Hello Rubes!!!

Hope all goes ok Kayz.

Enjoying my running, but don't seem to be losing weight. bum.

beans39 · 11/02/2015 22:27

Jam, loving a staggering DS3. What a cutie.

Poor DD3. Just on night time kissing rounds and there was a nasty smell in her room. acid poo in nappy and horrid nappy rash for her. Not good. cue much screaming and a battle to apply metanium. horrid.

Janet the Cat is settling in. My lovely neighbour has whisked Chilli the Dog away for a couple of nights to allow Janet to relax a bit. she's got the run of the house in the day now and is seemingly a bit happier. v affectionate and friendly. keeps her distance from an overjoyed and overenthused DD3, which is sensible.
DH back from India on Saturday. I know we're getting on really well at the moment because I'm missing him. often I can't wait for him to go!!!

beans39 · 13/02/2015 00:47

Of course! All going too well. FH away, so DD3 pukes everywhere in the middle of the night. twice so far.

JamInMyWellies · 13/02/2015 06:49

Oh beans nightmare. Fingers crossed she is a bit better today and the others don't come down with it. If I can do anything to help just shout. X

JamInMyWellies · 13/02/2015 06:50

Kayz good luck at the hospital today

McKayz · 13/02/2015 07:48

Thanks Jam.

Hope DD3 is ok Beans and that no one else gets it.

Asparagui · 13/02/2015 09:46

Oh Beans, I'm right there with you, DS has commend violently every few hours since 1.30pm yesterday. Is there a worse part of parenting than the sick cleaning and anticipation of who might fall next?

Kayz, good luck at the hospital today. How are you feeling? Any more anxiety or panic? I'm glad you were able to stay at your mum's for a bit.

ZJ, so sorry to hear about your friend's baby. I hope they are doing OK.

Rubes, nice to see you! It's lovely that you have such an active social life around the school. I've never really bonded with the parents at either DD's school but that's probably because I'm only there on Fridays. At our school the at-home mums aren't so friendly to the working mums which I find really sad as I'm sure we have more in coon than we have that's different. Where's the new home? Can you link???

Jam, how are your move plans going? Did you commission that build.

Lady, it's lovely to hear DD3 is now Rasta I know she was windy for a while. I can't scroll back on my phone so all I remember is that you have exciting holiday plans but I can't remember where you are going! We are off to Crete at Easter then Devon and France in the summer. My more exotic trips are work based at the moment: after a fascinating week in Montserrat in the Carribean in Jan I am returning to Kosovo next month and Geneva/Strasbourg/Brussels/Copenhagen in one trip in April.

Rubes, you asked about the au pair situation. Thankfully the last one left on time and without too much fuss after she miraculously found a new host family who wanted her immediately. We have never heard from her again (yay!). Our new au pair is lovely, tidy and has a passion for cooking so keeps creating feasts for DH and I instead of letting us cook for her as we should. She does have a tendency to walk around semi-naked which DH finds awkward and I find hilarious but even that's reduced since Arthur started grabbing her bum and shouting "hi bum!!!" if it's not properly covered.

McKayz · 13/02/2015 12:22

He's having an emergency op tomorrow Sad

Honsandrevels · 13/02/2015 13:09

Oh dear Kayz, is the metal wedged in?

Beans Love the re-named cat. Very elegant.

I need to do a proper catch up but phone is about to go. Back later.

McKayz · 13/02/2015 13:35

No it's not Hons. But DS1 won't let them take it out.

McKayz · 14/02/2015 06:48

Setting off for hospital now. He doesn't seem too worried, just wants to know when he can eat.

TheInvisibleHand · 14/02/2015 18:16

hope all OK now Kayz

McKayz · 14/02/2015 18:43

Yes thanks. It all went well. His Dad came too and so he's gone to stay there until Monday. So I can relax now knowing it's all over.

MontserratCaballe · 15/02/2015 09:09

Glad it went well. What was it in the end? Has he kept it in a jar? Hope you get a restful day.

It was a bit of broken screw I think. They threw it out so I never got to see what it actually was.

TheInvisibleHand · 15/02/2015 10:43

ah well, glad all fine after all the worry and you got a chance to relax.

in an uncharacteristically bout of organization, finally booked our flights to Canada for the summer. v excited

IAmAPaleontologist · 15/02/2015 14:52

Glad the nose is metal free, the au pair vanished and was replaced by a newer model, holidays are being booked and other such things.

Can't wait until March and a short break. Still have substantial amounts of evidence file to do and not sure when I'm finishing it. Oh dear. This morning I went through the uni timetable system and noted down all my lectures from March until mid July. This afternoon I have emptied the understairs cupboard. Now I am surrounded by stuff that I need to throw out or tidy and put away but I CBA to do it.

Ho hum.

McKayz · 16/02/2015 18:51

I've got awful toothache. I went to the dentist today who said my tooth has to come out but wouldn't do it in front of Rosalie. Hoping to get an emergency appt tomorrow.

I hate toothache, would rather give birth with no pain relief.

MontserratCaballe · 20/02/2015 17:29

Where is everyone? Hope you are having a good half term. I am off to meet DH in town to go to the opera but he is massively held up so I might be sitting there alone. There is no interval either so my poor bladder is going to be challenged as well. OMG.

Have a good weekend everyone XXXXX

TheInvisibleHand · 20/02/2015 17:35

perversely I am on my way back from a work meeting in Cornwall to the family in London. This seems very wrong. Spent last night in a hotel full of half termers. but just couldn't work out a smart way to get everyone to the south west

MontserratCaballe · 20/02/2015 19:13

Where in Cornwall, invis? It's a long way.

I am in the bar sipping champagne alone. I look like a hooker. And not a successful one at that! Hope opera worth it.....

TheInvisibleHand · 21/02/2015 10:56

it was only just over the Devon border, but yes, bit of an epic expedition. Now on train north with DH and DCs to see FIL. Could do with a week that doesn't involve a long train journey. Hope the opera improved MC!

MontserratCaballe · 21/02/2015 11:03

I was approached by a friendly American who offered me to share his smoked salmon sandwiches. I declined. Opera itself was good though!

Invis, a lot of travel is very punishing. Take it easy this weekeend
