Hmm fed and co slept from 8-1.30 in the vague hope it would make babymoose a bit sleepier and hopefully sleep better. It lasted an hour :(

MundayCakes85 · 09/01/2015 06:22

Morning all, E obviously knackered after no naps yesterday. We diagnosed teething and I have a half dose of calpol before bed. She slept for 8 hours!! For anyone with hand chewing, grumpy, warm baby may be worth a shot?
Wonder how's baby moose doing now? Hope you all got a bit of rest. I'm hoping to go back to bed soon Hmm

Missus2ndwife · 09/01/2015 07:11

So after a week of sleeping badly, the Boo slept until 6am!! Whoo hoo!!

Husband says to me: you got loads of sleep from 10pm - 6am
Me: no love, I slept 11pm - 12pm. Then you brought him up, he woke up so we were up until 12.40 before I brought him into bed for an hour, then I kept waking up to feed him but he was sleeping. Not exactly a restful night.

Hope baby moose is ok and everyone got a better night too
X

sazzlehopes · 09/01/2015 08:08

Morning all. We got a better first stretch. N woke at half 2 for his first feed. Then he woke at 4ish then half 5 when oh got up for work Angry Ned always seems to wake loads after 4ish but I'm pleased the first stretch was better... Now if only id gone to bed earlier id feel more human today. Instead I was up late stressing and applying for school places for my ds1 ShockConfused

We're getting back to slightly better sleeping after our failed evening sleep plan. Not yet back to the great times of one quick wake up though. Maybe I'll never see them again. I miss coming to bed with a book. These days I always come straight to bed in a dark room and go straight tosleep tthe minute I get her sleep. It's the small things that are getting to me at the moment.

Things I miss:
Reading a book in bed
Using a laptop with 2 hands
Not having to decide between uncomfy sleep or having a wee in thenight
Just quickly stopping at the supermarket
Cooking properly
Talking on the phone for more than 5 minutes
Being in the bathroom for hours
Watching telly on the laptop in bed in the morning
Things not aching

wondermoose13 · 09/01/2015 08:36

After the 1 hr sleep we fed on off til 445 and then i took him off because he was just chewing and he stayed down til jist before 8 which is a big improvement on the past few nights but i still feel like ive been hit by a truck.
I seem to have got a horrible chesty cough which is fun seeing as im assuming i cant take anything for it that is bf suitable.
Dh didnt set an alarm for work so is very grumpy and is eating my chocolate pop tarts for breakfast because i cant which seems a bit mean at this moment

fedupofrainydays · 09/01/2015 08:39

Hello new thread. Just marking place briefly as heading out for ds1 class in 10 mins and no one is ready Confused

Pregnantagain7 · 09/01/2015 09:09

Morning all r slept til 5 again last night dare I hope we may have turned a corner? Or have I totally jinxed it Grin

Having a can't be arsed day today. They girls are at school and nursery so just me and my boys at home we are going to play with bricks and chill out it's cold and blowy and I don't want to go out til school pick up!

splendide · 09/01/2015 09:30

We had a good night. He slept 10.30-5.30 then fed an hour but then went down again till 8. Nice! I probably should have woken him to feed earlier though really, I feel guilty.

goats I was just saying to DH last night that I feel like I'm never really comfy at the moment and I really miss it! Even when A is sleeping, I'm lying in some stupid contorted way scared to move in case I wake him. And we're still feeding all evening so I get a bit touched out.

Most of those things in your lists goats and bump, will come back. Those that don't you will remember with nostalgia from time BC (Before Children). In their place you will get:

  • Unconditional love
  • Watching all the baby firsts: First steps, first tastes, first words
  • The joy of taking stabilisers off their bike
  • Proud Mum watching school assembly
  • Discretely crying watching the school Christmas carol concert
  • First diddy league goal.
  • Thumbs up from afar as they spot you across the pool in their swimming lessons
  • Chasing the waves on a beach
  • Teaching them how to play a tune by blowing a blade of grass between their thumbs
  • Baking on wet Sundays
  • Hot chocolate (with marshmallows and squinty cream) after cold walks
  • Building snowmen
  • Christmas morning excitement
  • Water pistol battles against that are "everyone verses Daddy"
  • Rolling around in crispy fallen leaves
  • Digging holes.
  • Cuddly duvet days with the kids in onesies on the sofa watching three Disney films in a row.

I could go on and on....

