Aethelfleda · 10/09/2014 23:39

Soooo tired
Tonight's little catchphrase "No, you not DD1's mummy. You NY mummy. You not DS2's mummy. You NY mummy. Go way Dd1. Go way DD2. It NY mummy."

NorthernChinchilla · 11/09/2014 08:34

Taking the possessiveness to a whole new level then aethel - clearly he's read the thread title! Wink

Third child syndrome! Add the usual it's mine to actual constant competiion for attention/laps/hugs/everything. It's a constant juggle to ensure no-one feels left out! (And that includes myself and DH....)

Figster · 11/09/2014 13:22

Chip I feel really sorry for people who dont have the opportunity to benefit from surestart I went to BF groups (while still attempting to flog that already dead horse) and mum and baby groups while on mat leave and they were great way to get out and about and being 5 mins from my house very convenient.

DS is very excited about trip to seaside this weekend he wants to see a shark he is back in full on octonaut obsession mode he has his octonaut magazine to take with him with lots of stickers and little plastic whale shark. He is going to end up like his daddy me thinks our house is literally full of bookshelves with all his biology, science, natural history books.

DS hasnt pooed in days he has told the cm he has worms in his bottom am dreading trying to get him to poo on the potty when the time comes.

NorthernChinchilla · 11/09/2014 21:43

Sorry DS is still having poo problems figgy take it the various treatments haven't worked then?
Doing a course at the moment, started last night, so means a 12 hr day once a week til Xmas. Really fascinating, investigators course, but meant I was SHATTERED last night. Be worth it though Smile even if a half 9 bedtime is a necessity!

PartTimeProcrastinator · 12/09/2014 08:31

Course sounds interesting Northern, even if it does make for long days. And your DS sounds very cute with his Octonaut obsession, can imagine him wandering about with his shark!

Had to have a biopsy yesterday as have abnormal cervix cells, so feeling a bit tender today. It looks like I will just have to go and have rest of the abnormal cells removed in a few weeks and that will be it but they are waiting for biopsy results first. So shall attempt not to worry until the results are back.

Aethelfleda · 12/09/2014 14:09

(((Hug))) PNP, that's not at all uncommon, and is usually completely sorted by the minor removal op. hope you feel better "down there" very soon!

Am embarking back on the healthy-eating portion control wagon: I have GOT to get back to my pre-baby weight but just hate formalised diets. So it's reduce-the-portions-and-minimise-snacking for me. Oh, the joys.

That course sounds great northern! My entire life consists of ongoing self-learning (mostly online with the odd day course thrown in). It's usually rather interesting, though one particular computer based thingy I've been plugging away at has been taxing of my patience (you know when the subject matter is clear, but the questions obtusely worded? Argh.)

DS seems in a good mood today (that's blown it, writing it down!) so will make the most of it and have a play-in-the-garden afternoon once
The DDs are home from school. Yay.

OiMissus · 12/09/2014 14:40

Talking of courses, I'm down I'm London for a management course, so will be in town on Monday and Tuesday night.

mopsytop · 12/09/2014 18:01

No time to catch up. Last day of hols. have had FAB time! Don't want to leave tomorrow and back to loads of work and moving into new house. Sigh. But at least we go back lovely and relaxed!

NorthernChinchilla · 12/09/2014 20:05

Hey mopsy good to hear from you and so glad it's been a lovely hols for you all. How's MiniM found it? And good luck with the house, keep us posted!
That must've been grim for you PTP keep on top of the pain relief meds. Can anyone help out with DS so you can put your feet up a bit?
The bedding and bed guard arrived for DS today- we've taken the plunge and ordered his big boy bed, full size single, arriving next week. His daily acrobatics in and out of his cot are somewhat of a hint. But where, WHERE did that time go Shock ?!

How's seven doing btw, has she been on FB?

She's OK northern, baby E is apparently a porker and behaving impeccably.....

Glad you had a great holiday mopsy....

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 13/09/2014 16:10

PTP I had a colposcopy and LEEP because of some abnormal cells, it was uncomfortable but not painful and I was fine the next day. Though they did give me adrenaline for bleeding and I got a weird case of the angry munchies in Tesco car park and cried while eating a whole packet of jaffa cakes.

