Been in bed an hour thinking I'll get a head start on little miss sleep thief but no she's cluster fed constantly! I guess this is because during the day she has to wait around far more than j did whilst I extricate Jonas from hair brained ass-hattery.

Pikz · 14/10/2014 22:37

Pass does that make DH the 'p diddy' Wink

StuntNun · 15/10/2014 07:08

PR we also do not do painting or Playdoh < shudders >

J slept through again - five nights in a row which is actually a miracle. I'm wondering whether it's less stressful with DH away as he's been away for six nights. It will be interesting to see how that develops. Of course it could just be coincidence. It's amazing how much difference the sleep makes. Unfortunately I had DS2 in with me because he had a nightmare one night and the dog was clattering around the next night so it's not all peace and quiet but it's a definite improvement.

"Hair brained ass-hattery" ha ha ha. Hope you got some sleep.

I have both girls at home today. And have completely lost my voice. They are going to run riot.

Wandathewindfairy · 15/10/2014 10:15

Mornings windy Miller here today. I will pop back in properly later but have just started a thread in food because it is fave subject, just rallying friendly faces.

Right off to isolated mums group for some nurturing and where someone will make me a cupa

izzybizzybuzzybees · 15/10/2014 12:21

Love the sound of J's ass hattery!

Health visitor called me back. There is nothing they can do to help with sleep. Told me to just persevere with cc.... Argh! We're destined never to have a sleep son!

Also no 2 year check, it's 30 months here. I mentioned his lack of speech and was told 6 months is a long time in his wee life, he'll likely speak more by then.

PetiteRaleuse · 15/10/2014 12:28

The sleep would concern me more than the talking izzy both for him
and anyone caring for him. DH talks about his son not having slept for the first five years. He is given to exaggeration but some children just seem to cat nap.

StuntNun · 15/10/2014 12:39

Would you consider paying for a sleep consult Izzy? There's clearly something wrong above and beyond normal toddler sleep patterns. You know yourself just how crap some of our babies have been over the last two years but your J has always had an I resolvable problem. I know my J's problems were all down to food intolerances when it wasn't teething or a wonder week, but I do wonder whether there's some underlying issue that an expert might be able to put their finger on quickly rather than you randomly trying things so see whether they help.

Ditto Stunt. Lord knows F was bad enough in her time, but she has settled down now the food/reflux is sorted. It is not healthy for any of your poor household to carry on indefinitely as is, I am saddened at the hv response, how disappointing.

PetiteRaleuse · 15/10/2014 13:21

Sleep consultant good idea.

Zamboni · 15/10/2014 13:45

Stunt makes a good suggestion. Someone who used to post but I don't think does anymore once consulted a sleep expert. I remember because I PM'd her when S was at his worst. Let me check who in case it is worth a PM to consider some more?

Zamboni · 15/10/2014 13:55

It was Chocolatestain. No idea if she is still around but in case you wanted to make contact.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 15/10/2014 13:58

We've looked onto a sleep consultant before but none seem to be based up here and the rest are very expensive. As of next month I will have no wage and only ESA and DHs wager of live off of. It's just not possible to spend £300 on something at this moment in time.

PetiteRaleuse · 15/10/2014 18:30

Realised this evening that I left my chopping boards at school yesterday. Which means I have to go in again tomorrow. Give me strength to not be railroaded into volunteering for something else again.

We are on amber weather warning for wind. Love wind storms :)

YellowWellies · 15/10/2014 18:43

PR you need to visit QM for windy weather. Any news from her wee rock?

I took the kids to the beach today (J in the buggy, L in the sling), I'm officially that mother that strangers come up to to tell me "you've got your hands full" Confused Grin .

Zamboni · 15/10/2014 18:51

Maybe they think you haven't twigged yet YW?!

Lily311 · 15/10/2014 18:51

yw I did the school run today, picked up my sister's kids aged 5,7,8 with O. I got the looks from others. They clearly judged me for having so many kids :).

PetiteRaleuse · 15/10/2014 19:19

All seems fine up in qm land as far as I can see.

YellowWellies · 15/10/2014 19:21

Lily Grin tomorrow I've got my sisters two and my two - wah so a 5, 3, 2 and 20 day old! Shock

Lily311 · 15/10/2014 19:27

I would so judge you yw Wink.

YellowWellies · 15/10/2014 19:32

I'll also have grey hairs, a nervous twitch and a hair trigger shouty voice! Luckily its only for a couple of hours whilst she has an interview Smile

Wandathewindfairy · 15/10/2014 20:13

Aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Angry

YellowWellies · 15/10/2014 20:18

¿?????????????¿ Confused Hmm

QuicheMama · 15/10/2014 20:30

Hi Smile

Not caught up, but heard my name mentioned Wink

All is fab here, apart from being in that horrible time between passing and send off for MIL. We take comfort that she did not suffer for long.

Work is fucking awesome! Boss is so cool she could be me Grin

The house has no carpets or curtains still, but we have a fridge and cooker as of today.

Kids very happy, and Daddy is embracing the role of SAHD to my amazement and relief.

We have found our forever home, so just need to sell the box down South, get a permanent contract, and negotiate. For the meantime we are just grateful we are not in a tent.

The weather has been idyllic since the storms, and my commute is wonderful - a great time to unwind between work and home, not that I am wound up at all.

I feel valued and respected as a specialist in my field. Only two people on the Islands can do what I can do - me and my Boss. And I am finally being paid a decent wage and no longer reliant on CTC. Man that feels good!

Missing certain things like Ikea, next day delivery, BK, and the Haggis contingency obviously.

If we get the house we want, it will be big enough to be the quiche retreat I dream of, and we could foster Smile

I hope to be back on the Fred before long, but I am still trying to sort the house.

Take care darlings xxx
