Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

CJ I've got treatment for my nipples just in case, they're pink and getting that tell tale tingle. Lil only has a v mild case so far so the doc suggested probiotics (something which can also help with colic and CMPI), we give Jonas infant probiotics as it can help CMPI recovery so I'm giving her that this weekend, if its worse on Monday I'll get nystatin or daktarin. We used daktarin last time (with j) is that the best bet? Or nystatin? I'm taking probiotics too.

Sorehead · 28/11/2014 23:52

yellow- we have nystatin for DS's oral thrush. No experience of the alternative but it seems to be clearing up nicely on this treatment. It smells gorgeous too (cherry). Only thing I dislike is that it's yellow, so when DS slobbers some of it out i end up with attractive yellow patches on me- he always waits until there's no bib and he's resting his mouth directly on me!

Hope Lil is feeling better after injections.

Very jealous of those of you with a (well deserved) night off....enjoy! GrinWine

Hope everyone else has a good night :)

Gah, not sure how long it takes the side effects of iron supplements to leave the body (I've been off them nearly a fortnight) but the constipation they had caused now has me suspecting it's resulted in piles Blush Never had them before so not sure what to look for but after a very undignified look down there i can't see anything untoward, but the loo bowl and tissue were bloody after my last bowel movement. I'm only in discomfort when I'm actually ON the loo so I'm wondering if it's just a mild case of it so some ice or cream/ointment may get rid of it, any suggestions? Sorry for far TMI but hey we're all friends here now Grin

Happytimes31 · 29/11/2014 00:12

So screaming baby all evening even when on the boob ( is this normal???) and feeding all the time, the dreaded growth spurt?

MundayCakes85 · 29/11/2014 00:16

Kirsti sounds like me- internal piles so nothing to see. Low point of my day was thinking I was having a good poo and realising I'd just had a pile pop out instead Sad Blush
I only wanted 1 hour to soak in the bath after a busy day at the doctors and walking miles and keeping E entertained but everyone wanted me- DH couldn't cope as E was crying and hungry again and the cat couldn't be parted from me so took up residence on the mat.
When do you lot manage to fit in "me time"?

ExcitedCJ · 29/11/2014 01:38

Yellow good plan, I'll go to the health food store & get some probiotics. I remember them making a big difference to my DD & her reflux. Hopefully they will stop the dreaded thrush in DS & help with reflux too. Hope Lil gets better soon.
Munday sure... What would you want me time for? It does get better & 'me time' gets much more delicious! Wink
Kirsti I too have what I think is a pile but I have not been brave enough to look! I just sometimes feel an addition that used not to be there! Was thinking of tying a bit of thread around it, like a wobbly tooth, & giving it a pull! (joking)
My poor bub (& me) his cough woke him & he his now sleeping on me, no feed required. Can't wait to stock up on sleep when this goes.
It's nearly time for a new thread, would someone with more skill than me like to oblige?

Sorehead · 29/11/2014 02:47

kirsti- how much blood? Could it just be that because things are quite hard, it's caused a slight tear when you've been to the toilet? I've had that before now (sorry, also TMI!)

happy- no idea re: crying whilst feeding. Is it a grumpy cry or a pain related one? Either way, I hope it stops soon.

munday- I'm finding time for myself rather elusive at the moment too. Didn't manage to clean my teeth/ get dresses until DH got home from work at 2pm. When he does take DS, there are always bottles or clothes to be washed or sleep to catch up on and I can't remember the last time I hoovered so definitely no time for a relaxing bath!

excited- your poor little man! I hope he's feeling better soon!

ohthegoats · 29/11/2014 03:44

Gah, woke up with rock hard boobs even though she wasn't awake. Got her to almost feed while still asleep to relieve the torpefo, but she's now out of it again, so here I am at 4am expressing from the other boob.

is it actually possible to get a through the night sleeper if you exclusively breastfeed? Do you have to train your boobs too?

YellowWellies · 29/11/2014 03:52

Goats yep my DS slept through from 13 weeks (not every night but certainly 2-3 times a week). It became less painful boob-wise naturally.

Munday me what? Wink Wait til the wee buggers follow you into the loo to continue a conversation making their demands. And yes I could lock the door but then I might be too slow running to him if he decides upon some particularly perilous stunt. Seriously, once we'd got a bedtime established I used to get plenty of me time on an evening but that took 3-4 months last time before he didn't need to cluster feed. It does come.

Happytimes31 · 29/11/2014 04:25

sore difficult to tell! Could be utter frustration with the boob as he does seem to choke on it a bit or pain from wind (which I think I can hear and he does a lot of burping). Okay seems to happen in the evening (used to be 11 pm ish now more like 9-10 ish). Just horrible as it is like my boob is making him cry Sad

Happytimes31 · 29/11/2014 04:31

He also furiously paddles his legs at the same time and scrabbles with his hands

tattyblue · 29/11/2014 04:34

Call me a slattern, by if it's a choice between hoovering and having a bath, I say take the bath.

BadgerInBury · 29/11/2014 05:01

Hmmm. My night off didn't go quite to plan. Had to go to the supermarket (our least favourite pastime) and by the time we got home it was coming up
9pm and too late to be bothered cooking so had toast for dinner. Cold toast, because BB started grizzling... and wouldn't settle so
I didn't have my glass of wine in case we needed the Boob Of Last Resort. I got to bed at 11pm but then woke up to screeching baby and very stressed and exhausted DP at 2.15am. Ended up sending him to bed and I've only just managed to settle her enough to stay asleep while I got the Moses basket upstairs. Oh well, pyjama day all round tomorrow, I think.

Missus2ndwife · 29/11/2014 06:26

I also had a very unsettled & grizzly baby until well after midnight and then brought him into bed at some stage. Hubbie just rolled over and went to sleep :-/

Kirsti - it could be a tear. The glamour of having a baby

I've noticed I've started grinding my teeth at night again. Clearly this baby is more stressful than I thought

tattyblue · 29/11/2014 07:08

What a weird night. The baby has basically been asleep since two yesterday afternoon, waking every two hours through the night to feed like a grunting, slobbering maniac before conking out again. When she finally wakes up, is she going to be an inch longer? or possibly will she have transformed into something else entirely? I'm a bit worried she's going to turn her head towards me, open her eyes, and they'll be glowing red.

YellowWellies · 29/11/2014 07:10

Happy could it be that your letdown is too forceful? Google it.

ExcitedCJ · 29/11/2014 07:27

like a grunting, slobbering maniac GrinGrin Tatty have the number of a local priest on hand just in case!

tattyblue · 29/11/2014 07:51

CJ that's what I'm thinking.

fedupofrainydays · 29/11/2014 08:00

What an awful night! Up every hour or less and can't work out of it's his cold or cough or wind... And now ds1 is here wanting to play.
DH is probably upstairs hungover / asleep. I know he's had a hard week at work but so have I doing it all on my own and want some help..

sazzlehopes · 29/11/2014 08:07
