Hi everyone, how are you all??
I have just put Alfie on the potty, he woke up at 1am. Let's see if he is dry tomorrow morning??
Hope everyone is well.
Are you there Jbad?

Hi
Geog has developed a habit of waking in the night and screaming to go to the toilet. I should be impressed (his brother and sister still don't wake to go to the loo)but it is a bit wearing.
He is loving pre school and totally unconcerned about being left there. He is gutted on days he doesn't go, but it is tiring, he is only going two afternoons a week but it definately tires hom out. Anyone else started pre school yet?
What about birthdays? Geog is frigteningly aware that his is coming up, planning who will buy him what and who will come to the party, that is definately the influence of having older brother and sister.

Hi Geog, Alfie doesn't start until January, and as far as I know it will be for 2 hours each afternoon. I'm not sure how flexible they are about that arrangement, because his grandparents often come up from the Borders and arrive at lunchtime, so it would be a pity if he had to go every afternoon. I think I'll miss him as well on the days that I work in the evenings because I won't be able to meet him after nursery.
We have got into going for a walk (him in pram)for a couple of hours every other day. It's really for me, and he's now so lazy that he clambers back into the pram after a few minutes walk. What a big change from a year ago, when he hated the pram or anything that stopped him from running around.
He really wants to go to nursery though and I have to take him round to see it and peer through the railings. I think they nursery staff think I'm a complete nutter.
Alfie wakes up to pee in the night quite often, but he can now sleep through and wake up with a dry nappy, so it's kind of gradually moving towards a no-nappy situation. Having said that, he refused to go the loo last night before bed and told DP he didn't like going to the toilet - he doesn't like a lot of things at the moment.
What are you getting for Littlegeog's birthday? Have you got anything planned?
I'm probably lucky in that Alfie still doesn't really 'get' what a birthday is, apart from the bit about the cake and blowing and he knows the happy birthday song. Nothing about presents. Hee hee!
His very late Christmas present from his Nanny was a Brighter Bike, which he calls Cheeky Bicycle and goes whizzing around on. It's very light, so when he gets fed up I can carry it easily. Probably his favourite toy at the moment, apart from his second hand Fisherprice dolls house.

maisiemog · 22/09/2007 11:51

Oh I forgot to ask, does anyone sew clothes? I have just bought a couple of patterns for Alfie: one pyjamas and one jogging suit/hoodie outfit.
It's going to be a disaster.
I'll post the results, when I actually finish them. So probably next year then.

geogteach · 22/09/2007 11:57

Not sure what i'm getting him yet but he has put in requests for a marble run and various Bob the builder merchandise from his aunties.
what is it with pushchairs, geog didn't use his for the whole summer holidays (including stuff like day trips to London, Brighton and legoland) now he wants it to go to school, even from the car park to the playground - lazy bugger!

maisiemog · 22/09/2007 12:24

I know!! I must admit I really take the pushchair because I know I will be walking for a fair distance, and Alfie would want 'up' quite frequently. So I suppose I'm a bit lazy too.
My brother has just called me to find out what Alf would like and I think I'm going to tell him the 'shake and go' racers that ELC stocks. It's the toy that he spent longest with and had to be dragged away from.
I'm probably going to get a bit more train stuff to add to the track we have (and I like playing with it as well)
We never did get the kitchen, but I know he would like one or a shop till because he likes to sell me things for fifty pee.
Whatever he gets, it needs to collapse into a tiny box so I don't have to navigate loads of tat whenever I walk across the room.
It's DIY today, so I'm just browsing B&Q and Homebase. We are off out this afternoon to see the Bourne UltimateSupremacy or whichever one it is, Nanny is babysitting.

and i have my DD in her pram (even though she got the height of a 4 yrs old)...she crippled me if i carried her more than 10 mins!!!!! my back is done in for 2 days after that!!...(like i did last week).

DD is having a "visit" at her preschool next wednesday @ 9.30am to meet her school teacher and the kids who will be starting the same time as DD - i think!. She will be going 5 mornings a week - if i can remember 9.15 - 11.45am and so i can help out Dp who had taken over his boss's business 3 weeks ago (i do the paperwork side of it) and 5 mins concentration!!!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend?...we went out last Saturday for my Dps bday and went for a meal and cinema to watch "Disturbo" - summat like that...its a tense movie but really good.
