CantSleepWontSleep · 09/08/2006 07:38

Right ladies - the race is on to see which of our DCs can self feed a sausage roll first!

Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

Been asking for one from 600

No title inspiration.

Anyone elses keep rolling away when you turn to get the clean nappy????

Ooooh naapy post on Saturday - now fully equipped advisor... just need someone to sell to!!!!!!!!!! If you're planning on shopping for some from the website I'm part of, can I give you my name to quote please????

damewashalot · 04/09/2006 08:37

Argh, am trying to get dr appt, they have got a new phone thing that keeps telling me they know I'm here, I'm 11th now really wouldn't bother if didn't feel so crappy. Strange dizzy head and general yuk feeling

damewashalot · 04/09/2006 08:39

Yes lots of trying to escape whenm doing nappy
7th now!

damewashalot · 04/09/2006 08:44

Well i got through in the end, 4-10 going to wobble around the house till then.

Frizbe · 04/09/2006 08:49

Dame {{{{Hugs}}}} Hoping you feel lots better soon hon and that damn tel gets you down the q now!

Flame, mine tries to escape nappies too think I may have to start the old pinning arms down with feet whilst I change her, until she learns to stay still for a few mins (they never tell you about having to be a contortionist with kids either!)
Re dd by reasoning did you do the old if you yank your brother he will break talk? that as a reminder generally works with dd1 here, and if she is ignoring me and still playing up, I usually go naughty step, which may be harsh, but its saved any major incidents so far...in fact I/we've gone as far to say, if dd2 has to go hosp dh and I go with her and dd1's off to the rellies, that has so far stopped her failing that there's always the travel cot for the little one or even the larger one and cackle.....

Jas hurrah the hols are almost over, I take ss back tomorrow night, as he's back on Wed

CSWS congrats on your commando hey maybe we could stick that in a thread title, how about
'commando - do you have one?'

mustrunmore · 04/09/2006 08:58

Well, I'll tell you what stage ds2 is at. Do you remember those aliens in Dr Who that moved so fast you couldn't see, and they just seemed to disappear then reappear somewhere else?

Just had floods of tears at the nursery drop off again. He was doing ok... walked all the way there etc... until he found out he was the first child there, ie his new girlfriend wasnt there yet (he's seen her at the park twice, so thinks they are exclusive friends now...) And I broke the news that he's going twice a week now, but I dont think it really sunk in.

"... t t t t t t touch me, i wanna feel dirty..." This Cd has been on for days now!

Flamesparrow · 04/09/2006 09:05

I gotta get me a new cd - mine's a best of one, and it doesn't have all the songs

Frizbe - Yup, we've done "you will break him" (and its more extreme friend - "his arm will fall off" ), the reply "and she will cry and you will be cross and she will be broken?" "Yes Bronwyn, he will cry, I will be cross, and he will be broken"... "Oh. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???????"

I think its gonna have to be a NO, followed by stairs the next time. Travel cot lives at Psycho's house to sleep him in during the day when I am round there... although with the way our school schedules have gone I don't know how much we'll get to play this term B has school in the mornings, and her youngest is going in the afternoons, and then full time in Jan...

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/09/2006 09:05

Ooo ooo - can we call it 'Are you going commando?'

OP posts:
Frizbe · 04/09/2006 09:08

fab idea CSWS, your far more on form than I this am

Flame what to do with them eh? step it is me thinks, sure a few times will drill it into her. at psycos kids off to school, hope you still get to play a bit?

mustrunmore · 04/09/2006 09:08

Oh yes, meant to do empathy for the sibling thing. ds1 not too bad now, but did catch him the other day trying to lift up the activity station with ds2 in it, chanting 'tip the baby, tip the baby...' He also does alot of poking and pulling. And the new one is trying to undress him to do his nappy!

ds2 naps in the buggy in the kitchen. I figured that as we are often out and about with ds1, there's no point in getting him to nap in the cot.he's getting the concept of cot-for-nights.

mustrunmore · 04/09/2006 09:12

Flame... I've got two versions!!! One is a copy, but if dh can copy copies (if you see what I mean) I'll get him to do both for you next time he's at work on a weekend.Think that is the middle of the month. He doesn't have alot to do at the weekends, and no bosses in to keep him in line!!

