CantSleepWontSleep · 09/08/2006 07:38

Right ladies - the race is on to see which of our DCs can self feed a sausage roll first!

Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

Oh, yeah, Whitby Similar!!

PhoenixGirl · 03/09/2006 10:13

Morning,

Lewis had a terrible night's sleep last night. He was ok till about midnight (he woke up once about 9pm tho) Then it was 2-3 times about every hour or so

He likes to lay on his side now and if he turns back over onto his back he somehow ends up laying width ways in his cot so wakes up crying with that sometimes cos he can't move.

But last night he sounded like his nose was a bit blocked and when he went onto his side he coughed and choked a bit and for some reason he couldn't keep his dummy in either so kept half waking up. I managed not to pick him up at all though and he did keep settling for a bit. But everytime i put him back lengthways in his cot he'd move around again til he was widthways again then settle off to sleep.

He's go a bit of a runny nose today so i think he's getting his first cold he feels a bit warm but thermometer wotsit says his temps normal but we've given him a bit of calpol cos his ceeks r red so could be his teeth as well.

He's asleep now though bless him.

I got my lay in yesterday btw till 12.30pm

PhoenixGirl · 03/09/2006 10:15

Oh and sorry to hear about your cousins baby frizbe, hope the hospital can find the problem.

Flamesparrow · 03/09/2006 13:25

I've tried to catch up, but its not gone well (gonna look at the nappy link in a min). Gotta go out in a min, so will be back on this evening to do a proper post!!!

mustrunmore · 03/09/2006 16:35

i'm alone, totally alone... and its heaven!!! Dh has actually gone off to our crappy little park with ds1 on bike and ds2 in the papoose!!! Actually, they've been gone ages; am starting to get concerned...
But I'vr managed to get a 20 min jog in, and do the dishes, and have a top cd on...
... there's a light, over at the Frankenstein place...

mustrunmore · 03/09/2006 16:37

Oh, and have a quick question for you cc experts...
been at it a week or so. Still crying for ages. But last night, there was 20 mins of giggling and wriggling round to upside down in the cot, then 10 mins of screaming, then sleep from 7.30 till 3am. Is this a good sign? The wriggly bit I mean? I want to know if its normal, or if I've created another odd child

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/09/2006 18:23

You've created an odd child!
No really, it might just be that he fancied a bit of play before his sleep, and then he cried because you weren't there at sleep time. But the 10 mins thing is good considering where you were a week ago.

at your time alone.

We had visitor for lunch (the guy who lost the triplets and was my reserve birth partner for those who remember), so spent the afternoon stuffing our faces and sitting around being entertained by DD whilst nattering.

DD definitely getting more mobile here. Not exactly crawling, but very nearly - enough that she can very slowly get around, but mostly she just gets to the nearest magazine or catalogue and then entertains herself by tearing pages out of it . She's working her way through DH's Maplin catalogue as I type.

Hope poorly babies are getting better.

I've just been talking to one of my neighbours who has a dd 2 week older than Lewis and she had to take her to a & e last week cos she was ill and when i said about how Lewis was last night she said "that's just how dd started" They just told neighbour it was a viral infection and its going round. Fingers x'ed Lewis isn't the same.

Frizbe · 03/09/2006 19:08

Fingers X'd Louis isn't the same Phoenix, and at your lie in until 12.30

CSWS great re the nearly crawling, dd2 has been lifting herself onto her knees this afternoon and collapsing a lot she managed to back herself into the sky box doing this as well, and started changing the channels with her fee and dd1 and ss couldn't work out what was going on with the tv, lol....

MRM, that's great as he's playing before getting himself off to sleep, hurrah!

Popped into cousin today, and dropped off the info I've found, she's better in herself, but still not sure about baby.....he may have to have a shunt put in to drain the fluid.....she's starting to think it may have been due to birth mismanagement....41 hrs total labour....that ended in failed forceps followed by c-section..... on the good side uncle sounds like he's on the mend too, phew.

mustrunmore · 03/09/2006 19:42

Ah, still got fingers crossed for the little one Frzbe

Well, dh put ds2 to bed tonight; 15 min cry, asleep, woke up 5 mins later, 5 min cry. But he did stroke him to sleep. And on the really bad side, tried to give him EBM in a bottle tonight, but he screamed the place down. I'm starting to think I will have to smuggle him into the xmas meetup!

dewmeadow · 03/09/2006 20:40

greetings all!! Drum roll please...........

DD DID A POO IN HER POTTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PhoenixGirl · 03/09/2006 21:01

Oh let the fun begin, he's crying already ad he's only been in bed just over an hour. Bless him, i feel helpless.

dewmeadow · 03/09/2006 21:07

poor you pg and baba thats what DS was like last week. He's still got a baddish cough but it's not keeping him awake anymore. ONe day I was just throwing the calpol and nurofen into him as if there was no tomorrow, but his cold sounded AWFUL, and I felt so sorry for him.

Sleep deprived from above and then DH and me went out for dinner at friends last night and had a large amount to drink. THye only live about 1.5 - 2 miles away so we decided to walk home in teh pitch black and pouring rain. I Was so afraid of getting knocked down that everytime I saw a light coming I pulled DH (legless!!) into the grass and he fell into teh ditch at one stage. It was SOOO funny my pelvic floor was under severe strain!!!! Absolutely wrecked today, but lots of fun

Jasnem · 03/09/2006 21:08

for poorly baby Phoenix. I hope he (and you )get a better night tonight.

