And that bloody space wasn't in there when I post it, bugger it!

Shall I do a new one?

No it's fine.

Been back at in-laws for the weekend. Went to posh do on Sat night. I was drivinge but still had a good time. MIL put DS to bed. He did a shit in the bath. Grin

This week we are attempting potty training. I'm off to buy pants and crocs tomorrow. Bloody hate crocs, but seem sensible for ease of cleaning.

Sorry about house woes, tantrums, stomach pains and bugs. This new sparkly thread will be free from disease and injuries.

(Conveniently forgets that DS has a cold and I'm sporting a massive bruise from walking backwards into a bookcase.)

OiMissus · 07/09/2014 23:33

Hola! I don't know what happened, but I clicked on the link, and the ... Oh wait, I'm on the site now, not the app... I quite like how this looks...
Don't mind me, just checking in.
(Posh do looked very posh, hop!)

PartTimeProcrastinator · 08/09/2014 07:23

Enjoying breakfast in peace as DS is weirdly still asleep, really need to wake him up as I need to leave for work soon, but the silence is so lovely!

NorthernChinchilla · 08/09/2014 07:36

Morning PTP how goes it?
Another six day week to look forward to, yay. ...

checking in after a weekend of vomming and a minor head injury for f chops and chores chores chores for the rest of us...

OiMissus · 08/09/2014 10:09

It appears I may have IBS. How common / fashionable / pathetic!
But treatable!
I have to get bloods checked, and if all clear, it should be IBS. Then it's a case of finding out what my body doesn't like, and making some changes to my diet.
IBS. Fashionable, at last. Pathetic though, isn't it? Confused
Anyway, it should clear up my symptoms, and could help with weight loss if everything starts working properly. Maybe. Hopefully!
Maybe my body doesn't like alcohol and pasta and bread. Then I'd be skinny as a rake by Christmas!

OiMissus · 08/09/2014 10:10

Dream on. I could give up eating entirely and still would never be rake skinny.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 08/09/2014 13:37

Potty training day one. Several wees on the toilet. No sign of poo yet, but I have made this lovely chart.

Checking in nothing of interest to say

OiMissus · 08/09/2014 14:51

IBS - what a pain in the arse.

Ha ha ha ha ha! Sorry.
Well, I thought it was funny.
I'll get my coat.

Aethelfleda · 08/09/2014 16:40

Nah, piles are a pain in the arse!
It's "good" to hear it's IBS, oi, loads of treatments to try, won't need ops, won't actually kill you... But hope it gets better soon!

OiMissus · 08/09/2014 19:51

And IBS causes piles. Wink
As I said, ...
Tmi. ShockConfusedShockConfusedShock

More glamourous than being pregnant! In fact, let's see, all the symptoms - cramps, piles, bloatedness,... Just no delicious baby!
Still, until they tell me I can't, I can have a glass of wine. Which I shall do. Once I've sorted out the kitchen.
I haven't had a drink since Friday. I must be ill!

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 08/09/2014 20:06

Potty training day one: one accident this evening. Still no poo though, I even offered a nappy in case he was holding it in. Nope. Good luck to nursery tomorrow!

NorthernChinchilla · 08/09/2014 20:10

Oh grim Oi, you poor thing. Hope they can confirm it swiftly, then at least you'll know what it is and can start identifying the trigger foods. I am saying a prayer for you (metaphorically speaking) that Martini Rosso isn't one of them! Hopefully it'll be green beans, quinoa and museli that set it off...

And what've you been up to with the vomming hinky, food poisoning or virus?

Your picture makes me think of Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo from South Park hop, it's awesome Grin And if you've not seen it, google it!

Very interesting evening here- we live in the bottom road of the 'posh' part of town...basically there's a big road leading out of town with roads running off it, mansions at the top, us in the middle and the prison at the bottom! Came home and at the bottom of the main road, opposite the prison, police had sealed off the road, CSIs/forensic running around, squillions of cops, and it turns out someone in the halfway house has been stabbed. Is not yet dead.... Albeit I deal with this world daily it's still a shock when it happens at the bottom of the road....

Was an indulgent parent today, bought a box of 8 'Fab' ice lollys, and I may have let DS have one before bed as an uber treat Blush

OP posts:
Aethelfleda · 08/09/2014 20:38

Oh no northern that's really upsetting to have that happen so close. Fret not though, DS has LIVED off unsuitable lollies/icecreams this summer, though I did dig out the bubblegum when he snarfed a Screwball the other day from the DDs, gotta have limits

Today DS learnt not to touch the soup saucepan, he was in cheeky "ooh what's that" mode and darted around me very quickly and poked it with his finger cos he thought I would tell him off. It was all switched off and not uber hot (fortunately), I am SO careful about cooking on the back hobs with the handles turned away, but had just served up the soup so it was nearer to the front than normal.
Silly boy. Fortunately we ran it under cool water for ten minutes and it was ok, stopped being sore and didn't blister. Phew.

