i was less than pre-preg weight (yes i was LIGHTER than b4 i was preg amazing!) about 4 months ago, however i darent weigh myself now, at 24 weeks preg i look HUGE already. quite depressing really, however i did get loads of really nice maternity clothes in the next sale near me.

sorry i have been away for so long, i got married at the weekend, and have been frantically organising it as we had not done anything in the lead up to xmas and only booked reception on the 12th jan! i didnt look to bad i must say, and it all went swimmingly. i bought tom a suit on ebay hand he look SOOOOOO cute he outshone me everyone thought he was adorable and he was so well behaved.

we have a further development on the lactose allergy front. he is now allergic to soya..... so have had to switch his milk AGAIN and being referred to a dietician for further tests to check this is def an allergy. doctors!

Tom is pulling himself up, and standing alone for like a second before grabbing the nearest thing to steady him! we have also progressed from baby foods to him having what we eat pretty much. is anyone elses babies insisting on eating what you do? and only what you do? if i dont try it to show him how 'nice' it is he wont even try it. frustrating, as i dont like alot of veg, and have wonderful preg food aversions too nearly any strong flavoured/smelling foods. we are getting a table and chairs this week and will be feeding tom when we eat more to avoid the battles.
he is also being stubborn about sleeping during the day, making him super grumpy, but i tried the gro-bag thing, made him angry instead of upset and he screamed for nearly an hour before i gave up. hoping this is just a stage that he will grow out of, fingers crossed!!

gosh that was a long post, serves me right for not posting for such a long long time. i promise to post at least weekly from now on.

speak to you all soon

snow snow snow snow I'm so excited grin]

Then I realised that the buggy won't like the snow. Not so excited now.

And ds not very well so maybe I shouldn't take him out to play in it

DebitheScot · 08/02/2007 10:55

And Congratulations Natty, you should put some pictures on here of your wedding day.

Melh27 · 08/02/2007 18:19

Hi everyone,

I am new to mumsnet, and saw that there had been a few questions asked on here about BLW, so I thought I would join in.

I have BLW'd my ds George from 24 weeks, and he is now 8.5 months. He is putting on weight really well after a very slow start, and I honestly think it is the best decision i have made so far as a mummy!

I have started a blog about his BLW if anyone wants a look, the link is

love

DebitheScot · 09/02/2007 11:26

I have no choice but to do baby led feeding (not really weaning any more I guess) as ds won't let us feed him, has to be finger foods as he's not ot enough coordination for cutlery. Some good recipes on your blog, very helpful as I've been struggling to find a good variety of things he'll eat

Dofeellikedancing · 10/02/2007 23:29

Congratulations Natty, sounds like you had a wonderful day!

littlelapinofLURVE · 11/02/2007 15:40

Hi ladies

I just wanted to highlight the "Mile for Maude" thread for you, it's here ... for those who haven't seen any of the threads, we are doing a 1 mile sponsored walk in memory of ggglimpopo's daughter Maude, who died in her sleep 6 weeks ago. She was two years old, and a victim of cot death.

We've set up a website - www.amileformaude.com - with all the details and a list of the locations; there are about 40 so far all over the country, so hopefully some of you may be able to join in? If you'd like to help organise, even better!

The walk is only 1 mile long so that little ones can join in. I know ours will only just be a year old, but I reckon my DS will be toddling a few steps by then - if not a whole mile!

Hope you and your LOs are all very well . Thanks.

NattyThomasandBump · 12/02/2007 11:55

thanks for the congrats, the day was great!

thanks to mel for the recipes and advice, as tom has started refusing being spoon fed, but has not quite got the hang of self feeding, so we were switching to more finger based foods anyway.

can i just say i dont care how hum-buggy this makes me but i bloody hate snow! my pushchair was all sliding around, thank god hubby was of work, picture big preg lady trying to control a stroller over the ice! so i hate it, hate, hate hate snow grrrr....
tom wasnt bothered either, infact he seems to be afraid of snow
fine by me... im an evil mum i know.

everything good here, DH is back to work tomorrow after having a week of work for the wedding, will miss his help terribly as i feel so much bigger each day at the moment, im just knackered!

speak to you all soon

BexieID · 13/02/2007 16:49

Hi there. I've been meaning to post on this thread for awhile now. Bubba Tom was born last April, 6 days late and exactly 2 weeks before my birthday! We moved from Berkshire to Scotland when he was 3 months old.

