other day - we were talking about needing to trim baby bettys nails and being nervous to use scissors just yet... dh: "yeah, we should just sand them down for now". I better teach him some girly beauty lingo (i.e. 'Filing') before he ges his orbital sander out...

Theres a really good cmpa group on fb and pretty much all we talk about is food! Theres been recipes for all sorts including choc mousse!

Missus - three of the four children are at school all day. And my baby sleeps well in the day. So I have no excuse really. DH would definitely very at the suggestion of a cleaner since he often does the raised eyebrow thing when I mention spending the afternoon watching films on the sofa or (like today) having a little wander around the town centre for no particular reason, or spending ages mumsnetting.

I've done my time being exhausted by toddlers and it will come again in a years time. But not yet.

I've always worked much longer hours than my DH (he works freelance from home) so the domestic stuff has always been his department. I'll have to pull my weight more when he's looking after a toddler all day when im back at work I guess!

I'd love a cleaner too, to do the things I hate doing but that you can't (well I can't) do wearing a sling like hoovering the stairs, properly cleaning the bathroom and toilet, washing the floors, washing the windows and patio doors when they need doing.....I think I'd get along quite contentedly with the daily tidy ups and hanging/folding/putting away washings if I didn't have the other "bigger" jobs like that hanging over me! DH works long hours so when he gets home it's pretty much dinner and chill-out time with him.

I'd love a cleaner, my least favourite job to do whilst baby cries.
However I'll settle for a de-flea. Bloody things are still here after bombing the house, deep cleaning, washing everything and topping up cat's flea drops.
Does anyone have any ideas?!?

Pony yes to a fist sucker here too. He makes his hands red he does it so much!

Fate I like to keep on top of general tidying etc. washing, changing sheets etc and the kitchen gets dirty as we cook so much from scratch I always sweep the floor in there. For my 2 hours I get a bathroom and downstairs toilet blitz, Hoover throughout. Cleans and dust our room and wash downstairs floors... That way it's really clean every week and I do 'surface damage cleaning' inbetween her visit!
Washing reusable nappies is a job in itself it's nice to have some extra help. I managed last time with just one child but decided this time it would be a treat to myself with a toddler in tow.

wonder I get 9 months crap pay - oh thankyou freelance statutory mat pay!!!

I met a woman today who ties her 4 month old to her back. Baby sleeps and she can do the stuff it's a bit tricky to do with them on your front, cook, computer whatever etc...apart from lie down I guess!

munday we got the local council out think it was about £100 to get our 5 bed house done. They come and spray everywhere if they don't get rid of them they come back and do it again. I'd only seen two so I think I was slightly over reacting but I wanted to make sure they didn't get worse I treated all the animals got the council out two days later and never saw one again that was last winter.

fate I still do about and hour or so of tidying, sorting, washing etc every day once a week they come and totally blitz it but like you if I saved everything for once a week my house would be revolting! My lovely ladies spend 4hrs (between 2 of them so actually here for 2 hours) doing floors,paintwork, steam cleaning etc..

R has gone down in his cot three nights in a row now! Maybe letting him cry a bit has helped?! Or maybe not and tomorrow everything will change!

Pony - in SA all the african ladies tie the babies on their backs. As a kid, I used to get our maid to tie my mom's dog to my back and we'd walk around together :)

My DH has just told me how tired he is since the baby has arrived! He sleeps / snores through the night, has only ever done one night feed and comes home to a freshly cooked meal.
Go figure

I may have to get a company/ the council in. Or I may suggest we move house! We're hopefully going to anyway in the summer E has taken over our whole house as we need more room.
I'm all itchy and paranoid now. Must be sleep deprivation, the non-sleeping baby has woken up every single time I've put her down today. Anyone got some match sticks? or earplugs?

Got H to sleep at the later time of 9.30 tonight, she's slept through the 35mph winds pelting the trees at the bottom of the garden, and DH has just got back from band practice and came to bed with a mug of tea and the biscuit tin and proceeded to rustle and rattle his way through it and then let out 3 almighty sneezes . (I know we're not supposed to pussyfoot about them when they sleep but come ooooon!) So she's now awake and chewing my previously cluster-chewed nip. And I am tea-less. Harrumph.

Ah Munday what a pain.
Lol at your hubbie Missus, I hate to claim the monopoly on tiredness but I still can't help but roll my eyes as well when my DH goes on about how knackered he is..
