Ladies, babies, and bumps, welcome to the new thread!

Should we start this off with an update from us all like last time? I thought that was nice, especially for those who get little chance to catch up.

OP posts:

Morning!
Thanks girls! Oh this time last year I was cr*pping myself in the delivery suite, waiting to be delivered! Thanks for the lovely cards (& freddo Diege!) and the little book Beks! Got Sean's card too GG
She's currently pushing her birthday bee around She's had some nice little toys and clothes, but obviously the packaging is far more interesting!
Got to get a bit of party food for toddlers and I've promised B&J some for tea too (if only to get them to go to school) so better get ready, speal later, Bye!

Diege · 10/10/2006 11:12

Londoner · 10/10/2006 14:30

Hi everyone!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR JE-EESSS.....HAPPY BIIIIIRTHDAY TO YOOOOOU!

Hope you have a lovely day in the Rodeo house.xxxxx

Many congrats SS and good to see you post.

ChaCha, are you kidding, E is also co-sleeping insomniac..... and goes to bed between 9 and 11pm also, knackering isn't it? Scallywags, tut. Good to read your news.

Hi to everyone else too, gotta go.

LaylaandSethsmum · 10/10/2006 17:45

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE JESS !!!

Can't believe how this year has gone it realy makes me feel but hope she had a lovely day! Did she get Seths card? Typically the one that has the shortest distance to go takes the longest if not!

Anyway just popped on to say happy birthday.
Glad your scan went well ChaCha are you letting on wether its a pink or blue one?

Hi SS congrats on your pregnancy, sometimes these things are just meant to be!

Glad you all had a lovely day yesterday...

Really really must go now spaghetti is being flung!! xxxx

ChaCha · 10/10/2006 21:06

Hey Rodeo, Hope J's b'day has been a memorable one for all the family. A year already eh? WoW!

Have the addresses been posted on Y then? I must have missed them - sorry!

Hi Londoner - Knackering doesn't quite sum it up this evening but have left LO with his dad - I must sleep! Next year is going to be such fun I'm sure

DS was happily playing with friend's DD aged 4, they were really cute together playing with various toys and DS crawling around after her etc. All of a sudden I spot him up on his knees both hands firmly attached to each side of her hair and pulling with all his might trying to bite her nose/cheek/face whilst screaming in high pitches Pls tell me this has something to do with teething. He seems to be doing this a lot lately and then stuffs his fist in mouth. It's getting embarrasing.

Off to bed x

browniechick · 10/10/2006 22:17

Hey all,
Happy Birthday Jess (just made it!!) hope you have a fabuloous 1st birthday (think she is the first to have the 1st - is this right!?)
Sorry, not organised enough to send card, but sent text a few minutes ago - sorry it was late Rodeo, thought about it this afternoon, got distracted at work, went to brownies, dropped a brownie home, got in just before 9pm, then lost track of time.....ssoorrryyy

Ok, might dash to bed now, for some lovely sleep - will try and catch up properly tomorrow -
Hi to all others [waves, very sleepily!)

Brownie

xx

Londoner · 11/10/2006 10:03

Hello all,

LOL ChaCha, hope you managed some rest last night.... does Z sleep soundly once he's off? This one crawls round the bed in her sleep and keeps reaching out for me in a panic and pinches me to make sure I'm there - or maybe just to make sure I don't get too much quality sleep lol. She still has night feeds too, does your LO? Lol at hilarious hair pulling/biting behaviour, your description was classic! Yes, E will suddenly try and pull my hair/ face/ head-butt me/ scratch out eyes etc, oh how I laugh lol ..... Do I detect you worrying about how you'll juggle when lo2 arrives? What d'you think you'll do as far as co-sleeping goes? Will you have them both in with you? Understand there are great books on the subject although have not read myself.... maybe about time I did eh?