Our day usually begins between 8am-10am and ends between 10pm amd midnight. I work 3 nights a week, which doesn't really help with getting Thomas to bed any earlier as I pick him up from the Grandparents on my way home.

He has 2 teeth, the front bottom ones. 18 more to go! He keeps banging his head when he's upset about something or frustrated. He's just started to pull himself up to stand.

I am still breastfeeding but would like to wean him off me over the next couple of months. He only likes scrambled egg if his daddy makes it. He only likes yellow coloured balloons. He likes steak! He will only drink non milk out of a Doidy cup!

Is anyone planning birthday parties for their LOs?

WriggleJiggle · 13/02/2007 21:43

Hi there Bexie. Thats a very long day! How is it going working such long hours and trying to fit in seeing your little one. Do you get weekends off?

dd is up to speed crawling now and walking around pushing her train and trolley thing. Todays new skill was getting on and off her rocking horse on her own. Yesterday she spent all day handing things to me. I'm such a proud mummy .

I'm also starting to try and encourage her to cut down on the b/f. It is now down to morning, lunch and bed, but it would be lovely to drop the lunchtime one. She doesn't miss it if I'm out over lunch, but if I'm at home she wants milk.

WriggleJiggle · 19/02/2007 18:14

Arrrghhhhh! Am tearing my hair out now with my little one. She is such a rubbish sleeper I'm exhausted. Anyone elses dd/ds doing the 3 times a night waking thing? Am considering soundproofing her room

Homsa · 19/02/2007 20:32

Same here, around 3 times a night. Although with co-sleeping and bfing, it's quite bearable tbh. Not sure if I can find the willpower to move her into her own room and go through a few nights of hell... but I guess it would be a good idea to do this now, while she still forgets quite quickly!

Does everyone else find their LO's really hard work at the moment? This thread has gone ever so quiet! DD has had 1 chest infection and 2 colds in three weeks. But even without the constant illness she's really hard work at the moment. You just can't leave her unsupervised even for a second - she'll find the one Playmobil cup I've missed when tidying up -, and the moment I start doing the dishes or whatever, she'll start pulling herself up at my legs, crying and wanting to be picked up. I've basically given up on the idea of getting anything done while she's awake, as I know I'll just get stressed out, and so I just play with her for hours in our very very messy house...

mellow2 · 20/02/2007 13:29

Hello all,

I haven't posted for ages. My lo was really clingy until last week. I was told by moms with older kids that it's 'cos she was at the height of her separation anxiety.

She not so clingy anymore in the day and is now back to her old self in the day time. I'm really glad about that it meant I could actually do some work when I was working from home.

However, she has stopped sleeping through the night though. I was going to try withholding bfing but it was doing my head in so I gave up in the name of sanity.

twinkywinky · 22/02/2007 00:08

.

twinkywinky · 22/02/2007 00:15

hello. my friend introduced me to this tonight so here we go. hopefully get some good hints and tips.
my wee boy is coming on great and crawling like a pro !
He is sleeping well but wakens about 3 or 4 for milk. we have tried a supper before bed but it makes no odds.
any tips.
only has two we teeth but he uses them well.he was born 3 april 06, 8lb 7oz by emergency section.6 years of trying for wee angel and one miscarriage so he is very much longed for and we are thankfull for him every day.looking forward to meeting you all.

Ponka · 22/02/2007 15:55

{Ponka creeps in quietly after 1 month of not posting }

I got into one of those situations where I didn't have much time but there was a lot to read before I could post so I kept leaving it.

Cool. 3 new people. Welcome all of you.

Congrats Natty. I had no idea you were getting married (picture please!)

Homsa, Yes I have found DS2 quite hard work recently. I think it's since he started walking. He just follows me round the house crying as soon as I leave the room and clinging to my leg when he catches up. Seperation anxiety begins here. He also constantly pinches things from DS1 that he is playing with or just grabs him. I'm constantly pulling him away. Having said that, he is so cute at the moment and so smiley when I'm right next to him.

