Jo - thanks for posting that link. I'm often out of touch with other threads these days. Poor, poor Misdee.

It really makes you reflect on your good fortune.

We've just had a magical weekend away - staying first with friends, and then some cousins of mine. The friends live in a flat which has access to a private pool where we swam twice, which thrilled the girls, as our local pool where dd1 has swimming lessons has been shut for 5 weeks due to storm damage. Iris adores bobbing about in her armbands splashing and kicking her legs like fury, shouting "this way, this way" and then trying to swim to the side to jump in, repeating "nearly there, nearly there" to herself!

Hello Ladies!!

Very quiet.Maybe it is half term?

Leo-was thinking of you these days.I met my classmate and she is pregrant second time with twins and some friends in UK had a boy and named him after my dh(i am very proud of this fact) so i thought "Maybe Leo is having the twins right at this moment .And if you are-then all my happy vibes are sent to you!!

Busy-how is Hannah,is she getting well.Wishing her a quick recovery.

Ksenia for the first time if her life said that she loves somebody.Unfortunally it is not me,her mum but her granddad. But it was so sweet and i think i even saw a tear in mu dad's eye.

And i had some very unpleasnt time at the local police station.i had my digital camera stolen yeasterday by local trouble kids.i know that it was them but i cannot prove it with clear evedidence.I heard these kids cry,and pray that it was somebody else.Anyway, they were set free and tomorrow i am gonna write an official statement and let the court decide.

Hey, anyone left on this thread or is it just me talking to me????

HAAPY BIRTHDAY TO SERENA AND CALEB!!!!!
Wish you lots of fun and have a lovely day!!

ok,if anyone still alive keep on touch!!

jambot · 21/02/2007 16:26

Goodness, it is quiet. Where is everyone. Waiting with bated breath to hear from Leo. Are you still with us Leo?

Pidge · 21/02/2007 21:28

I'm here!!

Just frantically busy at work - no holiday plus overtime required and everyone is jumping up and down trying to get things finished!

And I got ill at the weekend which wiped out about 4 days, very annoying. Am now fighting fit, and playing catchup on my marathon training. Did 10 miles last night, 4 in my lunchhour and am just celebrating with a very very large glass of wine (who am I kidding, I'm on glass 3).

Leo ..... ??????

I cannot believe it is second birthday time already? We don't have babies any more do we.

jambot · 22/02/2007 17:21

No, not babies anymore - just bloody minded, stroppy toddlers! Lauren has decided to exert herself in a big way this week, with us constantly having a battle of wills over everything. She's either winging or playing silly buggers with me, thinking it's very funny to do exactly the opposite of what I want her to do!!!!! I've also hurt my back, so am staggering around in agony. Must have overdone it at gym.

Just ordered Lauren's birthday cake. She's having a turtle, because for some reason that's the only animal that she's interested in. So am going to do a bit of an underwater theme, with fishy shaped biscuits, octopus marshmallows etc.

Hope you're feeling better Pidge.

Pidge · 22/02/2007 19:12

I seem to be totally recovered from last weekend's bug, hopefully will be fighting fit this weekend as I'm due to run 16 miles - yikes!

jambot - hope your back heals up soon - sounds like a good reason to avoid the gym for a while.

I was thinking tonight how much Iris is a little girl these days. The childminder has been making an effort to potty train her - and she is weeing on the potty!! We now need to be less slack and try to show willing on this front at home.

And you can really have a proper conversation with her now. I asked her who she played with at the childminders today and she said "Rory", then there as a long pause and she said "Rory was crying a lot", so I said "oh dear, why was that?", there was an even longer pause and then finally, looking somewhat sheepish, she said "Me push Rory". Ooops! We agreed that was a very bad idea.

We are also in another bedtime story rut - Iris gets obsessed with one particular thing and wants it night after night. At the moment it is "Mr Gumpy's Outing" which is very charming, but I confess I'm getting a little bored with the plot after a month of nightly readings!

busywizzy · 22/02/2007 21:20

Hello everyone. Glad to hear Harrison isn't the only one who's hit the terrible two's early. He went down with a viral bug last Friday and has been covered in a rash ever since. He was an absolute horror whilst he was poorly and although his health's improved, his behaviour hasn't. We have major tantrums about all sorts - today it was that he had to have water in his cup and not in a glass like I was drinking from, that I wouldn't let him leave the house wearing a pair of shorts over his trousers and because I stopped him brushing his teeth after we'd been at the sink for 15 minutes. I'm exhausted !!!