Lovely afternoon with Oi and Boi, DS is conked out on the sofa, having rediscovered all his toys. Training is going fairly well, poos on the potty today (twice) and so far so accidents. Will catch up when in laptop later.

TheOnlySeven · 14/09/2014 11:39

Hi all, not checked in for a while. Things are going well here, DD3 is pretty easy atm, and the other DCs adore her. DH is back at work today, just had a text to say he thinks he's broken his finger again :(

NorthernChinchilla · 14/09/2014 13:25

The colposcopy sounds unpleasant hop but your description of the attack of the angry munchies made me hoot!

Glad to see you seven, and lovely to hear that E's doing well. How on earth has your DH broken his finger again?

Got work out of the way yesterday, training our volunteers, all went well. Got my new specs and had a wander round town, and picked up a potty and loo insert thingy for DS to start familiarising him with it, though he'll have seen more than enough at nursery. Got a text from DP to say that the poor mite had vomited himself awake from his nap, and it was quite spectacular- he's only been sick once before, when we all had norovirus. So rest of yesterday was quite chilled.
Today's been a trip to the park and now getting on with housework/gardening, so nothing wildly exciting!

TheOnlySeven · 14/09/2014 14:26

Same as before, squashed it between two barrels.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 14/09/2014 16:25

Ouch!

Laid back day here too. I had a meeting with some friends as part of a campaign to save our local sure start centres, then walked round the village and had a sneaky coffee while DH took DS swimming. Potty training is still ok, poohs have been going in the toilet/potty and he got some match box cars as a well done (which I can see becoming new obsession, he loves them!). He's had a couple of wee accidents today BUT he's been swimming and he always pees like a horse after that. Currently having a tidy up while the boys wash the car.

Glad E is doing well, she looks scrumptious on FB. X

TheOnlySeven · 14/09/2014 18:23

Thanks hop. There's been talk about our local surestart centre closing too :(

Aethelfleda · 15/09/2014 08:13

What really irritates me is that when these centres are opened it is with a huge political fanfare, the MPs blether about how they are CHAMPIONING CHILDREN, then once the points have been scored and the media moved on, they just cut the funding and close the lot. How does that help anyone in the long term?

mopsytop · 15/09/2014 08:23

I know aethel. Then they say they want to give disadvantaged two year olds free nursery hours and complain because the private nurseries won't play ball. hourly fees paid by govt capped at £5.07. They're the ones who favour a libertarian economy so how can that be surprised when profit-making nurseries don't want to take a hit? If they actually cared, they'd set up proper state-run, states subsidised care, and let all kids have access to early child care and all mothers who wanted to get back into the workforce. It is all just so much political point scoring and no desire for real change. Infuriating.

We are back at work, Minimopsy back at nursery (very reluctantly ... clung like a leech to me when I dropped her off and we had many tears beforehand saying 'I don't want to go to nursery. I don't want to see my friends' Sad ). Hopefully finally completing and getting keys later this morning. Fingers crossed...

NorthernChinchilla · 15/09/2014 17:58

DS is a bit like that on Mondays mopsy, hope DD was OK in the end.
DS and I have had a day at home- he was randomly sick on Saturday, fine all weekend, then spectacularly redecorated the bathroom for us at 11 or so last night poor kid. Hope all his food stays down today!

And yes, the idea of affordable comprehensive childcare remains just that sadly, yet its introduction would transform individuals' lives and the country....sigh.

Am meeting Aethel this evening! Am nervous! Shock

TheOnlySeven · 15/09/2014 19:44

Hope you're the proud owner of a new house mopsy.

As I know you lot won't judge and we talk about anything and everything here, I think I have a prolapse Blush Sad Blush I'm guessing it has something to do with the 2 hour labour, I don't know. I feel really shit, I don't even want to talk to DH about it. I'm seeing the MW to be discharged tomorrow, not sure if I should mention it or whether to wait until 6 week check with the GP. Unless someone can tell me it's fixable with pelvic floor exercises and I don't need to go through the embarrassment of talking about it. At a guess I think it's probably second degree.

mopsytop · 15/09/2014 20:13

Oh no seven! Sad Sad. Mention to midwife now. Best to deal with asap. Not what you need right now you poor thing.

Yes we are in. Yay!
