I'm breastfeeding for ten hours a day. Why on earth have I got my sodding period?!?

fedupofrainydays · 14/11/2014 19:11

You sure it's thst badger? I had a bit around six weeks but think just some residual bleeding as wasn't much really abd no other symptoms

MundayCakes85 · 14/11/2014 19:13

Oh poor you Badger you poor sod. Go get a hot water bottle and mainline some chocolate. DD is almost 5 weeks and I'm still bleeding (lochia) Looking forward to that finishing before I get my period Grin

Yes, I'm sure and my doctor confirmed it after checking all was ok with my stitches and so forth. I've got that heavy, draggy feeling, spots and sore boobs (which makes bf a treat). Doctor said it can happen - I'm just one of the "lucky" ones Hmm

fedupofrainydays · 14/11/2014 19:51

That sucks Sad

fedupofrainydays · 14/11/2014 20:10

30 seconds into children in need and I'm crying

YellowWellies · 14/11/2014 20:22

Tatty Goats Porcito that's how I dress when baby wearing too. She's too hot in anything else. And so am I! Especially when pushing the toddler's buggy up a hill. Its like having a farting, grunting electric blanket.

Today was a freezing Scottish monsoon but 2 year old boys get cabin fever very quickly and descend into bookcase climbing and cat litter eating (really! Envy ) very quickly so we walked to soft play, then on a bus to my sister's pal's, then walked to my sister's. I'm walking about 3-5 miles a day with a 12kg tot in a buggy and 3kg tot in a sling and this is making lots of my friends go nuts that I'm doing too much post CS (7 weeks ago?), but I feel fine and my wound has totally healed (on the surface at least and its not painful at all), its not too much if it doesn't feel too much is my logic - is that daft? My sister's pal had her DS the day after me also by CS and she's not managed to leave the house with both kids yet so that made me feel I'm being a bit reckless. But I'd need to be sectioned after too long in the house with a toddler Confused .

I'm very chuffed to discover an awesome toddler safe soft play perfect for BF Lil and nattering with pals that's the right size for a kamikaze 2 year old and doesn't warrant me having to clamber up in the tunnels after him to rescue him whilst BF, which happened at t'other soft play place. I bumped into a colleague with her 2 year old twins so was glad I was sitting down like a sane person. I was in TOTAL AWE of her Mummy skillz.

Monster yes Lil doesn't reflux now I am not eating soy or dairy so its worth a shot. The dreaded 'colic' has also avoided us so far possibly for the same reason. This time with J he was screaming and back arching in agony, utterly inconsolable for 6+ hours a night until I cut dairy and he got reflux meds. Lil couldn't be more different. I hope she stays this content. Its horrible to see them in pain.

I did realise today how wee she is compared to my sister's pal's 7 weeker who was born at term. Adjusted age I suppose she's only 10 days old. September my DD was born the day before yours Smile . I'm past the 6 week growth spurt and into the delightful BF period and enjoying it lots as she's my last too. Especially as she's down to one night feed (for now). Famous last words. The first rule of a vaguely sleeping baby is the same as the first rule in fight club. Wink

MundayCakes85 · 14/11/2014 20:26

Can I ask if anyone has started DTD yet?
I've finally sorted myself out found out the hedge trimmer and checked out my cut. And apart from looking like Scarface and having no back pelvic floor muscles I might instigate things this weekend. Am I mental?!?

Hmm I knew tonight wasn't going to be straight forward because dp was out. R has been settling really well at around 7 tonight he decides to wake after forty five mins and not go back to sleep so have resorted to his chair and rocking with my foot whilst on the ipad! But now we have problem I need the toilet do I stop rocking which will result in crying baby? Or do I hold on hoping I won't poo on the sofa?! Which is possibility with a pelvic floor like mine Grin
Come on little man close those eyes!!

