Glad your feeling better another

Just checking in. Haven't been able to sleep yet and only got 4 very broken hours last night and was awake for the day at 6. Walked about 5 miles today in an attempt to get her to nap longer, worked a little but hasn't helped her sleep tonight. Won't go down for more than 5 minutes Angry

Hello to the new thread.

Sorry everyone seems to be having a tough time at the moment but hooray! for holiday plans. We're counting down to visiting the ILs (lovely) now in a few weeks.

I've had the worst case of mastitis I've ever had this week. But I'm pretty much better now and it's the weekend so it's all good.

Not much sleep here, I'm hoping DS will grow into a better sleeper soon. I'm resisting weaning at the moment because I don't think he's ready but the temptation to try anything that might help with sleep is great!

I just wish morning would stop being any time after 5 and start being more like 6.30!

No sleep here yet either. Up since 3.30, and feeding hourly before that. DH doesn't even come in with us at weekends now, so feeling a bit rubbish. I just took P in to him for half an hour to try for some rest, and 10 minutes later had to retrieve her screaming from the bed where he'd left her to look for some socks Angry

Good to see you again another, glad to hear things are on the up :)

In awe of people planning holidays, we've only left town once because it is so hard to pacify her once she starts. The thought of being stuck in a car with her for several hours gives me the fear at the moment!

Such a lot of sleep refusers! I suspect there's a lot of fibbing about sleep in real life when so many of us aren't getting 8 hrs!
Fizzy forecast is great so you'll definitely see Inverness at its best. I'm off to rebuild our little windbreak/sunshade tent DH insisted on collapsing yesterday. I always seem to be breastfeeding when the open topped tour bus goes past the house so trying not to become a landmark...

book* my DH always has to put socks on before taking DD, it's quite annoying!

Can't really complain as he took her 4.30-11 and just brought her up for feeds. After 2 weeks of less than 4 hours a night 6 hours feels great!

spged I've just seen your post, what makes you think your DD has hayfever? Leah's eyes have been red and watery for a few days, and he nose keeps running but I'm not sure if it's hayfever or swimming! My mum had hayfever and a sensitivity to chlorine so it could be either!

makemine glad your getting over the mastitis!

I hope we all start getting some decent sleep soon!

Puggle think maybe with the thread no one wants to come on and be the person that says "yeah I'm getting a full 9hrs a night" when some of you are having a really hard time with baby's not sleeping. I always feel guilty when I see my friend who's baby is the same age as mine and is still up every two hours. For us it's just been total dumb luck because we do nothing special to make her sleep.

It's funny Spged I googled hay-fever in a babies the the other day, H has had a runny nose for weeks now, still clear so don't think it's a cold. So thought it might be hayfever. It's not really bothering her. Can't really find any help on it online.

I love hearing about the ones that sleep through on here - it gives me hope! I know what you mean though band, I always feel bad talking about the lovely birth we had when other people had a hard time of it. I've paid for that in lost sleep though Grin

Lovely weather here - so nice to be able to put her in a little summer dress for a change Smile

BandontheFun · 07/06/2014 16:30

Book H's birth was so not lovely so maybe her sleeping through just now is my reward for a horrific birth. Hee hee.

It's raining here today but the house is roasting so still put H is a summer romper, she looks pretty cute. Whenever the weather is sunny and warm outside I freak out that she might get burned so end up putting her leggings on anyway. She has so may sweet dresses that she has only worn inside and I can't find tights that fit her properly, they just look really baggy.

Report
BookTart · 07/06/2014 17:22

band 0-3 month tights are just right in the leg now, but P's fat little tummy means they are tight around her middle. She's 5 months next week though, so I've had a good bit of wear out of them! Debenhams ones have been the best fit I've found for her so far, but I've given up all hope of any fitting properly until she's much older. Come to think of it, no tights ever fit me properly either (short legs, massive gut)!

makeminea6x · 07/06/2014 18:54

Yeah DS has a disproportionately round tummy so he either has to wear uncomfortably tight trousers or have the legs flapping. He's truly massive though.

Yy to the car worries book. DS is not a fan and we'll be driving for about 4 hours for holiday. What doesn't kill you I suppose...

