Hi all,

Back from my appointment. Rheummy said that if I was going to have a massive flare up it would have happened by now. So thats great news. Dont have to go again for 18 months.

Us- You are a star!- It must take you forever to write your post. I do try and reply to everyone, but am so scatty that I keep forgetting what everyone has written.

Pretty- So sorry to hear about your driving test. You'll do it next time! I will be starting my driving lessons after xmas, so I still have all that to come.

Poor Whitestar!- I wonder what happened to make her so upset. I know some people on mumsnet can be a bit bitchy. But I try and stay away from them. Some people get a bit nasty when they have a bee in their bonnet about something.
I'm sure non of us have been like that.

Who was it who said they liked baby rice? Yuk!! Non- of my girls liked it. But each to their own suppose.

And finally...

Teething, Jazz is very dribbly and seems to be feeling her gums a lot, but no sign of anything yet.

That's all for now girls, gonna eat my lunch.

Have to agree KZ (and Whitestar if you're still listening). I only joined MN a while back but I'm paying less and less attention to most of the threads other than this one. The feeding threads, in particular, can be bitchy beyond belief . I nearly got in a fight with someone the first time I posted, but didn't rise to it, thank God! But I'm so glad I found this postnatal club - it's so nice to hear all your thoughts on things (not to mention all the lovely piccies!).

twinklemegan · 16/11/2006 13:42

Oh, I forgot the rest of what I was going to say..
Pink - that's great news about your arthritis. So pleased for you.
Pretty - bad luck about the driving test. I failed my first test for speeding of all things . Only just passed my second one. Better luck next time!

kbaby · 16/11/2006 14:06

krimbokrackerskayzed - you need to get a cot divider, its a plastic board that you put widthwise in the cot where you want, it then recreates the bottom of the cot, so you could position it nearer the top of your cot and she cant slide down. i cant remember what its called - maybe 'safe baby' we bought ours from blooming marvellous.

ds woke at 2am today with a blocked nose and couldnt settle or feed properly, even when i brought him to bed he was restless.

twinklemegan - we get the same amount and type of sick as you, ranging from milk to clear apparently some babies are just sicky ones.
algach - were the same re dd. i cooked everything from scratch [she ate better than us]and she was an excellant eater until she turned 2, now all shell eat is macoroni cheese and chips! i thought by getting her used to loads od diff foods she would always have a good appetite, how wrong.

FrostytheSnowman · 16/11/2006 16:45

Afternoon all

My migraine has gone today thank the Lord! kayzed-hope yours goes soon. Have had a migraine every month for the last 18 years (apart from 2 x 9 months break ).

whitestar-hun, have we upset you in any way? So sorry to lose you. I tend to post only on the telly addicts threads and this one of course

pink-excellent news about your arthritis. What a relief for you.

prettymum-don't worry about your driving test-you will get there. I took 5 tests and so did my friend and once you drive, who ever asks you how many tests you took-they don't!

Sophie is on Heinz Creamy Porridge and Apricot Museli. She is lurving it (at the moment). Have tried her on a tin for her lunch but she fell asleep in the middle. Gave her a Petit Filous and she ate it all! Will try and liquidise my own food when she is a little older. Think I left DD1 on jars for toooo long-it was soooo easy though .

Right, better start thinking about tea. My diet has failed miserably this week as I have to eat lots with a migraine. Hugs to everyone and I'll be back later.

xmasstocking · 16/11/2006 17:00

Whitestar - hope you and your family are well - all the best for the future.

Pretty - for failing your test - third time lucky eh?

KZ - how did the second night with water go? Any progress on the night waking?

Twinkle - Josh usually is sick pretty much within an hour of every feed - it is always curdled milk so he pretty much smells of sick constantly as I can never be bothered to change him every time . Had the clear stuff aswell so don't worry - it is normal. My sister had 2 sicky babies and one who was never sick at all so it obviously varies a lot between babies. Pretty - LOL at vomiting in your face - lovely!!

Kbaby - lovely photos - so cute!

Looks like we are all our July babies will be dressed as reindeer come Christmas - don't forget to all post photos!