I've had the week off work for half-term and had planned all sorts of nice outings but Harrison was ill, then Hannah got it and now DH is poorly. The furthest I've been all week is the chemist.

Dead impressed by Iris weeing in the potty. Harrison loves to sit on his but only for about 2 seconds then he likes to carry it to a new spot and sit again. This gets repeated about a dozen times and all the while, he's fully dressed. Not holding out much hope that we'll be nappy free in our house for quite some time.

Keep wondering about Leo. Wonder if they're a family of 5 yet???

busywizzy · 22/02/2007 21:27

These are the books Harri likes reading - all Julia Donaldson and all recycled from Hannah Room on the Broom, Squash and a Squeeze, Snail and the Whale. He also likes Monkey Puzzle but can't remember who wrote that and too lazy to go and get it to see. His other favourite is Duck and the Truck by Jez Albrough and we've read that so many times that I can recite it walking up the stairs when he's too tired for a story but insisiting he gets one

Pidge · 22/02/2007 21:33

Ooh yes - busy - I'd forgotten about Duck in a Truck ... am going to dig it out right now and see if we can get off Mr Gumpy! We have Room on the Broom somewhere too.

Weeing on the potty is yet to happen at home. I think the childminder bribes her with raisins when she has a success, to that might be the trick !

JoPG · 22/02/2007 22:21

The Smartest Giant in Town gets my vote!

Freya enjoys all things Maisy though, and loves her Maisy books, esp the Halloween one - which is getting kind of a bore now a whole 4 months after Halloween!

Hello!!!
There you are!!!Last week i had athought that you left this thread and made a new one. Just read all your messages.Well.Ksenia is not an example of the best behaved baby but at least one thing off my list is potty training. She does it all by herself and then comes to me and announce the result with her pants down. And she looks so funny walking like that around the house. And the second achievment-we even stop to wear a nappy when going out.

About the books.Ksenia has been obbsessed with them for the last 7-8 ms.And now she can actually tell some stories.not the whole story but she will tell the end of sentense. And i only tried the russian story about a hen who laid the golden egg and one verse of a russian poetess.but i bet she knows more.

We were lucky these days not to catch a cold or flu coz it is an epidemy here. All schools are closed and there is no public gatherins. And now the killerfrorst came back so couple of days more on no more flu.

HAAPY BIRTHDAY TO LITTLE NICKLAS!!!!!!!Enjoy this day and wish you to have lots of fun and presents.Hugs,Ksenia

JoPG · 23/02/2007 18:34

Gosh you guys are organised / have good memories. I can barely remember my own birthday these days! Hope Niklas had a great day. The BIG question is .... did he celebrate it as an older brother?!!!

popsycal · 23/02/2007 19:25

quick peek in.....

jambot · 26/02/2007 13:41

The wait is killing me Leo!!!!

JoPG · 26/02/2007 20:51

Not that I am stalking her or anything, but have checked on Leo in March 2007 ante natal thread and they haven't heard from her for a few days. They are expecting an announcement soon.

Pidge · 26/02/2007 21:31

oooooooooh - the tension mounts

jambot · 27/02/2007 07:46

Momentous Moment in Lauren's life... (drum roll)...first poo on the potty!!! Did it justice by depositing an enormous turd. DH couldn't believe the thing had come out of a 2 year old and her mother was so excited by this big event!! Hopefully this is the begining of the end for day nappies.
My friend in Australia had her little boy yesterday. He's the one diagnosed with dwarfism. Apparently he is otherwise healthy. Is having tests today to determine the extent of the condition.
Lauren's favourite books at the moment are a range from Ladybird called ' I can Help'. Various topics such as cooking, shopping, cleaning etc, with pop out pieces that you use throughout the book and put onto different pages as the story progresses.

ukrainianmum · 27/02/2007 13:33

Hello!!

No news....

Any way there are three options:
1)boy&boy
2)Girl &gilr
3)50/50

So,which one is the winner??

JoPG · 27/02/2007 13:37

I seem to recall that they are identical twins, so either 2 girls or 2 boys.

Congrats to Lauren! I can't wait for a nappy free household, will be so lovely to go out without having to worry about nappies.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 28/02/2007 12:29

Hurray for Lauren I'd quite like it if Sylvia decided to use the potty for herself rather than her toys... After initial first successes at potty training, no further developments at all.

Sylvia's been poorly for a week, her first big illness but she's all fine now, totally recovered. It will take her ages to catch up the lost weight.

Fingers crossed for Leo. I'll check here to read of her news.

ukrainianmum · 01/03/2007 12:37

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SYLVIA!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
