I have tonsillitis. Sad I feel absolutely dreadful.

ZuleikaJambiere · 28/01/2015 20:34

Hope all the poorlies are feeling better very soon, and the lasering is a success on Friday Beans

I've had the saddest news today - a friend from DD2s post natal club had a gorgeous Dd about 3 weeks ago. This little baby has severe heart problems and had her first operation at less than 24 hours old. She faced several more, but having been transferred to Leeds and this week to London, the Drs have said they can't fix her. Her parents have decided not to operate for the sake of it and to let nature take its course, which apparently will just be days. Heart breaking, I'm so sad for them. My girls have been held very tightly tonight

IAmAPaleontologist · 28/01/2015 20:38

Heartbreaking ZJ. Life is so very very cruel.

Honsandrevels · 28/01/2015 20:44

That's awful ZJ. So sad. Wishing your friend lots of love and strength.

Kayz I had tonsillitis 16 years ago and can still remember how painful it was. Hope you feel better soon.

Beans I did laugh at what you said about finally being able to see to shave your legs in the shower. I know that feeling. I've also showered and only noticed a huge spider on the wall post shower! Damn my crap eyes!

JamInMyWellies · 28/01/2015 22:52

ZJ how very sad. Your poor friends. Will be giving my monsters an extra squish in the morning.

beans39 · 29/01/2015 09:18

Oh ZJ. That's so sad. I am full of admiration for them for making that decision; it must be so very hard when all you want to do is fight. makes me cry.

PS I wish I'd read this last night so I hadn't been such a total bitch to my children this morning. feel so guilty. the two oldest keep waking me up either in the night or at about 6, to tell me they can't find something, or about a dream. It's so bloody frustrating, when I've finally got DD3 sleeping through til a decent hour. I went skitz this morning. aaagh.

and I'm feeling bad because this is the second day in a row that the dog won't get a walk. sick child yesterday and Action Tots for DD3 this morning means it's impossible. aaargh.

ZuleikaJambiere · 29/01/2015 09:29

Don't worry Beans, I gave my girls extra cuddles last night, woke them with I love yous this morning. And then bawled at DD1 for dawdling, so I'm also feeling like a bitch. And I'm now half an hour late for work on appraisal day, so I'm a shit Mum and a shit employee. But at least we can do better tomorrow

JamInMyWellies · 29/01/2015 13:43

I am the same. I spent the last 2 weeks sobbing every time I looked at the boys then got the ok from the Drs on Monday afternoon and by Tuesday morning was shouting at them to get ready for school.

McKayz · 29/01/2015 17:24

ZJ that is so sad.

Do you think some people just can't swim no matter how many lessons they have? DS2 has been having weekly lessons for a year now and doesn't seem to be getting any better. He just doesn't kick his legs.

ZuleikaJambiere · 29/01/2015 19:04

If we look at it this way, we're just being good parents by keeping everything shouty as normal, despite our other worries ... or something

beans39 · 30/01/2015 13:29

am in waiting room for eye laser. constant low grade panic poo need. am terrified.

McKayz · 30/01/2015 14:21

It'll be fine Beans!

Yay Beans in HD!

ZuleikaJambiere · 30/01/2015 20:05

That's ace Beans

beans39 · 31/01/2015 14:31

Anyone considering it? It's @@#$#@@ing expensive, but my GOD it's worth it. I drove myself to the station this morning for my check up. I can pretty much see everything. eyes a bit dry aand lots of drops to apply every couple of hours, but it's no hassle and I've even got an app that reminds me when to do it.

I patted the bedside table for my specs this morning, then realised they are no longer a requirement to my life!!!! bliss.

IAmAPaleontologist · 31/01/2015 15:22

I'd love to have it done, I hate wearing glasses, I hate how I look in them. I used to wear contacts but stopped being able to, my eyes go all dry and horrible when I wear them.

What was it like when they were doing it?

Sadly I can't exactly justify the expense at the moment.

Also, what are the chances of your eyes deteriorating again? Mine get a little bit worse every year. I'd hate to have it done and thena couple of years later have to wear glasses again.

McKayz · 31/01/2015 16:36

My brothers girlfriend is thinking of having it done. She seems quite keen.

I've lost another 5lb but I haven't eaten much this week due to the tonsillitis. So I am expecting to put some back on.

IAmDeids · 31/01/2015 17:07

beans it sounds AMAZING!! I really want mine doing but just cannot afford it at the mo. Might look into it for my birthday but that's not till November Hmm Hmm

IAmAPaleontologist · 31/01/2015 17:22

Argh!

Further to our "we want more space but don't want to leave this area" flirtation with the over priced project that someone else selfishly bought before we could beat the owners to a lower price, we viewed this today.

It isn't really 5 bed. It is 4 plus a storage area. But if you got rid of the bathroom in the loft then you could have 2 bedrooms up there. I don't know. If it were in this village then yes. I think. It does need some stuff doing to it which at that price we can't really afford, but it has LPG and a nice garden. But also we'd want to knock those rooms around and put a bath in the main bathroom and replace all the carpets and skim a load of artex (much like here then!) and put a fire in as it has been taken out and I refuse to own a house with no fire. But the downstairs space is brilliant. It is the next village along from us in the other direction. In that school and shops are not in our village, they are in a village a mile walk away. This is a mile and a half in the other direction so too far really to walk to school and shops so we'd be very reliant on the car which I am unsure about. Decisions decisions. I can't get my head around the bedroom space. As it stands it doesn't give us more bed space than we have at the moment.

McKayz · 31/01/2015 17:41

I quite like that Paleo. I would love a cellar. No idea why but I would.

The travelling to school is a bit of a pain though.

IAmAPaleontologist · 31/01/2015 18:10

It isn't so much travelling to school, we tend to drive anyway what with childcare drop offs and work etc but it is nice to walk when we can. But at weekends, evenings and so on if we need to go to the shops for milk, newspaper and stuff we walk. I don't like the idea of having to get the car just because I've run out of milk and bread.

McKayz · 01/02/2015 06:32

DD was awake until about 4am. Not sure why but we ended up on the sofa.

I feel awful and just want to cry a lot.
