Ladies, babies, and bumps, welcome to the new thread!

Should we start this off with an update from us all like last time? I thought that was nice, especially for those who get little chance to catch up.

SS Happy Birthday Mia Hope you have a lovely day

Rodeo ha ha ha read that Jess had a screaming nose at first and thought who the hell is D1393 & 99 (Diege & GG very clever).

Londoner Ben was in with us up until a year as my parents were living with us, so had his room and Thomas is still in with us at the moment. Romance whats that then? the best thing to happen in the last two weeks was that Ben and Thomas have both slept through the night for 2 nights running, (Thomas has been in bed with dh & me) and the only thing I got woken up for was my dh elbowing me in the head 5x - Needless to say I did point out to him that he'd be able to scratch the middle of his own back if he did it one more time

GG I'll e-mail Tex as well as she said she might be up for it.

Right best go as have just sneaked on leaving dh with the boys. Have a great weekend all Beks

GarfieldsGirl · 21/10/2006 14:40

SS, completely feel for you with your neighbour, what an as. Happy Birthday to Mia, did she have a good day?

As is always the case, one gets better, and teh becomes unwell! Owen's been curled up on teh settee all day, and I was up most of the night with him.

Can any of you Londoners help me out? I'm wondering how long it takes to get from Wembley to Waterloo. I'm going to see Kylie in Jan, the concert should finish about 11ish, and the last train is at 2345. Do you think wed have ebough time to get out of Wembley, and then to Waterloo?

Londoner · 21/10/2006 17:14

Hi all and belated Happy Birthday to MIA! Hope she had a great day SS.

GG - NO! I wouldn't risk it. Unless you leave a bit early. If you stay to the end it could take you up to an hour just to get out of the venue and to the station as there will be you and a few thousand others - also queuing to get into the station and to get on trains I would think..... Remember going to see band before and making sure we left at certain time before end of the show and catching our last train, just, but you might hate the thought. Look here , HTH.

Rodeo - que?

Diege - knitting is sooooo cool, only don't borrow any patterns from babyonboard. What are you making 1st? Lol at you buying all the gear, but of course! Am v.impressed as only can do 'scarves' myself.

Have a great weekend all!

Diege · 21/10/2006 22:13

Hi everyone! Very happy as I've secured a trip to hobbycraft fir tommorrow , so lots of spends I think!! Am thinking of starting on a few basic baby knits LONDONER, say booties/hats/scarfs etc, but in really funky colours, with pom poms etc. I'm not a total beginner (have done cardis/jumpers in the past), but am certainly very rusty! A few friends have shown some interest, so who knows, could be a whole new business .Best of all is that it's a new interest, and will hoipefully lower the blood pressure!! RODEO: just about deciphered your post, lol!! How annoying; will you be able to sort it out without major hassle? GG: very of the Kylie concert, it will be wonderful!!! Shame you couldn;t stay over perhaps, and so avoid transport issues? BEKS, lol at your romantic nights!! Strange how sleep takes on so much importance!!
Right, on that note I'm off to bed, to dreamn oif my new life as multimillinaire baby booties maker

Diege · 21/10/2006 22:15

Meant 'how annoying' for you, not me RODEO, just in case you read it that way! Do all our messages read like that too?

GarfieldsGirl · 22/10/2006 06:35

Good Morning!

I'm not as cheery as I sound, been up since about 4 with Owen, and now I'm feeling like crap.

Thanks for the link Londoner, its 27mins to Waterloo, giving us about 10 - 15 mins max to get out of there to the tube, and then less than 10 mins to get from the tube up to the train. Definately won't manage that.

Unfortunately Diege, its Owens 1st day back at school after Christmas the following day so staying over is out of the question, and my friend won't have any spare holiday to use so she's got work. We went to see Kylie last year at Earls Court and she was brilliant. Tickets are £20 more expensive this time, but we just had to go, and DP doesn't know its the Showgirl tour again. So sshhhhhhh, don't tell him!

Diege · 22/10/2006 10:59

Oh GG, poor you with such an early post!! But lucky you with the showgirl tour to look forward to!!
It's lovely and sunny here, but I'm still focused on my hobbycraft visit - no parks today!! The girls have been bribed with promises of 'childrten's craft', and DH is resigned...
Right, better get the place in some order, the washing pile is escaping across the kitchen floor

Diege · 22/10/2006 21:38

Well, ended up at the garden centre, so world domination through knitting will have to wait... Total wash-out here after the bright start!! Highlight of day is that Libby has stood up for 10 seconds, no hands etc, oh and we have started cows milk, a little ahead of schdule . Feel quite sad about there being no more scoops and leaking bottles ...
Right, back to the ironing pile!

tessasmum · 23/10/2006 16:49

Where is eveyone?