Just been out shopping with my friend who has just started weaning her 3-month old. Am v jealous as I am dying to start with Josh -

Am in DH's bad books as I said we were too skint to buy some lovely food from M&S as a treat but managed to buy myself some stuff for my nails which was quite expensive Have to get your priorities right eh ladies??

figgypud · 16/11/2006 19:36

Hey all
What a shame about Whitestar, do agree tho some of the bitchyness is like a bloody playground!
xmasstocking: nails are important theres nowt wrong with cheaper food if you look fab
Frosty: glad heads better!
Kbaby: Fab piccies he looks great in the one with the HUGE grin!
Pink - Fab news about your arthritis hun!
Pretty - Don't worry about the driving test. Little hint leave it until after xmas now if you can, the traffic gets shocking from now on with people dashing roung to get things! Failed one of my many at this time of year because two people cut me up apparently I should have been more alert (I'm not bitter or anything!!)
usandourlittlexmascracker: Try not to worry so much! LO will eat what they want when they want to a degree! Evie certainly knows how to let me know if she loves/hates something!
Mega post sorry!

Evie has progressed from being rocked to sleep to being held to fall asleep, step in the right direction I guess! Went to see a lady I was in hosp with today her LO is 3days younger and SO much bigger than Evie but they are at such different stages just shows how different babes are! Hes rolling aroung like there's no tomorrow, But Evie was "bum shuffling" to get the best toys thats my girl!

Better go! Think we're going to need a new thread soon girls! taking ages to load this one (or is that my slow comp?)
Jane

Wallace · 16/11/2006 21:46

Hope it wasn't htis thread that upset you whitestar. I got into my first arguement on MN the other day, and I have been here for years. People were just being so judgemental, and I wanted to make them undersatnd people have different views! Oh well....will be avoiding controversial threads in the future.

Love the photos kbaby - like the expression on your ds' face looking at his sister

prettymum · 17/11/2006 07:38

morning ladies!

kbaby- love the pics, they both look so happy!!

kz- i was so busy concertrating looking ahead of me i gorgot to look out for pedestrians!!

had a very early wake up call, both dc got a cold again!!! junior has a blocked up nose again and dd got the runny nose and cough!!!

better go, junior needs some loving

hope you all have a lovely day

FrostytheSnowman · 17/11/2006 08:36

Morning ladies

Sophie slept through the night-hip, hip hurrah!!!!!!! She had her last milk at 8pm and woke at 7am. I had leaked all over the sheets-might have to express later. I didn't sleep though myself of course as I woke at 5am thinking she would be awake any minute. All down to the cheese and parsnip bake and strawberry Petit Filous kayzed-laughed when you said Roshi was saying 'uh uh uh' as that is what Sophie did but only with her pud-I must not let her develop a sweet tooth.

prettymum-those damn colds! Re: Boots-why don't they do the cuddly toys at Christmas anymore. I used to spend more there just to get the vouchers.

Off to Sophie's swim class so will be back later.

Have a good day.

maewest · 17/11/2006 11:47

Morning all. DH is off work today, so I'm getting my haircut later (can't wait, feel like a wild hippy woman at the mo ).

Twinkle, think our babies are about the same age, my DS pukes CONSTANTLY, varying as you describe from overflow of milk just after a feed, through to curdled until it's just dribble with bits. I put it down to him being naturally sicky, and a complete guts about milk . Want to hold off weaning for as long as poss because at least this puke isn't orange! Thanks for everyone's nice comments about the boy (preen, preen), he's getting to be a right little butterball now.

pinktinselanddollymixtures · 17/11/2006 12:46

Hiya-

Had a bit of a bad day yesterday. I think the girls finally got fed up of me having this fluy bug and Dh working days. Dd2 bit dd1 in the morning and dd1 hit dd2 in the afternoon. In between was loads of bickering and petty arguements. The last straw came at about 5ish. I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and Jasmine was on the floor in her playgym. I kept checking her every few minutes...
Then there was a shriek from both Jasmine and dd2, ran in to the lounge in a panick and Jasmine is now lying on the floor several feet away from her playgym with dd2 standing over her. It was obvious that DD2 had dropped her!

I was soo mad and upset. Started shaking and screaming at dd2 (feel a bit bad now), but the amount of times i have asked the girls not to pick her up. I wound myself right up and was still trying to calm down when dh came home 30 mins later.