Homsa · 23/02/2007 09:40

Ponka, he's walking already?? Wow! He must be the first on this thread.

I think you're right about separation anxiety, DD is now finally over her dreadful cold and still clingy as ever. The only time she'll occupy herself for a few minutes is when she's doing something she's not supposed to - eating toilet paper, licking dirty shoes, scoffing bits of old food she's found under the table... DH was saying the other day maybe she'd be a better eater if I just casually dropped all her food on the floor and let her find it!

Is anyone else doing baby signing? DD has just started signing "duck", "no" (she hears that one a lot!), and "milk"! It's amazing how quickly she's picking this up, so completely different from DS, who is autistic and didn't get the hang of signing until he was two.

Oh, and welcome to the newbies, and congrats Natty, sorry forgot to say earlier

WriggleJiggle · 24/02/2007 19:10

Wow P, walking and signing. - at the signing, definately not at the walking .

Reasuring to hear other little ones aren't sleeping and are being very demanding. The only way of getting a few minuts peace at the moment is to stand her infront of a fully loaded bookcase .

Have just found out no. 2 is on the way.

Nip · 25/02/2007 15:52

wrigglejiggle - CONGRATULATIONS great news!!!!!

NattyThomasandBump · 25/02/2007 19:29

congrats WJ! another pregnant mum to moan to
things good here tom been taking steps all week, he just needs to get the hang of stopping (other than falling) and we may well be there! tom has been sleeping poorly too think it must be something to do with all the new skills they learn during the day. am finding him hard work at moment too, wont let me do anything around the house its most frustrating!
there are a few pics on my blog of the wedding :: read my journal at 2under2at21.blogspot.com and cheers for the congrats!

DebitheScot · 26/02/2007 12:29

wow, it had all gone quiet here then I went away for a week and have come back to find its got busy again.

Congrats WJ and LOL at your comments about thh bookcase, we have the same method of getting some peace here too. Also know exactly what homsa means, it's amazing how fascinating things like tissues and shoes are.

The latest thing here is climbing the stairs. DS went from only getting up onto the first stair one day to getting all the way to the top the next. He can also climb up on things that aren't too high (can get on our bed as it has a ledge round it but not things like sofa).
He spent the last few days with my friends kids who are 4 and 22months and has since been doing new things. He used their sit and ride toys to walk across the room (think we'll have to get him one) and yesterday sat and played with his cars for a good few minutes after he'd obviously watched friends ds playing with his.

He has also been quite hard work recently. Think he is also getting more teeth (numbers 7 and 8) as he's been grizzly and puting everything in the mouth again. He is crawling or bumshuffling to absolutly everything and has gone through a clingy phase too. It was while we were away staying with family and I put it down to being introduced to new people every day. And his dad was away with work so I was the only person that stayed constant. It was hard work esp when we were at my mums and I was trying to make his tea while he clung to my legs moaning and my mum didn't even offer to help.

BexieID · 01/03/2007 14:31

Does anyone elses LO not hold things and then put it in their mouths? Every baby I see will hold something and it usually goes straight in their mouths to chew on. Thomas has never done this!

DebitheScot · 02/03/2007 12:03

Lucky you! Ds had stopped puting everything in his mouth for a while but has started again, mainly with paper. I spend my life getting my fingers bitten off trying to rescue all sorts of things from him

BexieID · 02/03/2007 12:45

Maybe I should count it as a blessing then, but he won't even pick up food and put it in his mouth. He gets upset if you hold his hand and do it for him!

pepperrabbit · 04/03/2007 17:07

Sneaking in again after not posting for ages.... I blame Ponka for making me feel guilty!
DS2 is hard work at the mo as well, crawling at the speed of light, pulling himself up on anything he can reach but especially my legs and especislly when I'm busy! He can climb onto DS1's bed now as well and even though it's really low, it still hurts to fall off - and he always manages to fall the way you dive off a boat - backwards with no attempt to save himself.

Was just smiling at WJ announcing she's PG when i had one of those moments when you think - hang on - I'm on antibiotics - and the mini pill - how do they affect each other???? (as I felt marginally better this morning and DH was desperate sorry if TMI).

PR sidles off to look at calender. Bother bother bother.