Flamesparrow · 04/09/2006 09:16

Been trying to get the reply bit to load up for aggggges to add the same title CSWS!!!!!

DD doesn't touch the nappy - has been warned that he will pee in her face

CD copy sounds great!!!! Forgot to give nursery sympathy... intrigued to see how we go tomorrow with the first day back.

damewashalot · 04/09/2006 09:26

I spend my life saying he's not a toy, he a little person/you will break him think ds3 is going to be tough
DS2 insists on calling everyone he/him, can't get she/her into his head
He's very excited and counting down sleep till big school, 7now

Read thread now can't remember much but sending hugs to frizbe re uncle/cousin, hope things improve.

Chloe55 · 04/09/2006 09:27

Morning girls,

I'll try and remember all I have read now!

LM - Hope Lewis is starting to feel better and that it isn't a viral infection.

Frizbe - Congrats to your cousin but sorry for the complications. I'm glad her dad is stable though - has he seen the baby yet?

Congrats on the pooey potty DM.

Like you LM, I had a bit of a mum issue the other night. We went out for my cousin's 21st bday, mum babysat but we went back to her house to sleep coz I am still reluctant to leave ds overnight (not that I don't trust mum just don't want to put on her iyswim). Anyway, got home about 2.30am and mum was up with ds who was giggling away - I said how long has been up and she said about an hour!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr - why is it if he wakes up with me then the dummy goes back in and he goes back off to sleep, yet mum feels obliged to take him out of his cot and fully wake him up?! You'd think after having 2 kids of her own she would know better! Couldn't say a nything though as she had offered to babysit.

Can't remember who asked but ds started crawling properly on all floors but as resorted to commando crawling everywhere now. I think he has worked out that he can get around much quicker and easier this way. I doubt he will do the proper crawling anymore. It seems once he masters something he isn't bothered to do it anymore

dewmeadow · 04/09/2006 09:27

loving the RH references girls - wil HAVE to get a CD of it!

Still on a high from the poo yesterday (how sad am I?)

DS regularly wakes at 2 and 5 for feedsm (goes down about 8 though). Do you think he's going to do that for the rest of my life?

Start back to piano teaching this week - great, though not sure how it'll work about baths and bedtimes. It'll just have to!!

Off to the toyshop for a "poo" present. Also have to buy a case of Guinness for a sick cow!!

..you both look like you're pretty groovy..

dewmeadow · 04/09/2006 09:28

all crawling/commando babies - amazing!!

Flamesparrow · 04/09/2006 09:30

Its gotta be said.... guinness for a sick cow???

Chloe55 · 04/09/2006 09:35

Have you tried dropping one of those feeds dm? I have no idea about the average baby but ds hasn't had a night feed for months now and goes down at 7pm, I stopped giving the 3am and just kept putting his dummy back in and after a couple of nights he slept through peacefully. Mum said with me and my db she used to give us boiled water at night feeds (once she was sure we didn't really need them) and we soon realised that water wasn't worth waking up for apparantly.

Flamesparrow · 04/09/2006 09:42

I'm planning on eeking out the night feeds gradually. Once I have got him settled with waking between the 3 hours, I want to start gradually going 4 hours, 5 etc before offering feed... Tis hard when you know that it'll send em to sleep though .

Jasnem · 04/09/2006 09:48

You've all been chatting while I've been FLY ing in the kitchen! Too nuch to remember. Def like the new title.
Boy wakes once a night, and up at 6 for bf (the dds stopped waking when I stopped bf)
Bigger siblings are no better than the littlies. DD1 picks him up at any opportunity. So far she stays ourt of the kitchen and away from the stairs, but still m,auls him (in a loving way( daily.

I have sciatica (again)

Jasnem · 04/09/2006 09:51

Anaemic cow, perhaps???

I'm still bf to sleep as well. No way am I trying to do anything orther than feed back to sleep at 2 am. I am planning on trying to stay awake and put him back in cot to avoid reattachment while I sleep though!

mustrunmore · 04/09/2006 10:06

Well, I'm just pleased that ds2 seems to be back to one night feed not two! And I am stopping before he falls asleep (except when I fall asleep ), so trying to carry on the self settling in the night too.