Frizbe - your poor coisin really has had a bad time, hasn't she. I just hope her ds comes out the other end of this ok.

Round of applause for dewmeadows dd

mrm - I'm not entirely sure how the logistics of the Christmas meet up are going to work for me, either. Boy is starving in the evenings at the moment, he has had hourly feeds from 6 to 8 and is now asleep. (He had a massive veg meal at 4.30, too) I'm hoping I can leave my friend to rock him to sleep in the buggy.

dewmeadow · 03/09/2006 21:12

Friz - forgot to say Sending positive vibes across the sea to you and your family

Thanks Jaz - I actually had tears in my eyes - over a poo!!! But after the last shambolic failure 4 months ago, I thought it owuld never happen. Promised a trip to teh toy shop tomorrow.

dewmeadow · 03/09/2006 21:12

mrm - I bought teh buggy and she's posting tomorrow.

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/09/2006 21:15

I really want to come to the Christmas do too, but haven't put my name down yet as still can't see how I'll manage it. At least it's the sort of thing that I can add my name to late on without it messing up the arrangements.

Well done to dm's DD.

Get well soon Lewis!

A poo in the potty is the best thing a child can do for its parent I'm hpoing that when the time comes, ds1 will train ds2 and I wont need to lift a finger

hope the buggy is goood...

PhoenixGirl · 03/09/2006 21:22

Well i gave in and picked him up for a bit of a cuddle, put him back down, turned his lullaby thingy on and fingers x'ed he sounds asleep again now.

Well done for the poo on the potty dew hope she does more for you Sounds like u had a good night out last night

Hello to everyone else xx

Frizbe · 04/09/2006 07:29

Hurrah for the poo in the potty Dew it is the best thing in the world when they get that
Phoenix, hope you got a good nights sleep after all that hon?
Jas, your right she has, really makes me appreciate what quick and normal births I've had with my two
No hope of making an Xmas meet here not even the northern one......wonder if the local girls will try and organise a mini one?
Horrid night here, dd2 usual dream feed at 10:30, then she woke at 12 and scoffed a boob at 4 and scoffed another one, dh got up at 5am loudly.....dd2 at 5.30 another one and then dd1 woke screaming at 6 with her cut lip, which she did yesterday running away from dh....(mick jagger lip on bottom with massive cut ) and then ss got out of bed too......oh oh oh oh oh..........yawn.....must try and keep my temper today.........even tho I feel like screatching at everyone

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/09/2006 07:46

Definite commando crawling here. Chloe - is Oscar doing commando or full on crawling? Anyone know averages of how long it takes to go from one to the other? I sense a lot of house proofing going on as soon as we get back from hols!

OP posts:
Jasnem · 04/09/2006 07:47

Oh dear Frizbe, you poor boobs will suffer if they think you're back to 2 hourly feeding!
I fell asleep on the sofa at 6 pm yesterday
Last day of the school holidays today
I really need to get their stuff together though.

Does anyone else feel the need for a new thread yet?

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/09/2006 07:48

Oh, and we start gymbabes classes today - perfect timing for her to be all mobile!
Just have to work out what to do about her nap and lunch, both of which would normally be going on at the same time as the class!

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 04/09/2006 07:50

Flame always wants a new thread . Can't believe we've posted 900 messages in less than a month!

Ideas for thread title anyone? Perhaps something about crawling as a few of them seem to be getting mobile?

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 04/09/2006 08:18

Hello everyone.

Friz - huge hugs for all your cr*p

DM - YAY for poo!!! It took a brother to fix DD, so I don't recommend that method

PG - How did the night go?

Errrr.... forgotten most else - ooh MRM - we're gonna get on fine ......... I see you shiver with antici....pation!

Night from hell on Friday night - DS woke every two hours, which wasn't fun, but kinda used to it... DD on the other hand woke at midnight, was sick a teeny bit, refused to go back to sleep, and we spent most of the night taking turns to be downstairs with her (we were both too tired to argue). Saturday was spent in a daze Saturday night I decided enough was enough - DS NEEDS to learn to settle himself, so we're doing a sort of gentle CC/babywhisperer cross thing. Only ever leaving him for 5 mins, then making sure he is completely calm before leaving again etc. I decided he was only being fed every 3 hours at the earliest, and that he would have to settle himself in between times... so he didn't cause me a single problem, slept lovely, only waking every three hours anyway!!! Last night less successful - Friday night caught up on me I went to bed with all good intentions, and then woke up at 3am and realised he was still in bed with me after the 1.30 feed, and he had reattached! Tryin again tonight .

Crawling - he is trying so hard, and can get round the room bloody fast... just backwards or sideways!!! He does it up properly on hands and knees, no commando. Some great miniclips - but all stark naked so probably best not to post online .

Anyone with older ones got any advice...? DD loves moving baby, but seems to have decided that he is now playable with - including yanking him up to sitting etc when my back is turned. No amount of NO, and HE IS NOT A TOY seem to be helping. I have tried reasoning with her (which normally works better than anything else), and she just doesn't seem to be getting it. I'm reluctant to put her on the stairs for it because it seems wrong to punish her for playing with her brother. Any ideas???

FLYing in the kitchen today