No mundy not dtd yet but only because I've not sorted contraception and after getting pregnant so quickly last time not a chance dp is coming near me til I'm safely on the pill :)

fedupofrainydays · 14/11/2014 20:45

No dtd yet either. As much as poor dh wants to! Although I'm wondering If I subconsciously want to as he said "dyldyl" and I heard dildo. .....oops Blush

YellowWellies · 14/11/2014 20:52

Munday yes we've been DTD fairly regularly (I know! Shock ) since week 4 post CS and it feels much more comfy than last time post baby when a couple of positions were a bit sore for a while. I don't know why but we always get a good night's sleep after - maybe Lil is traumatised in the bednest after hearing her olds shag Grin .

Missus2ndwife · 14/11/2014 21:07

I am so NOT dtd for a VERY long time now with my pelvic floor issues!! Have told hubbie and he is NOT happy Grin

horseyhelen · 14/11/2014 21:13

FSmileound the new thread. Thanks for reassurance yellow and fed up just surprised by both the long sleep and then not the crazy boobs, that is something I am glad to miss this time round. Fedup our usual sleep pattern is every 2 to 3 hours so very out of the normal for me and probably a one time occurrence

YellowWellies · 14/11/2014 21:17

Pebble, Me J was just like that. He was only calm in the ergo carrier. It's so hard, his cries used to go right through me. Its only now having a calm content baby (which he could have been earlier if I'd figured the dairy problem out quicker) that I realise how tough it was last time and how that's not the norm. I hope it passes quickly Thanks

I've just found out a friend fell down the stairs last week with her 14 week old DD and broke her DDs femur. The poor wee tot is in traction Shock !

horseyhelen · 14/11/2014 21:23

Boo to periods and fair play to those DTD. I am sure I could but just feeling so exhausted all the time also bit unsure on contraception method, I know mini pill can be used while bf but I sadly got pregnant with this method soon after having DD which resulted in miscarriage. At my 6 week check I asked doc about mirena coil and he seemed unsure if it would effect bf has anyone got any experience?

tattyblue · 14/11/2014 21:23

Today the infant has learned to roll off me. Because she doesn't smile yet she does this with a look of grimness which I find hilarious. It's the first proper definite skill she's got though and it feels really good.

Re: baby wearing. It feels really wrong not to stick a hat on her, but if she's really warm against me then is no hat okay?

We've been dtd since about week three. It cheers me up. But the baby was so small I got off lightly I think with only a graze and a couple of stitches ( feel like a child birth fraud ).

YellowWellies · 14/11/2014 21:39

My pelvic floor isn't putting me off DTD but it is putting me off running Blush . My first run post J had me running home for a tena lady after a matter of minutes. My old running coach is a pilates instructor, she runs pelvic floor workshops. Once I can leave Lil for a couple of hours, I'm going to attend one. Then I'd feel happier running. Mindset with two I'm not sure when I'll be able to fit in regular runs? I've got a pelvic floor toner - its like a sporty dildo, haven't braved it yet.

ohthegoats · 14/11/2014 21:41

I'm waiting for 6 week check until sex, but have been up for it for awhile. Just want stitches checked, well to check they've gone - I can't tell, and boyfriend doesn't want to check.

Missus2ndwife · 14/11/2014 21:46

Hahaha Yellow! You just made me laugh out loud!! Running for a tena lady!!
Alas my pelvic flood collapsed and we thought it was a prolapse.... the thought of hubby squeezing his wiener into my vag and past the bulge makes me cross my legs Shock

Aah just seen the John a Lewis penguin ad... I want a penguin !!

YellowWellies · 14/11/2014 22:23

Missus "pelvic flood" is perhaps the most accidentally funny typo I've read in a while. I have regular pelvic floods at the moment Blush

fedupofrainydays · 14/11/2014 22:24

I think I must be abnormal as I just dont feel like sex. I'm so tired I can't imagine conjuring the energy for it when sleep is so precious!! Amazed at you ladies. Or maybe it's just differing sex drives...!
DH back from ikea, stuffed down some fishcakes, nkw gone to bed. DH off to twickenham tomorrow for rugby so home alone again with the two boys.
