Hi Biglips, I can't see the yoghurt photo? I like the face painting one though, Tweenie is hilarious.
I took a photo of Alfie the other day and it was quite scary how big he looked. It's funny how a photograph looks different like that.

Biglips · 17/05/2007 18:16

oops! all done now!

Hahahah! Biglips, you had a hell of a bump!
I think I need help from someone with little boys.
I was out for a walk with Alfie this evening, when he said he needed 'potty' so I double checked I hadn't misheard him and he said 'peepee' so OK.
We were in backstreet so I thought, 'fine, he can peep here' so I pulled down his trousers to his knee and he eventually peeped into the gutter. BUT, when he was finishing off the pee, it all went wrong and kind of trickled onto his trousers. It was a bit of a mess. He ended up with a big wet patch on his crotch and he kept mentioning peep as we walked along after.
So how do you stop little boys dribbling on themselves without completely removing their trousers (DP's suggestion)?
Anyone?

cazzybabs · 18/05/2007 13:39

I am going to be that big. I had normal bumps with the other 2, although with Grace I did get really fat legs! But not even 12 weeks and I have a bump. I am sure everyone can tell at work.

maisiemog · 19/05/2007 08:51

Have you told your work yet Cazzy? I have heard the more knackered your stomach muscles, i.e. the more children, the bigger the bump.
One of my friend's stomach muscles didn't go back together after her first and her second DD was a huuge bump. She's now getting an op to sort it out (and a free tummy tuck - on the NHS!) So she's quite pleased.

cazzybabs · 19/05/2007 18:04

No - I have not told work yet. Am waiting till I have had my 12 week scan so I know all is well. OHH and (should all be well at the 12/20 week scan) I am having a home waterbirth! YEHHHHH! God I feel so sick in the evenings. At least with morning sickness it was onlt work that was affected but I cannot do anything save lie in bd pissing dh off and feeling sorry for myself. This baby better be a boy - that is all I can say.

maisiemog · 19/05/2007 18:16

Oh no poor baby! [baby hides]LOL!
Does anything help with the sickness Cazzy?
I used to eat packets of rennie rapeze fruit flavour (hated mint groo!). Now I can't look at them.
Never mind your DH, it's his fault too! This is what happens. Anyway, he doesn't have to actually give birth, so he's got it easy.

cazzybabs · 19/05/2007 19:50

No he is alright - just tired from running around after 2 children, trying to sort out our house sale and working late all of which make him grumpy.

I just can't wait to escape the pysco nieghbour. She is so funny - she waits till we are in the garden then comes out and starts being rude about us! Stupid woman. Remmeber it is all because of our cats - well today she was ranting about how much we had cost her in cat repellent equipment.

maisiemog · 20/05/2007 23:09

Poor old you two! I hope you can get as much sleep now as possible, before you can't get any at all (waah!).
Your DH needs a big hug, even though it's all his fault.
Is the sicky feeling going yet?
When is the scan?
Have you got rubber ducks for your birthing pool?

Biglips · 23/05/2007 22:44

cazzy - is this your first home water birth? if yes...good luck!

good news for today is that tweenie had been accepted in her pre-school...yippee!!....so i can concentrate at the gym whilst she is about 2 mins walk away from me!. She will be starting in the first week of October after her bday which is on 1st october. How is everyone else getting on with it or are all in the nursery already?

tweenie is talking brilliant now but cannot pronouce the "F"'s, "N"'s, and another but cant think right now!

I had a hospital water birth last time. Am feeling very silly - I caught the sun yesterday and now my arms are all sore.

maisiemog · 28/05/2007 23:16

Hi all, what's happening??
We have a little boy who loves the toilet now. From having a phobia, he wants to pee and poop on all the toilets (toiyets - still can't say 'l')
Jbad - have you had any more news yet??

jbadgirl · 29/05/2007 17:27

Hi all, we have tobys tests on thursday. Finally after phoning 3 times last week and leaving a message, they got back to me on friday. Its a bit annoying that I have to chase everything, especially as I have to work around my job and organise cover. Its easy to do but when things are so last minute it makes me look really un organised!!!
Anyway they said that we should be in for the day and not overnight. From what I can gather the test for hydrocephalus is a lumbar puncture to test the pressure of the fluid so we should know there and then if he has it. The reflux isnt any better so they need to sort him out. Its definatley got worse since his gastrostomy but there is a last resort of another operation called a fundiplication where they tighten the opening to the stomach so it cannot come up as easily. I would obviously like it to get sorted other ways but at least there is a last resort.
Things are going ok at work, trying to open an under 2s provision at the nursery as they are 2-5 year olds at the moment.
Dh keeps going on about having another baby but I need to open my baby room otherwise I will have to go elsewhere for childcare!! Other thing is the possibility of having another with problems. I will have more regardless but it always crosses my mind.
Would hav another tmrw if I could though!

