Morning ladies - I recorded Lost last night - can't wait to watch it - I LOVE it!!

Hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was good - just a quiet one. Didn't go out other than to the gym and to take Josh for a long walk yesterday as it was such a lovely day - we are completely skint so any trips/shopping etc is out the window at the moment.

Well, it is just me and Josh for the week now - DH is away with work until Friday evening - in some ways, it is heaven as it is much more peaceful when he is away and Josh seems less grumpy but on the other hand, I am scared I will turn into a babyzombie by Friday evening. Like you Figgy, I have to try and keep myself busy otherwise I go mad. This is the longest he has been away since Josh was born so I guess it is going to be a test for me.

Kbaby - hope the feeding goes ok - Josh is ff and I give him 4 bottles of 9oz a day but he usually only finishes 1 or 2 of those so on average I would say he has 30oz a day.

Kbaby
Useful link regarding amount of milk needed
This page talks about the amounts of milk taken by a bf baby. There are also useful links to pages about the average amount of formula required. Not sure exactly how reliable this info is, but others on MN seem to swear by Kellymom.

I'm afraid the Lost thing has completely passed me by. Watched the first episode and just didn't get it at all.
kbaby - is it all the night wakings that are making you start ff? - don't blame you!! To answer your question, I'm mixed feeding but when Aidan has a full formula feed, which I do from time to time, he's taking 7-8 oz. He usually takes around 5-6 oz after a bf. He only has 4 feeds a day, and occasionally one in the night. He's putting on weight really well so he must be having pretty huge feeds! My theory is that by the time he's finished his (very) leisurely bf he's already digested the first bit so he's more hungry again.
And thanks everyone for putting my mind at rest about the sickiness. HV says it'll probably get better when he starts solids - hope she's right!

ooh lost is good, ive just finished episode 4, although its not on again now until february!

well i didnt wake ds at 10.30 last night so he woke at 11.30 instead, i may as well continue to wake him. grgg at all of you whose lo have started waking once a night, i only wish ds would wake once a night instead of 3 times.

i am meant to be starting him on ff today but so far ive still bf, maybe tomorrow instead. those who are bottle feeding, how many ozs do they have, if i give ds ebm he only takes 4ozs which doesnt seem much.

Maewest, hope you enjoy your brother's visit, and he gets lots of giggles and smiles.

S has also started night waking
This last week has been murder, almost as bad as the first few weeks!!! I am sure my milk supply is getting worse... I am now topping up with formula once a day and doing a big ff before bed.
His day time naps are not too great either... if I put him in hos cot awake he plays for a while until he gets bored and then starts shouting... if I put him down asleep her generally wakes up either straight away or 10 mins later.

Don't seem to have the head space to devise a new strategy!

Got him a bumbo yesterday which he likes for a while, and wants out - shows me he wants to get out by raising his arms to be picked up!!! (and shouting!) sooooo cute.

Have some work to do today, need to e-mail it through for a meeting first thing tomorrow how boring.

LOST STARTS TONIGHT! I am giddy with excitement. (I don't get out much)

Morning - beeyootiful day down here, how's things with everyone?

DS seems to have settled back into waking once a night between 1 and 2am, feeding furiously and then going straight back to sleep (bliss) until 6 or 7am. Think he's finally getting over his cold - nice yellow nappy this morning, a relief after countless fizzy green ones. We seem to be getting a bit better with day time naps too (fingers crossed).

Was out yesterday with one of my best mates and her newborn (just 1 month old). Her DD is already about 10lb, but felt so light and teeny. Little girlfriend for the boy already!

My bro is coming to stay for a few days from tomorrow. (one who went missing, depressed etc) I'll get DS to do some of his best smiling and chuckling for him . Take care all

Morning ladies

Well, Sophie woke at 6am on Saturday and 4am this morning. So the sleep through night was a one-off. She is also constipated now she is on solids-ho hum!

On a good note, I got all my Christmas cards written! Phew-another weight off my mind.

Tried Sophie in her high chair this morning but she is far too tiny-bless her. DD1 was in it at 5 1/2 months and was fine. Sophie is 5 months on the 27th so not that far behind.

Better go as Sophie crying. Have a good day.

Hi all
Hope everyone is well!
Pink: Don;t worry about it I admire anyone coping with more than one DC, I struggle to cope with the one sometimes!
Xmas: GGRRRR to the speeding ticket I've been SO lucky so far but the day will inevitably come!
To all of you who are having night wakings again! Evie starting doing it again but has thankfully gone back to sleeping through! Also contantly rolling over now! Been waiting ages for this and convinced myself last few times were a fluke now constantly having to watch her and roll her back over!
kbaby: I still have weird dreams and DP has woken a few time or "sleep talks" saying he bought LO into bed and fell asleep and things!

Anyhow better go and roll LO back over!
Jane n Evie (22weeks today!)

Hello all. Having a really bad morning. Aidan, having slept through for the last two weeks, decided to wake twice last night and wouldn't settle back down at all. Reading all your posts makes me worry that it wasn't a one off He wee'd all over himself twice after I washed him this morning, so ended up washing him three times, then noticed he'd been lying in a pool of wee so had to bath him in the end anyway. Now he's been sick in his hair that I've just washed. This happens all the time, but I'm just in a REALLY bad mood this am. And the house is in a state. Grrrr! And the cat's just been sick!!
Anyway, sorry for the rant ladies! (Hope this isn't AF on the return!!) Hope you all have a good day - mine can only get better. Oh well...

Even worse tonight he went down about 8, then woke up at 9. fed for 40 mins, but didn't settle when I put him back down, and is falling asleep over my shoulder as i type!

kbaby, I had this a lot when DS was first born - I could actually feel the weight of him in my arms, a couple of times woke up cradling part of the duvet. Weirdly DH had it too in the early weeks, was half awake patting the duvet, and he sleep walked a bit (after this I banished him to the spare room for a while). It's probably some ancient protection mechanism - also extreme tiredness makes you do odd things.

DS had his second ever bottle today from DH. DS was chuckling and grinning all the way through - nice to know I am so easily replaced

Oh xmas-have the Police got nothing better to do !!!

kbaby-funny you should mention the night illusions-I had this with DD1 and again with Sophie. I find it very disturbing and gives me palpitations. I always worry about falling asleep and smothering her.

Must go as Sophie refusing to go to sleep in her cot so will attempt another feed.

Pink, chill my love, you are not a bad mummy, quite the contrary, it was just your protective instinct taking over. I think you were quite restrained personally.

Bye Whitestar, hope you and yours are ok, sorry to see you go.

had a VERY busy week indeed. Knackered. Toby wakes at 4.30am for a feed now regardless of the dream feed. Does go straight back off, though, but would prefer a 7am wake up.....

God, just watching Girls Aloud on Children in Need - they are gorgeous, the bitches. Green eyed monster or wot. DH salivating....

DS1 can make one carton of drink equal 8 wees. What's that all about??

Pink - don't worry about it - it must be so hard having more than one lo - I am just full of admiration for all of you with 2+children - I have it easy really! Like Twinkle, not convinced about having a second one though dh is keen - I change my mind on a daily basis.

Am not a happy bunny today - got my first speeding ticket - I know I can't really complain as I was speeding and I have been driving (and speeding ) for 15 years without being caught but still - very frustrating and I really could do without paying the fine at the moment - we are not exactly loaded with me on half pay - typical!!! Feel even worse about buying the nail stuff now.

Need a big glass of wine tonight I think to cheer me up.