How come you ended up in a garden centre Diege? DH's attempt to save world from boottee mountain

And well done Libby on standing - just watch your mother, she knows what to expect next and may be trying to attach velcro to your bottom
Wish I'd tried it. Ash has been walking for about 6 weeks now (tho camping trip slowed him down a bit as someone tipped the ground up AND made it bumpy - very unfair!) He seems to have moved beyond 'pinball locomotion' ie. bouncing off furniture to get anywhere but stills staggers from side to side a bit. DH reckons we just need to put a bolt through his neck and he would be set for Halloween I went for the alternative version and got him a ghost costume - very silly and totally unnecessary but very cute

Have your builders finally gone BEKS?
Ours went a few weeks ago and I was very relieved although they were only in the garden, don't think I could cope with them in the house. I REALLY hope its been worth it for you.
Office not ready to inhabit yet, 2 coats of paint on but needs at least one more. Then we have the fun logistics of dismantling the current office, complete with custom-made (by DH) 'desk', and getting it all put together in the new office. Getting my computer working downstairs (and Ash-proved!) and then I can start putting a proper bedroom together for Ash and getting Tessa's to look like a 3 yr olds room rather than the dumping ground it seems to be now. If its done by Christmas I will be amazed!

Had to send in Tessa's application for 'big school' on Friday, can't believe she will be starting in September
Hope everyone else is well and having a lovely half-term.

Diege · 23/10/2006 19:53

Hi TESSA, and everyone else! . Lol at the staggering monster TESSA - yes, it would have been appropriate, but the ghost sounds very cute too We have gone for the puple spider look, with a cute little cobweb hat; the older girls are very pleased that she has something to wear, if a little bemused!
All is well here. Graduation for last year's students tommorrow (due to us old militants going on strike!)which feels really strange as it's usually in July!
Right, enough about me, what about everyone else??

browniechick · 23/10/2006 22:02

Hello! Ashamed to say I still haven't managed to get the meet up photos on the yahoo yet! sorry! promise will try and do it tomorrow night (half term so no Brownies!)
My poor little boy has a very very sore bum - I am guessing due to teething (our explanation for anything out of the ordinary!) he has 3 teeth on the bottom, and 4 through (but not fully) on the top - bless (actually it could be more than that, but am NOT risking putting my fingers in there again - they're sharp!)
He woke last night at 4.30am, howling bless him, changed another poey bum, smothered him in metanium and then gave Calpol eventually he dropped off again at 5am for a couple of hours. He has been a single handed poo factory today - and he will not stay still - am surprised I don't have poo in my hair, and all over my trousers (not just the usual snot, cream and sick that I usually have!)
Oh well, other than that he is doing very well! He is getting more adventurous with his standing - lets go for a few seconds, before crouching down then finally sitting! He is funny!
Feel like this has been a self-abosrbed me post - sorry
Never seem to get 5 minutes to myself at the moment! Anyway, off to finsih watching Vincent - hope to catch up again tomorrow.

Brownie
xx

Hi everyone
LisaLisa, good to see you again and that everythings ok. When is your little ones birthday? Is he called Natanel? Just seems to ring a bell!

Diege well done on starting the cows milk, have started offering it as a drink to Seth but he's not too keen!

Seth has started walking now, since friday really started with a couple of staggared steps but now he can go from one end of the room to the other. I can't believe how quickly he's come on!!
Had him weighed today had not taken him for 6 weeks anyway he has lost 2.5 lbs so is now just over 20 lbs again! I'm not worried as he appears healthy in every way, eats for England but he never stops moving, I guess thats the reason for it!

Still no Rodeo? Guess computers still on the blink!

Brownie Ouch hope the sore bum is soon back to its normal peachyness!

Morning everyone! Hi LISALISA!! Yes, we remember you , and good to hear your news.
Three at home today, and it's already a bit 'fraught' here, with arguments about TV/breakfasts/anything at all!! Had some nice news last night - my sister is expecting another baby!!! She has two girls, 6 and 4, and is still a bit shocked, but happy I think . Have to say too that it made me a bit broody, lol!!
Am still searching for another job, and saw a good one advertised yesterday at a university that I did my phd, so fond memories, plus it's quite prestigious. Only problem is that I'd have to take a cut in pay, plus it's for a fixed 2 year term. Plus points, gets me away from where I am now, is the best place in GB for sociology, I know the place, and it's flexible hours (full-time down to part-time), and once I'm 'in there', hopefully I could get other work?? Oh, I don't know, doesn't sound too good once I put it down in writing does it!! Feel good for just looking tbh, at least I am planning my escape!!
Right, another tantrum seems to be brewing; dd1 want to do 'keyboarding' on here, NO!!!!!!
Oh and I'll post the meet-up photos toinight, promise!!!

RODEO!!! Yeah!! Good to hear from you!! Yes, it is the sister who was predicted twins, though she's had a scan and it's a singleton!Must mean she has twins in a few years....
Right, dds are driving me mad, so we are going to brave the downpour!

browniechick · 25/10/2006 21:30

Hey all! Gosh Rodeo it's like trying to break an Enigma code!!! LOL, although it is remarkably easy to decipher your messages once you get the hang of it!
I have finally posted a few of the Stratford Meet Photos on the yahoo group! I don't have the group shots though, so I have escaped appearing so far!
I think T's bum is on the mend (not soo sore) godarn these pesky teeth - they do have a lot to answer for!

Right, think I need/deserve an early night now! So off to bed with my book....Off to see my cousin perform at the Symphony Hall in B'ham tomorrow with his RAF band (well, I am if I can get home from work in time )
