Oh no, lots of terrible nights again! Please don't throw stuff at me, but Persephone did 12 - 5.30 last night, her longest sleep ever! She seems totally exhausted at the moment, and her awful nappy rash is back so I don't know what's going on. More teeth? Anyway, I fully expect her to be hysterical later when my friend visits. The last time she saw her she was 7 weeks with untreated silent reflux, and screamed for three hours straight. I was hoping that we wouldn't have a repeat performance...

My sympathy and empathy with everyone else who had a bad night.

We're going to a maize maze today, and maybe for a little go on the 2p machines if we've time. Rock n roll.

Comiserations to all with bad sleepers. N is waking up regularly but only once or twice a night so not too bad. Feeding to sleep is no longer working with N, he just wants to crawl everywhere until he drops.

N suddenly came out in hives all over his head and face this morning and his eyes were swelling shut. Had an injection and seems fine but not sure what caused it and not looking forward to keeping a food diary. Prime suspects are an insect bite or eggs, but could be cheese/dairy.

Eggs will be a pain for me to avoid, and yogurt is the only food N reliably eats so need to get thinking. I suspect he will be eating a lot of sweet potato!

Enjoy the seaside toby. I suspect it'll be a bit bracing today!

altered are you bf or ff? Sorry, can't remember. Bear in mind that with either, if it is dairy then N's milk will need changing or you'll need to go dairy free for a while to see results. P eats lots of fake yoghurt, so it might not be so bad but fake cheese is horrific!

Don't know how I'll cope with work and no sleep. Only 1 week of maternity left (then 2 weeks holiday)

Yep book, I am bf so will be going non dairy and egg free. MIL was looking after him yesterday though and thought his eyes were looking very red then so my suspicions are focused on the cat hair sprinkled liberally around here, but we'll see.

getting it all works out somehow. The lack of sleep is a bit debilitating but my DH hates going to bed too so he had trained me up a bit before we had DD.

Im bf and dairy free too altered. I was told to do at least 6 weeks to allow it all to leave both our systems. Do you have to do egg at the same time? How will you know which is causing the problem?

Poor Percy. 6 dirty nappies so far today, accompanied by nappy rash and proper screaming when I change her. Wish I knew what is causing it :(

Teeth can be a prime suspect for horrid nappy rash, plus sometimes if they've had a lot of fruit and veg (acidy foods) that can upset things. It's worth trying some thrush cream on her bottom if normal cream isn't helping. Lots of nappy-free time too.

I think Archie's teething too. Dribbling like crazy and chewing everything in sight. He's waking up at odd times overnight too. Going to give him some ibuprofen after his dream feed tonight. I also had him weighed today. 17lbs 3ozs the little chunk! He's jumped up a centile too since we've started him on food.

Yes I've always just used whatever I've got at home (I'm a bit prone to it so usually have some).

The past few days when I'm holding S, she has started pressing her lovely wet dribbly open month against mine and I think she's trying to give me a kiss Does anyone else's baby do this? Shes probably not giving me a kiss but I'm going to pretend she is as it's very cute.

We went to our local country park today to road test the baby backpack we just bought, it's awesome. We like walking so seemed like a good and expensive investment. He seemed to enjoy looking over Daddy's head, v cute.

My nap refuser is currently sat in his automatic rocker with cbeebies on the tv on mute and spotify for my enjoyment. Lazy mummy.

We are off to the Lake District on Friday and a friend told us there's a few places where you can rent one to try so I think we will do that. That sounds amazing merry, even if it does rain. We had an ancient vango (?) with DD but didn't have a chance to use it with N and left it behind when we moved. It was great, but had no support for sleeping or shade from the sun. DH wanted to get a new one instead of the ergo. I kind of wish I had agreed!

We are also getting lots of headbutts/kisses and I was wondering the same thing. N doesn't seem too fussy about where though, he is happy with cheeks and shoulders too. Maybe his are just signs of teething!

Aww I remember DD doing the open mouth kisses. She'd head butt me and then lick my cheek. So cute!

Yep. DH is being licked every time he kisses N. He isn't impressed but his disgust just makes N giggle more.

I am a bit freaked out by the surprise MN mobile redesign, but I guess I'll get used to it. Just feels strange.

got the Osprey Poco Plus. It was expensive (£160) but it can take up to 48lb in weight so should last until he is walking consistently and it seemed worth paying a bit extra for a good quality one. It has excellent reviews and Dh seemed comfy enough, so far so good. Altered it has a sun shade that pops up out of the back, its so cool.

We are big Lake District fans, camping may have to wait a couple of years though! Whitby tomorrow so chippy lunch

48lbs is huge. Just weighed DD (2y 2m) and she's 28lbs and very averagely sized. I guess 48lbs has got to be about age 5?

Becca it reckons up to age 4. Tbh I can't imagine we are going to want to carry him at that age without slipping a disc but it at least we have the option.