MrsGSR, Band, I think it's hay fever as the constant runny nose is clear and she's tearing. However it seems odd as some websites suggest she would have had to have gone through a season before hay fever would have developed. Annoyingly DH has particularly bad hay fever at the moment too. I'm going to see how C is after a couple of days and maybe pay a visit to the docs. Hope Leah and H improve. I'll let you know if I do go to the dr.

Keep writting hat fever by mistake. Think that might be my problem given the amount of headwear in my wardrobe that only gets worn in the privacy of my own joke! Wuss!

Had a lovely day here. Walked into town with C, DH and the dog as the plan was to go to the Whote Stuff to shop for my birthday. Why is it that when you go somewhere all prepared to spend stupid amounts of money, that you can never find anything right at all??! So left empty handed, but had a nice lunch out and then nice family time at home after. C's usual singing of nursery rhymes was upgraded to family singing and dancing to The Boss! :-)

Book, I bought ferry tickets tonight to go to stay with my family at the end of July. It's a 4 hour drive, then a 3 hour ferry and then another hour to their house. Now I have a month and a half to stress about it!!

We moved Henry in with his brother last night. They both slept so much better. Henry woke once, he had a massive leak through, but settled within a minute. He came into our bed at 5.30 for an hour, which seems like a win for us!

Leah's the same, although her runny nose seems a bit better today so maybe it was just the chlorine. From what I understand Hay fever is the same as any other allergy, you have to be exposed to the allergen at least once before you have a reaction. I don't know why you'd need to be exposed for a whole season though, I would have thought a day or so would be enough.

I like hearing story's of good sleep too! I kept hearing that no sleep is normal and we just have to put up with it, hearing that babies her age can sleep stops me feeling depressed!

Last night she slept 9-11.30, 12-2, 3-5, 5-7 and 7.15-9 which is amazing for her, I feel great :) I think it might be because I let her sleep on her front (she rolled there) which worried me a little but seems to have helped a lot!

amillion that's lovely to hear. I'm thinking of putting Cal in with his brother in a month or two.

Not wanting to jinx anything but we had a good night last night. Cal fell asleep at 10, woke up once at 3 and slept through to 7. Smile even if it's a one off it was lovely and I don't feel like death for about the first time in nearly 2 and a half weeks.

We have full on teething and it's horrible seeing her in pain. Regressed a bit as she's feeding to sleep a lot but can still self settle at night so not too worried we're creating a problem.

Good night stories. A slept 9:30 to 7 ish last night, only 1 wake the night before and before that 10 hours. I hope we are now out of the 4 month regression. Smile

Hope everyone's enjoying the weather.

Isn't it gorgeous today? I know the sunshine always makes me feel better, so I hope it does the same for all of you having a hard time.

We're off to Leeds Castle today because it's lovely for a walk/picnic. Mustn't forget M's sunhat today!

Archie will be sharing with his big sister when he's not waking up ten thousand times a night.

I'm sort of hoping my 2 can share one day too but I'm not brave enough to do it for a while. DD has never been a deep sleeper, although she gets better all the time.

Yes, what a lovely day today! We pottered about in the garden, DS had his swimming lesson, and then we had a BBQ. Both are now asleep!

I have a pile of ironing to do and then I'm off to bed! Heat is tiring.

I'm going to do my flexible working application this week I think. Hope they can give me 3 days. Fx.

Had a lovely day too, lunch at DPs parents and then relaxing at home.
Just got both boys to bed and would you believe it, a marching band thundered past and woke them up.

I had forgotten its marching band season again here in NI. I think it might have been the Orange order but I'm not sure.

Bad nights abound here due to tag teaming by all 3 kids. Ds is actually a good sleeper now (hope I haven't jinxed it) 2 wakes, but feeds straight back to sleep. Dd2 has sleep apnoea so stops breathing multiple times a night and wakes herself. Dd1 still comes into our bed in the early morning too. I think part of me not coping before was the sleep deprivation.

We are putting ds in with his sisters tomorrow, they have to share the big bedroom until we move next year. I found it easier to transfer at this age with dd2 than with dd1 who was 1 year old when she moved out of our room.