Rodeo - how's our little 1 year old then? Has she turned into a toddler overnight? I always think they change quite dramatically at around 1, lengthening out, and the facial bone structure altering to a more child rather than baby-like look? Did she like her cakes? Lovely to hear about her enjoying the bee.

Hi to everyone else too, Diege hope you got home earlier than last week, Busy, nice to see your christening pictures, Beks -you okay? 'Nothing to report' didn't sound like you, you okay? Ah-just realised didn't reply to your post on meeting up soon - course would love to, so mad here with party prep for tomorrow - and doing all on my own. Love to all.xx

Londoner · 11/10/2006 10:07

... babyonboard ...............wherefore art thou?

Rodeo · 11/10/2006 11:51

Morning!
Yes she had a lovely day yesterday A bit too much and was an over-tired sugar-loaded wreck by bedtime - too much chocolate! Thanks again for the birthday wishes, they'll be loads over the next few months I'm sure they'll be loads of 'Where has the time gone?/This time last year/They grow up so fast' comments too
Ooh Chacha, poor little girl! Jess is a face and neck pincher and that really hurts. An 'OW!' or 'No' usually results in tears too. I suppose it feels quite nice to dig nails/teeth etc in to soft flesh but it isn't nice for the person on the other end!
Right off to have a school dinner with dd at the juniors, yum - it's roast beef today! Just the thing for this awful weather!!

JenJam · 11/10/2006 16:34

Hi Rodeo.

I just logged on to say a big fat Happy Birthday to Jess! ...for yesterday (under breath)

it's unbelieveable how quick this year has zipped by!

big salivary kiss and clumsy hug from FinnyBoy

Jen xx

Rodeo · 11/10/2006 19:45

Evening!
Thanks Jen! How are you doing? Are you back at work now? And how's our dark-haired little boy?
Just been occupying myself reading this! Awwwww! Was looking for a list of birthdays to put on Yahoo so I have an excuse for my nostalgia hit!

Rodeo · 11/10/2006 19:52

Just been reading some more, have to say I really miss Jenjam's mega late-night posts they made very good reading and they still make me chuckle now

browniechick · 11/10/2006 20:16

Helloo! Gosh it's so quiet on here at the moment! Anyone heard from Bob? Hope she is ok? (you lurking bobber?) we doo miss you....

Guess we could try and sort out all birthdays from the stats thread?

Don't think I had joined you guys at the point of that nostalgic thread Rodeo.....seems weird to think that I feel as though I know you all so well now, yet I haven't even been here a year yet!

Well, just filled our last space at Brownies - we are now back up to maximum capacity.....no-one set to leave again till next Summer! (Unless they all decide to hate me overnight! now there'san idea!!)

Any more thoughts and assistance with my changing bag dilemma? Come on you shoppers you.......

Speak soon, will def try and get the photos on yahoo by the weekend!

xx

Tex111 · 11/10/2006 20:38

Hi all! Thought I would finally come over and say hi. I've been lurking when I can but things have been typically chaotic here.

Rodeo, happy belated birthday to Jess!! Amazing that a whole year has passed.

Hi Beks, got your email about Thomas's party but we have another Halloween party that day. Do give him a big kiss for us. We should meet up soon.

Londoner, so sorry to hear about your house full of coughs. How is everyone doing now?

Bob, where are you?? Haven't even seen you on IM lately.

Hello Diege, ChaCha, Brownie, GG, Nova, Tessa and anyone else I've missed. I've noticed some new names on here. Welcome to the group ladies!!

We've been having some ups and downs. The short story is that I've been prescribed antidepressants but they are making a big difference and I'm feeling much better . I was really down after my sister went back to the US and then I started struggling with Rosie's special diet, Tobes decided he hated school, blah, blah, blah. Getting to grips with it all now thank goodness.

Rosie is doing very well. Still not walking but cruising and crawling and getting into everything. She can say a few words - baba (bottle), banana, cracker, dada, and maaaamaaaa. She's also started nodding yes and no (mostly no) and signing 'milk', 'all done' and 'up'. She and Toby play very nicely together most of the time. We've got some new pics which I'll put on the yahoo group.