Littlefeet26 · 09/01/2015 10:46

Oooh I like these lists! I miss:
Being able to sleep on my front (each time I do my boobs feel like they might actually explode!)
Popping into the shops for a quick look around
Being able to leave the house without it being a military operation
Not having to worry about money (although admittedly teachers maternity pay is fairly good initially)

Littlefeet26 · 09/01/2015 10:48

Aww fate your list just made me a bit teary Smile they are so totally worth it!

RudyTuesday · 09/01/2015 11:23

munday we had same problem. I think I'd neglected the cat's frontline cos busy with baby. Eventually noticed cat had fleas, treated him and they were back within a week. Phoned vet who said I need to treat house. It was so upsetting cos once saw flea on ds head. I felt terrible. After spending money on cans of stuff from shop I eventually called council who did it for 67 including second spray if needed. That was on Wed. I've combed cat and no sign so fx. Good luck, I know how gross it is x

FATEdestiny · 09/01/2015 11:35

That sounds a lot cheaper to treat the house for fleas than I was expecting. We haven't really had any major flea outbreaks but it was hard work to get rid of them two summers ago.

If I'd have realised that the council treating the whole house was only about £100 ish, I would have done that. I am certain we paid more than that in treatments for the dog and cats beds, carpets, beds etc. Will look into that if we reach that point again.

Pregnantagain7 · 09/01/2015 11:47

fate yes I expected it to be more there was a list of things we had to do before they would come-treat all the animals, pull all the furniture out, wash all bedding and Hoover everywhere just before they come.
We have wooden floors downstairs and the man said there was no need to spray them I insisted though because I'd read they can lay eggs in between the floor boards (plus I wasn't paying £100 for him to just do upstairs!)

R was crying in his rocking chair before and L tried to give him some of his cake. So cute even if he was squashing it into his head Grin
Oh well picking icing out of r's hair later will give me something to do!

BettyJudy · 09/01/2015 12:27

fate that list made me teary too! I definitely miss not having the body of a 99 year old woman though... So much stiffness, and aches.. Trying to start a bit of youtube yoga. Sod having a clean and tidy house, that can wait.

Kirstipops · 09/01/2015 12:35

Aww Fate that list is fab. Just what I needed today!

STIGZ · 09/01/2015 12:54

Aww pregnant sharing his cake with his wee brother Smile that is so so cute! Made me have a little smile, those kind of moments make it all worth while, heart melting !!

LebkuchenMonster · 09/01/2015 13:23

Fate lovely list. Had me nodding lots, particularly the swimming lesson thing, and choking back tears at carol concerts. And I can't wait to watch ds learning to roll and crawl and walk, and hear his cute baby versions of words.

sazzle I keep meaning to say, I feel like I could have written so many of your posts. I've also made a stab at going dairy-free for a while, but not been able to prove to myself conclusively either way whether it's helped ds. I also have to hold ds upright for a while post-feed which is a pain in the night. I wonder if I ought to be making more of an effort to settle ds without feeding to get him to go longer at night. Dd is starting school in September too and I'm worried that she will find it socially very stressful (although at least she will be 6). I'm even a freelancer who can't say no to work!

Hello new thread...
munday I completey agree re calpol, we had an inconsolable baby none of the usual would work but a dose of calpol and he was out like a light. Lo is defiantly teething, and is being extra fussy grrr...

Also he seems to be feeding a lot less than normal, I suppose I am used to the epic cluster feeds and I'm being paranoid! Getting him weighed next week so I suppose I can discuss with health visitor.

Dummy is saving our bacon for nap times I just have to stick at it, he often fights sleep

wondermoose13 · 09/01/2015 14:09

I forgot how tiring it is going to baby groups on so little sleep! Safely back on sofa with my nipple chewing monster feeling exhausted!
Also dh has booked us a swimming lesson trial for tomorrow which is exciting but its at 9am, 30mins from our house, i havent picked up my boots order which has the swim nappy in and dont get me started on how long its been since i shaved my legs :s
What if we all drown from lack of sleep? Lol
Also im assuming it will be separate m & f changing rooms as its a leisure club meaning i have to wrangle a wet angry baby into clothes by myself whilst also drying me which i find frankly terrifying!
Anyone who has done this, is there a trick to it?

Me23 · 09/01/2015 14:23

munday most vets don't advise frontline anymore as fleas have become immune to it. Advantage or advocate much better. For a bad infestation use a fortnight after 1st use then 4 weekly evermore. We had bad infestation but treated cats as above and hoovered everywhere a lot (throw bag/empty container each time) and we got rid.