OiMissus · 08/09/2014 20:40

I guess, at least if it's in The halfway house, it's contained... I mean, things like that don't happen to normal folk who don't mix with murderous types.
(That's what i tell myself, anyway, to help me sleep at night!) so as it was in the house, it's not really in your neighbourhood. Not really. Confused
Well done on stage one of potty training! Boi has sat on the potty twice today and really tried, apparently, but saved everything up for his nappies. Smile

NorthernChinchilla · 09/09/2014 08:52

Was the lead item on the BBC regional news this morning, joy. Person still in hospital, so hope it doesn't become a murder enquiry.
Hope DS is OK aethel it's one of those events that I'm amazed doesn't happen more to all of us. DS decided to climb the small bookcase to retrieve his arrows from the mirror (long story) n it tipped- it was only because DP was there that nothing was broken or worse.
Life with toddlers is SO relaxing Grin !

Chipandspuds · 09/09/2014 12:27

Sympathies Oi! Hope you're feeling better soon. You can buy creams/suppositories from the pharmacy if you don't have the time/inclination to see a doctor...not sure if they're cheaper on prescription or not though.

Sounds a bit scary Northern, hope the police have caught the person who did it!

Back to work today and it's grim, nobody ever seems to cover my work whilst I'm off so have come back to a pile of shitty emails. Oh well...roll on maternity leave!

DS was very sweet this morning, woke up in a cheerful mood and wanted to play with buses and trains Smile Hope he's not too tired after his first day back at nursery!

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 09/09/2014 16:21

Fingers crossed this posts without problems; can't use phone wel atm (have had to invert the colours to stop headaches).

Sympathies on the IBS Oi

Hope potty training is still going well hoppy?

Ds2 is showing a very fleeting interest in the potty but i refuse to train him now we're hopefully still moving...cba paying out to get the smell of wee out of the carpets here.

It's looking like, best case scenario, we'll be moving when I'm 30wks. We need to get double glazing & central heating fitted too so this year will end well...

NorthernChinchilla · 09/09/2014 17:52

Owwww DrF, that will not be cheap...sorry for being dense, is it your place or the place you're moving to that needs the refurb?

Got home early today, yay, as I had a meeting round the corner from home. Getting a quote done for some minor landscaping out back, removing the not-at-all-a-death-trap decking ramp that cuts the bottom third of the garden in half.

And...found DP had left the front door open. All bloody day, not just unlocked, open. Thankfully we don't appear to have been burgled!

OP posts:
OiMissus · 09/09/2014 18:00

I got home from work early too. I went to a aluminium windows place to get priced up. I'm waiting for her to mail all the options we came up with to me and install prices. I want to get it under 10k. ouch ouchy ouch. But it needs doing so badly.
The big doors in the lounge have sellotape down one edge to create a seal to stop the wind blowing straight through, and the double glazing would have failed years ago!
I need to get back on the euromillions...
Off out for food tonight with a couple of mummy friends. table is booked for 8, am starving. I ate my (lunch) sandwich for breakfast!

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 09/09/2014 19:03

Hope nothing is missing & so glad the weather has been good today for you Northen!

Place we're (apparently) buying, although vendor is making noises now about it being so slow (considering we've had a buyer drop out on us already I think 4 & half months isn't too bad).

We've got two bays to redo, so think we'll have to do the worse ones now & leave the others for next year...and we need to buy a bigger car.

I'll share that euromillions with you Oi.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 09/09/2014 20:37

Can I have some of the millions too? Need a new conservatory.

Glad you didn't get robbed northern!

Oi, have fun tonight.

How long until mat leave chips?

Potty training going ok. He had three accidents at nursery, but all were when he was playing in the sand pit outside, which is his favorite ever so he was too engrossed. He did go and tell someone he had done it. Also, he did a pooh in the loo!

Chipandspuds · 10/09/2014 18:31

Just got 8 weeks to go Hop and cannot wait! Have just checked the local Surestart centre and they're now charging £1 or £2 for all sessions so I'm probably not going to go to quite so many baby groups as I'd thought, but have checked out other groups in the area and found a free one at the church and two free sessions a week at the library. Glad I know the routine this time around so it won't be quite so daunting!
