Paleo
we live in a village with no shop and our kids go to the school in the next door village. I do have to drive to get stuff, but it's only 5mins and not a killer. kind of used to it now. we ought to send our girls to the village school, but it's so small and Y1 has one girl and 6 boys in and Reception only has 5 boys. my DDs would have been miserable!!!

Kayz, these things are sent to try us. chin UP! Can you get any sleep in the day?

IAmAPaleontologist · 02/02/2015 13:04

Hope you've had some sleep kayz!

We already live in a village with no shop or school, moving to the other village would considerable increase distance. i think both dh and i have decided against, neither of us wants to be car reliant or to be taxi drivers for the dc when older. Where we are now they will be able to walk to the next village for the bus. If we moved out would be a good 3 miles to the bus stop. Plus it would mean the rare times we went out we'd either have a 3 mile walk from the last bus or we'd have to spend £30 on a taxi Grin .

MontserratCaballe · 02/02/2015 13:43

How is the sleeping going, Kayz?

Village - well, I live 2 mins from the A205 so no village life for me alas.

Am feeling old and fat today. Need to find my mojo again.

Sybs, you are neither fat nor old. you are fabulous and flirty. I miss you x

McKayz · 02/02/2015 18:23

I went to bed at half 7 Sunday night with the kids and we woke at 6. It was lovely.

beans39 · 03/02/2015 19:06

Tra la la la la! I am trying to stay awake while DDs 1&2 do colouring before bed. head nodding. not sure why. am just zonked.

cat arriving later this week. yay! black and white 4 year old rescue cat. couldn't have been more cuddly and affectionate when I met her. But I didn't have the girls with me. apparently she likes kids. god I hope so.

Honsandrevels · 03/02/2015 19:16

Ooh exciting about the new eyes Beans. I once fell asleep in my contact lenses and for a split second (actually more than that embarrassingly!) I thought my short sightedness had been cured. Like Paleo I used to wear contacts but my eyes became so dry.

As a teenager lots of my friends lived in villages with no bus or a weekly bus out of term time! Their parents were forever driving them or else paying for taxis. That would put me off a house in the country.

Beans The cat may be aloof while she settles in but she'll be great. Our cats have grown up with the dds and are v tolerant.

McKayz · 04/02/2015 07:16

I am a bloody moron. I fell asleep last night playing on my phone. I managed to ring XH at 0219 and then woke myself up by starting my music.

I'm hoping he sleeps with his phone on silent.

beans39 · 04/02/2015 20:32

I am doing some of the smelliest farts of my life. I hope DH isn't home too soon.

beans39 · 04/02/2015 20:34

He may die.

beans39 · 04/02/2015 20:39

Phew. he won't be back til really late, lucky chap.

IAmAPaleontologist · 04/02/2015 20:53

Kayz you muppet!

Beans I may love you Grin

I do really smelly ones when I'm due on. I'm always a, erm, gaseous person but when I'm due on I just have a continual stream of stench coming form my backside. I'm a delightful person to know Hmm.

MontserratCaballe · 05/02/2015 07:32

Bless you, beans, for your kind words. Am pre menstrual which explains the fat but not the old. I am worried if I get offered a seat it is for elderly rather than pregnant reasons. I have crossed the line, it seems.

Dd2 really poorly but stoically going to school. I have had 3 hours sleep so feel your pain a little, Kayz. Did you get any further with the sleep consultant?

Only a week and a bit to half term. Counting the days.

Have a good day ladies xxx

McKayz · 05/02/2015 17:02

Not yet Sybs. I'm going to try to get her in her bed during half term. Then it's ok if she keeps the boys up. There's a 'no cry sleep solution' book for toddlers and children up to 6. So I've reserved it at the library. Might be better than the baby one for us.

I hate swimming lessons. DS1's yesterday and DS2's today. It's always roasting and its horrible.

McKayz · 06/02/2015 07:22

I've lost a stone now in 3 weeks. I'm putting a lot of it down to not eating much last week due to the tonsillitis. But I'm pleased.

JamInMyWellies · 06/02/2015 11:06

Well done Kayz that is fab. Sybs Shoah woman you are fab!

Beans??????????????Grin

beans39 · 06/02/2015 18:43

I have put on 3lbs. maybe because DH took me out to a Thai restaurant last night on last min date and I ate my body weight in pad thai. yum. it was worth it. I'll lose it. one day. maybe.

it was hairwash night tonight. was remarkably painless. phew. good thing as I have a belting headache and no patience.

McKayz · 06/02/2015 22:56

Just got home from A&E with DS1. He's put a bit of metal in his ear. He wouldn't let them take it out so need to wait for an ent appointment.

Just got into bed and can't stop crying. Sad

beans39 · 07/02/2015 14:05

Oh Kayz, hope he's ok.

We've got a CAT! She's called Janet (now) and is the cuddliest thing ever. yay!

she was called Tinkerbell
, but we couldnt stomach it. too twee and girlie.

beans39 · 07/02/2015 14:05

DH done with too girlie stuff!

McKayz · 07/02/2015 21:40

It never rains etc!

Just waiting to be picked up from A&E. I had a panic attack, they think caused by a lack of sleep and being worried about DS1. I never want to go to A&E again after having 2 trips in 2 nights.

MontserratCaballe · 08/02/2015 12:16

Kayz, you poor love, you do such a great job managing the 3 kids by yourself. I know R is still around but you shoulder the day to day so brilliantly. Anyone would be knackered, let alone with DD not sleeping. Your DS1 is the same age as my DD2 (almost to the day - mine's the 19th) and they are contrary buggers. When your appointment comes through, he may feel very differently. What is the metal? Did the hosp just say wait for the appointment? If so, it's unlikely to be problematic in the meantime. Sending you huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge hugs and lots of love across the ether Flowers

OP posts:
McKayz · 08/02/2015 17:37

Thanks Sybs. I've no idea what the metal is, neither does DS1. The hospital said to just wait for the appointment unless it starts to hurt.

I slept at my Mums last night and we've been here all day. I had a bath with no interruptions which was lovely. It's nice to relax.

JustRubes · 09/02/2015 14:09

Hi ladies! Grin deary me - have just read through the whole thread and didn't realise I hadn't posted once. Have skimmed a bit. Nice thing was I didn't have to wait in real time for Jammy's result - so pleased for you - My heart only sank for about 60 seconds (I skimmed until Mondays posts after reading that) I'm finding real life quite busy - despite not working much I'm quite involved helping at school (and going to the gym) and carnage type nights out with friends Grin
We have potentially bought a house but it's all hanging on the flat sale going through as there's been a few hiccups, and our track record with house buying hasn't been great thus far! So fingers crossed, as it's a goody to extend.
Well done on the laser Beans, and the arrival of Janet (hilarious name change!)
Sorry to hear about your friends baby Z Sad
Arti what happened with the Au Pair in the end?
Kayz is all ok?? Sounds stressful - hope ds OK and you need to relax. Bloody brilliant on the weight loss. I've cut back on Spinning as I was getting bigger thighs Shock ok more toned but still jeans were going spray on so have stepped up running again as better for me and cut spinning back to twice a week.
Lady have you got another sleepy sleepy baby - lucky you for bredding such layed back littles - need a catch up [broken record]
Better go as need a shower before school run.
Will try to keep up - My phone app for MN password not working - that's partly my excuse Grin

McKayz · 09/02/2015 14:30

The hospital just rang. Got to take DS1 in on Friday. So at least he won't miss any school as its a training day.
