She slept three hours! Unfortunately I had to get up with a coughing MiniWil in between, but still! Is this the start of normality finally?

In bad mummy news I've had to close my door so the coughy toddler doesn't keep me awake. I feel so bad but I've given her water and medicine and she's not upset. She hates sleeping with us so wouldn't want that anyway. Poor thing.

Minion · 19/02/2015 10:13

Yay for. 3 hours wil and boo for little miniwil

I had another crap night. She was really busy and active in her cot again, we didn't sleep so I spent half the night in the nursery with her on me, still as anything. But half hour after putting her down she was active and loud again.
I'm shattered so knocked off rhyme time and snuggled on the sofa with her as soon as she yawned, which was only 30 mins after waking up.
We're not even dressed yet.
Taking her to get weighed this afternoon so may have to actually get off the sofa soon.

ZylaB · 19/02/2015 13:01

Just had H weighed again, she's gained 20g, it's a tiny amount (which would have been more if it hadn't been for the funniest/most impressive poo explosion in the changing table 2 mins beforehand) but it's in the right direction!! Next weigh in on sat and hope it continues going up, we've still got to offer top ups after every feed but she's often not interested, which I'm hoping means she's getting plenty from the boob.

Little steps :)

willywallace · 19/02/2015 13:11

That's great zyla, you're doing so well.

Aw Min, what a little monkey. Sometimes you're just as well to give it up as a bad job.

Is it ok to leave my kitchen like a bombsite in order to nap?

ZylaB · 19/02/2015 14:03

Of course it is wil! Go sleep :)

FurryScoob · 19/02/2015 14:50

After the sleep deprivation you've had wil your doing well if its only your kitchen that's a mess, my house is a tip.

Great news on the weight gain zyla

DD's 3 months old today, it's been the longest but quickest 3 months of my life & I can't believe how much she's changed already.

Minion · 19/02/2015 15:39

Happy 3 months little scoob!
Fab news on the weight gain zyla
And wil... Surely that's why we have sprogs, to get out of housework? No, just me?

Well little monkey has put on another pound nearly and now weighs in at 10lb 11oz at 8 weeks! They think the writhing around May be wind so earlier I have her some gripe water in her bottle.. Wowee that stuff gets things moving!
She was on a mat next to a ten week old and although looks younger facially, you should have seen the length difference in them. Ro was about 2 inches longer.
Blimey!

So, she is currently asleep. Yep you read that right, she is asleep! In her basket! And didn't wake up from her walk, normally wakes up as soon as were in the house.

Though I can hear her stirring. Still, little victories!

willywallace · 19/02/2015 17:11

Are you and MrMin both tall Min? Is Gripe water good then?

Happy 3 months wee Scoob. Definitely not just kitchen which is a state. Entire house. I just happened to be in kitchen when I was writing.

Keep forgetting which thread I'm on and writing baby stuff on the wrong one. She has started throwing up at every feed yet seems more settled in general. What's that about?

Minion · 19/02/2015 17:32

Not overly tall, I'm 5'9 and he's 5'11 I think. But I've got long torso and she's inherited it too. Already in 3-6 months clothes in some items, poor things arms are a bit short tho.
Gripe water seems to be ok at the mo'.
Brings some good burps up and she's trumping like a boss.

She's just passed out on me after her bottle so hoping that's her for the night. Husbands just come into with M&s Chinese so would be nice to eat it without velcro kid sticking to me.

willywallace · 19/02/2015 17:40

Her for the night at 5.30pm?! God half your luck! I can't say that until 1am.
Five foot nine is so tall.

Minion · 19/02/2015 18:50

Well not 100% down but relaxed etc. Trends to nod off around 7ish. She's on her way to the land of nod right now.
So girls, baby swim, yay or nay?

willywallace · 19/02/2015 18:52

Yay. We loved our swimming. I feel bad for her we're not going anymore.

Minion · 19/02/2015 19:46

Did you do the lessons or just go to a warmer pool?

willywallace · 19/02/2015 20:10

Did lessons with water babies. Was just a normal hotel pool so not warmer but got a wee wetsuit for her. Have since discovered some local classes which are less than half the price but saying that, they were really good.

JuniDD · 19/02/2015 20:33

Five foot nine is TALL.
DD is long though, so better get my head around it!

wil DD2 will get there with a bedtime. The nights of screaming we had and she wouldn't settle til half 12/half 11...killer. But she's down now for a good few hours so I'm having a bit of "me" time (MrJ in pub, yay!) and then going to bed. He's even moving out tonight so I don't have to listen to him sniffing and farting all night.

I seem to be on some sort of turbo today - went to the supermarket, did loads of washing and have even set up tomorrow's sensory play. This time last week I could barely get out of bed! I'm on less sleep too. Maybe it's overtiredness?!

willywallace · 19/02/2015 20:55

Oh you're so good with your sensory play. My two have to make do with playing amongst the mess! Actually I remember setting loads of stuff up for MiniWil when she was wee and she wouldn't touch any of it! Grin She hates things like rice, sand, grass and can't bear to have dirty hands. Can't even get her to paint.

JuniDD · 19/02/2015 21:01

Well, this is just a playmat with arch and mirror, rattles & stripey ball! I need to get some bubbles & think about some tray play. I really worry she doesn't have enough toys/enough variety so feels good to be organised.

Of course, plenty of children don't have lots of toys and develop just fine. I am eternally grateful to my SIL for giving me a load of stuff though!

Three bouts of overtired screaming today...so glad to be getting to bed early tonight. Feeling like a bit of a crap mummy this week, I hope next week is better.

willywallace · 19/02/2015 21:06

I have turned to wine since MrWil is out and I can't nap. It's my first drink since getting pregnant!

JuniDD · 19/02/2015 21:08

Hehe, you enjoy it. But I must tut at you a little as lying in a dark room is worth doing. Rest is as good as sleep! xx

willywallace · 19/02/2015 21:36

I know but I have a baby asleep on me and really need to watch eastenders Grin .

Minion · 20/02/2015 03:51

This is getting ridiculous.
For the Past two nights this one has been so active in her sleep, moving, grunting, restless. Starts off still as anything, put her down and boom. Off again.
I was up with her all lasy night, husband did a few hrs tonight and I've taken over.

She's fine sleeping on us, but as soon as she's in crib.
She's off again.
I don't know what to do.

willywallace · 20/02/2015 07:22

Her meds don't need to be adjusted for her weight? Do you swaddle her? Someone recommended those special swaddle wraps to me when they had a similar problem.

willywallace · 20/02/2015 07:24

Also do you wait until she's in a deep sleep before putting her down? If I put this one down too early I get the same problem. I wait until her beeathing is really shallow.

FurryScoob · 20/02/2015 07:34

Hope you've had some sleep last night wil

I've had the same problem min & so did quite a few of my NCT group. It could just be a phase & she'll grow out of it, DD still does it a couple of nights a week & wakes up knackered from the hours of wiggling she's been doing. She still does it in her big cot but doesnt bash her arms & head on the side.

Minion · 20/02/2015 08:57

Ahh good point about her meds. Ill ring docs to find out.
Yes to the deep sleep put down too. I wait for dummy out, mouth open and limp limb to signal it, sometimes I over wait and miss my window and have to wait 20 more mins, ha!
I do hope it's a phase. Bloody exhausting. For her, she's happy as a pig in shit!