Fortunatley Jasmine is fine, just shocked her a bit I think.

But I dont think I handled it well at all. I just got so upset. I feel like a bad mummy for screaming at dd2 the way I did. But you know, they were pushing me all day. Today I have a headache and am shattered (prob stress headache).

Anyway I will catch up with your posts later. Just wanted to check in.

I'm not a bad mummy...am I?

pinktinselanddollymixtures · 17/11/2006 12:48

Just re-read that. I was not shaking dd2 physically.

It was me who was shaking all over...

FrostytheSnowman · 17/11/2006 14:32

pink-you are absolutely not a bad mummy. It is a natural reaction and one I have regularly. I think part of the shaking bit is a feeling of guilt but there is nothing you can do to stop anything at the time. The rest of the shaking is shock (at the shouting) and anger at your other DD's. I wonder why our toddlers won't leave our babies alone. My mum thinks that DD1 has become jealous of Sophie all of a sudden so I have to watch her like a hawk. (((xxx))) hugs to you.

Sophie was brill at her swim class-loads of dunks under the sea. Refused point blank to eat her lunch though (even the Petit Filous )-only wanted milk. Sigh....in for a night wake-up call methinks.

Anyway, in the middle of expressing. Have got 3oz out of one boob so going to try the other side.

Bye for now.

madness · 17/11/2006 14:34

Pink, a while ago I saw ds (just 6 y now) shake dd2. Had a bit of a shock and shouted at ds . He is usually very good with her. He just wanted to see her head wobbling I think.
Then yesterday dd1 (3Y) put dd2 with my help in her doll push chair. DD2 seemed to actually like it, at least she didn't cry. But after a little while dd1 got fed up and she pushed/lifted dd2 out so she slipped on the floor. I just managed to cathch her so she didn't bang herself too much...

prettymum · 17/11/2006 14:43

pink- definately not a bad mummy
its so frustrating being a mum, you're ill with no one looking after you, all you want to do is relax and get everything done in peace but with kids that doesnt happen often!!

ive had moments when ive wanted to scream the house down, just wanted to be by myself!!

kbaby · 17/11/2006 16:25

krimbokrackerskayzed- Ive measured it to see how far it will extend. It goes to 76cms but that needs to be the size from bar to bar as thats how it secures, so I dont think it would fit. Your cot must be quite wide. Its a shame because it sounded just what you needed.

Wallace- I know he looks like that in every photo I have of them together, I think hes terrified of her, normally she has him in a strangulation hold.
Ive been trying to get a decent photo of them both to do Xmas thank you cards but cant get a good one yet.

DH is out tonight to watch the rugby so im off shopping tomorrow for a xmas party dress and leaving him with both DC!

This week ive been waking DS for a last feed at 10.30pm so last night went fed at 6pm, 10.30pm, 1.30am(where he wouldnt settle and stayed awake until 2.30) then he woke again at 4.30 so I brought him into bed for another feed and cuddle. Not sure if me waking him is actually working, ill give it to Sunday and then maybe try not waking him.
Anyone else having perculiar night illusions? I wake up at night thinking 'oh my god ive fallen asleep with DS in bed and hes under the quilt' I then get out of bed carrying him only to get half way to his room to discover I havent actually got him, he was in his cot all along!!!! am I going bonkers?

pinktinselanddollymixtures - I would have done the same thing, what you did was just a natural reaction, your not a bad mummy.

twinklemegan · 17/11/2006 17:04

kbaby - I had exactly the same sort of thing in the few weeks after having Aidan. Would wake up in the middle of the night convinced that Aidan was between me and DH and that I/DH had smothered him. He was in his moses basket all along. Also woke one night convinced I had seen the ghost of an old woman standing by the door! Methinks it's a tired mind playing nasty tricks!!
Pink - sounds like you're having a hard time of it at the mo. You are SO not a bad mum - don't even think such things! I have to say, hearing about all of you with more than one makes me even more sure I won't be having another! (Not Aidan that has put me off, but the process of having him!)

twinklemegan · 17/11/2006 17:06

PS - just realised there was rather a large count of exclamation marks in the last post. I'm not shouting at all of you, honest, it's just a bad habit. Will try to contain them.