And that's about it from us. I'm off to finally download the photos I took over the summer. Hope you're all well!

sarahsausage · 12/10/2006 10:44

Good morning,

Happy (belated) Birthday to Jess!

Beks - Baby due 8th june by my calculations although if the doctor goes from lmp it will be 25th may. Either way will be having a section so will be about 2? weeks before due date anyways. So probably may.

Lottie is co-sleeping too, she usually goes down in her own bed after falling asleep on me, then wakes in the night and wants to come in with me. She just will not settle in her own bed once she has woken and as Mia is in that room i don't want lottie waking her. Will have to be sorted before baby comes theres no way i can fit 5 in my bed!!

Rodeo - LO's fine and doing well, thanks. Lottie's coming on a lot quicker than Mia did, took her frst steps at 9 1/2 months and is now walking most of the time and falls over less and less. I just can't believe where all this time has gone!

Thanks for all congrats ladies. Although it came as a big i'm starting to get a little excited!

Well i must go see to Mia. She's poorly today so not at nursery and is demanding a "huggle"!

novadandypowder · 12/10/2006 12:44

Hi ladies

SarahS - good to see you back on board here, be lovely if you can stay with us. Don't worry, we don't seem to chat as much as we used to so it's not so hard to catch up. Am thinking of giving up on the antenatal thread I'd joined as they write 100 messages a minute!

Tex - lovely to hear from you too

Rodeo - Glad J had a good birthday. DH and I can't seem to stop buying stuff for noo's, and she's only going to be interested in the wrapping paper!

Londoner - hi (waves)

Chacha - noo co-sleeps when she's poorly or having trouble sleeping, but she's very good at going back into her cot when she's better. She also loves to bite noses and loves to scratch my squishy ample bosom area (sure they're bigger than last time).

Was a bit miffed today as noo didn't cry when I handed her over at nursery - she doesn't love me anymore (sob)

Rodeo · 12/10/2006 22:00

Another quiet day!
Hi Nova! Sounds like Nat's starting to enjoy nursery - hurray! KWYM about the ante-natal threads, I used to post at least every hour on ours! Not easy with a 12 month old though....anyway I love hearing pg news, so feel free to post it here!
SS, lovely to hear your starting to feel excited Wow, can't believe Lottie's walking! What a clever girl! Don't think Jess will be walking for another couple of months yet, she's not got the confidence!
Tex! Hello! Hope Rosie's getting better - love her new pics (esp the Art one!) Good for you on the ad front, better to sort it now, nip it in the bud as they say, than it getting out of control later And little Rosie's diet sounds really tough, I doubt I could cope as well as you.
Hi Brownie! Can't believe you weren't on the ante-natal threads! It seems like you've been around far ages! Meant in the nicest possible way obviously Haven't got the foggiest about changing bags, sorry - I've never owned one!
How was the late night Diege? BTW, Bella & Joe really loved meeting their penpals! They're lovely girls, but you already know that!
Hi to everyone else, speak tomorrow x x x

Beksmum · 13/10/2006 14:33

Afternoon all

Tex so lovely to see you post I was wondering where you had gone, sorry to hear things have been tough, but well done for sorting yourself out with ad's, if you fancy a chat or if I can help in any way, please just give me a call at home, we're always around.

For info girls I had forgotten i'd done it but I put all the baby b'days on the calendar when they were born. The only ones missing will be Chully, GG And Brownie I think but if you're not there add yourselves on to the yahoo site calendar for me!

Nova hope Nat has a lovely b'day on Sunday, if I don't get a chance to post again. I'd forgotten she shares her b'day with my dh. We're going out for tapas on Sunday lunchtime - yum and we're planning on going to Hastings/Battle tomorrow as they are having a battle re-enactment their which I think Ben will like.