maisiemog · 30/05/2007 00:20

Hi Jbad! Good luck on Thursday. That's much easier having the tests through the day.
I love your approach to childcare - just open your own baby nursery. Why didn't I think of that. But it's great if you can do it like that.
I think you are such a great mum, you should definitely have some more.
I'd like one more as well, but nothing so far. I don't think we are making enough of an effort, I might go to the doctors, just in case, though.
Alfie made a joke today, he made his lorry jump up and down and said 'orry dancing'. It was not all that funny, but I was surprised because normally he laughs at what I do, or what DP does, but doesn't actually make up funny stuff himself.
Fingers crossed for Thursday.

jbadgirl · 30/05/2007 18:20

Thanks maisie, yes i do have an advantage over some people with the prospect of baby unit. We are set in a portacabin which is a fair size, a little on the old side but the maintenence at the school is good. We have a room at one end that isnt used often enough so I think it would make a perfect little room for babies. I recieved another quote for the work which is cheapwer than the other one i have. Its just asking the school governors for the funding to do it now and hope they approve of the idea!!!

We are all set for tmrw and will keep you updated on how things go.

maisiemog · 30/05/2007 22:41

That sounds good. I hope it all goes well, and you get some idea of what is going on tomorrow.
I'll be thinking of you.

jbadgirl · 01/06/2007 10:01

All went ok yesterday they filled about 10 tubes of blood for lots of different tests that were sent to London. The lumba puncture went well and he had sedation which knocked him out completely. We almost had to stay in overnight as he took 5 hours to wake up! They almost did a reversal on the sedation as he was taking so long. They dont think he has hydrocephalus as the pressure was only "15" whatever that means!! We also saw the doc about his reflux and they are going to call us back for more tests for that. He didnt even cry having the blood taken and actually fell asleep during it. I think he may have another chest infection brewing as they had to put him on oxygen and he was pretty sleepy anyway.

He is fine this morning and doesnt seem to have any after effects from the tests which is great and hope they get the tests back soon.

cazzybabs · 01/06/2007 10:05

I am glad Toby coped with the tests.

I have my 12 week scan today - I sm very scared! OHH Grace is ordering me to get her breakfast (we had a late night last night and she slept in) and now she is saying, "I want some wreakfast"...

jbadgirl · 01/06/2007 18:01

Wow, exciting cazzy. How did it go at the scan then? Did you find out the sex?

cazzybabs · 01/06/2007 20:04

No you need to wait till your 20 week to find out the sex - not that I would because that is cheating. And anyway what else do Dh and I have to talk about for the next 6 months other than names. I like Noah, William, Harriet etc - he doesn't. If we rule out 50% of the names well it will take less time to decide won't it!

anyway got some lovely pictures because I am so slim (apparently - I am soooo not. My new summer clothes don't fit . I have a bump and I am only 14 weeks). It moved, it waved, it has the correct number of toes and heads etc. It was such a relief to see it. I nearly cried. That is the trouble with MN - you are so much more aware of all the things that can go wrong. Anway I can now stop worring about further mcs and just have the 20 week scan to get through!

KathH · 01/06/2007 21:33

William is a good name! it's moley's real name. Havent been about much as dh's best friend died last week aged 40

cazzybabs · 01/06/2007 21:38

oh no Kath 40 is nothing is it!

maisiemog · 02/06/2007 00:04

I'm so sorry Kath - how are you and DH getting on? That is such a lot of pressure, him trying to cope and you trying to be supportive, with lots of children to look after. Are you OK?
Jbad, poor you having to wait for Toby to wake up. It's a good job he is such a happy little boy - putting up with all that. So that's hydrocephalus elimated. Good! Now they can focus on his reflux. Do you wish they would just do the muscle tightening thing and get it over with?
Cazzy - how lovely to see your little ? you will have to post your name ideas so we can vote.
DP was looking after Alfie tonight, whilst I was at work and he said Alf was standing on his step at the loo, peepeeing, and then he said 'ittle wee shake' and shook it so peepee went flying around. I was laughing when he told me, because I was the one who told him to do the shake thing. I don't think DP was quite prepared for that.