Right just a quick one from me as I 'm feeling dog rough, would probably ok if someone could cut my head off for me - but I suppose that's not very practical Love to all Beks

GarfieldsGirl · 13/10/2006 20:52

Hi just a quickie to say;

Happy Birthday Noo for Sunday.

I doubt I'll be around as it's also my DPs birthday. Happy Birthday to your DH too BEKs!

Today is 9 years that DP and I have been together. Where does the time go?

Hope you're all well xx

JenJam · 14/10/2006 10:40

Hi all, i've got one of those quiet moments when dp has taken Finn off for a run in the'jogger'; works well for both of us - he feels vindicated for overbidding for it on ebay and i get one of those galaxy chocolate moments. so I'm sat here witha nice cup of tea at the kitchen table, wondering how it all got so busy that i felt I didn't have time to post anymore. There's so much to do and F is into everything! he wants to walk everywhere, he ricochets? around the flat at high speed bumping into the doorways, the doors (knocking the ironing board that is 'cleverly', if a bit precariously wedged behind the door. This week we've had his fingers 'bitten' by grandma's kitchen cupboards x 1, bitten by mummy's kitchen cupboards x 2 (slow learning on the closing door front), Got home on Wed night to see he had cut his scalp M the nanny turned her back to cook his lunch for one minute and the temporary stairgate that was propped in the hall fell onto him, cutting his head. there are too many stairs in my house!
we're looking for somewhere else to live right now --- proving quite a job, especially as everything family sized is so expensive, and we don't want to leave london.
Rodeo aaah i felt touched by your post. i would love to read up on all our posts again. luckily beks sent a word doc containing all the posts --- one day, when i'm retired probably, I'll read it and go all goo-ey. wish i kept a diary of life with F ever since.
it's amazing that some of you are having second babies so soon - nova when are you due? who else is havin g ababy? chacha, any more mamas to be out there? I'm starting to -feel the force- myself. i am magnetically drawn to television documentaries about giving birth, special babies, extraordinary mums etc.DP not yet convinced that sooner is better for us though, what with us trying to sort out new living arrangements etc.
today we're going for lunch with some childless friends of ours, who haven't seen F since Feb i don't think they are going to be prepared for the tornado we are bringing with us.
Tex - good to hear from you - ar e you taking the ads for post natal depression or is a mix of things going on in your life? (hope this is not too personal...my mum was prescribed ads after i was born, her second child)
right F and Dad are back. I hope to post more more often from here one
happy birthday noo!

JenJam · 14/10/2006 10:43

Just reread this and now feeling paranoid that it sounds like F is not being looked after properly. cut on head was small in size but big to me because it is his first. and the no drill kitchen door locks i bought do not work.
just wanted to put that straight!

Diege · 14/10/2006 14:09

Sorry sorry I've not posted for days!!! Have had a hectic working week, and this is first chance literally to read through and post! Good to hear from you JENJAM; it sounds like Finn is being looked after PERFECTLY, and is developing into a normal, much-loved little boy
NOVA: have just posted Noo's card, but of course this means it will be late...at least you know there's one more on the day! RODEO: dds have been talking abiut Bella and Joe all week - I must get them back into the letter writing!! Must also post the group piccy .
Hope you are feeling better BEKS, and also that you can make our next north-ish meet-up?
Oh and changing bags??? Where to start.... I have to say I do like the Oilily ones, but not everyone's cup if tea. There are some good ones in the Blooming marvellous catalogue, and remember having good experineces with Caboodle ones too, which look stylish, are reasonably priced, and practical too. Had a great black diagonal over the shoulder one will velcro fastening that was brilliant. Ahh, fond memories..
Right, off to buy dd2 a new coat (nursery have somehow 'lost' her's...oh, well, gives me an excuse to add a few bits to my boden order, tee hee!!

Londoner · 14/10/2006 18:07

Hi everyone, Hi Tex! Hi JenJam!

!!!!!!!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NATALIE (TOMORROW)!!!!!! Hope it's a great day!
