CantSleepWontSleep · 09/08/2006 07:38

Right ladies - the race is on to see which of our DCs can self feed a sausage roll first!

Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

Swop your bluebottles for my ants!

Actually, I only have 2 buggies now {she says in a defensive tone of voice}. Didnt take it as I'd only have ended up leaving it all over the place... castles aren't very accessible Plus ds2 gets to see more in the papoose.

mustrunmore · 09/08/2006 20:36

And have you ever tried running after a toddler in crowds whilst pushing a buggy?!

mustrunmore · 09/08/2006 20:38

And, if you think entertaining a 6 month old is hard, please feel free to borrow my 2.8yr old for the day

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/08/2006 21:07

Thanks for bringing a smile to my face, however briefly!

Actually sat here in tears now, having listened to DD scream or cry on and off (full on for over half an hour) for an hour now. She keeps sounding like she's asleep (ie no sound!) and then there'll be another whimper.

DH still not home. I've eaten without him. I now want to go to bed and not get up for 3 days, but I know that DH will disturb me when he comes in, disturb me again when he gets up at 4am, plus however much Pippa decides to wake me up to scream at me in the night, so it's not going to be a good night and I can't see me ever being able to relax again.

Controlled crying was meant to be our last resort as at least it's supposed to work, but I don't understand why it worked so well for a few days and now it's all gone horribly wrong.

There just doesn't seem to be anyone or anything that can help me.

We'd had such a good day too, with DD laughing lots (my favourite sound in the whole world).

csws. Things will improve. You could always see it as dd having her bad times now, so when she's a teenager she'll be an angel And you'll be able to sit back and gloat soon; i have a feeling that you'll get all sorted just as I decide to stop feeding ds2 to sleep, and then it'll be hell here.

Jasnem · 09/08/2006 21:21

csws. I don't know about cc, but I suspect like most things it's something you'll have to stick at. I hope its just one bad evening, and she settles for you soon.

mrm - I'll swap your 2.8 yr old for a moody 7 year old (and throw in a stroppy 5 yr old for free).
I love the summer holidays.
Please tell me we're meeting up on Friday. I will have the car, so we can do Walthamstow if you want, or relocate to somewhere easier for you and amiable.

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/08/2006 21:24

Can you meet somewhere not too horrendous for me? Thinking of binning my morning plan (as DD naps better in the morning, and I don't want to ruin that) and coming out to play in the pm instead.

Off to get ready for bed now I think, but will be around tomorrow as nothing much planned.

Hi Jas. I'm happy with Walthamstow if Amiable is. But then I'm happy with anything that mildly entertains ds1 these days. The only problem I can forsee is if Pizza Hut has shut down or something! We could go back to the original plan of Arts Depot if she'd prefer, and if its ok for you to get to. (If you're not sure on location, ita about 10 mins drive from my house at the most.)
Would love to swop children, but I dont really like girls Too much like me!

mustrunmore · 09/08/2006 21:28

Ooo, yes, come and join us csws! I'll be out tomorrow for most of the day, but will check in before I go and when I've put the boys to bed, so will see what decision has been made! csws; do you still have my mobile number? Might be easier to text me if I dont show up on here!!!

Chloe55 · 09/08/2006 21:32

Oh cwsw you sound like you are having such a miserable evening. I know it doesn't compare but my dh walked in at 7.15pm (an hour later than he should have been), then sodded off to his mates to watch footie - it would have been nice if he could have told me of his plans so I didn't make his tea! So, after cleaning all day and looking after a lo I then did the whole bath bottle bed routine too, which, I might add I seem to do every night now! Amazing how the novelty wears off, isn't it?

I did give ds calpol and he as a little red patch on his head which could possibly have been from the fall, I still haven't admitted what I did to anyone other than you guys. He is sleeping now.

Hope your dh gets home soon csws.

Jasnem · 09/08/2006 21:32

csws -I've no real idea where you live, I also couldn't find mrm as I just sat in the car and was driven there. Any where with some kind of parking available is good for me, and I'll be around tomorrow too.
Do you have any ideas?

mustrunmore · 09/08/2006 21:41

Chloe, do you actually do cleaning? I'm such a bad person.
But I do have 95% of bedtimes alone with the pair of them, so i think that justifies being a slob!

Jas... we can just stick to Walthamstow if its easy for you! It involves no brainpower for me to just jump on the number 34!

lewsmummy · 09/08/2006 21:43

Oooooooohhh chloe just noticed your name i started a new meet thread if u interested

Jasnem · 09/08/2006 21:46

mrm she does her nans cleaning (and probably her own too)
I just live in a tip, but do all the bedtimes (baths, meals, and everything else child related) on my own.

Chloe55 · 09/08/2006 21:51

Yes unfortunately we are desperate for the extra cash and nanna pays well I think I have become a bit of a cleaning obsessive though, I have recently noticed that I can not settle on an evening unless I have hoovered everywhere which includes the stairs and cleaned the glass tables! This is so unlike the Chloe I knew a year ago, has motherhood done this to me?!

Gonna check out the meet thread now lm

mustrunmore · 09/08/2006 21:52

Oh yeah, I remember her mentioning that the other day now I come to think!

Living in a tip isnt so bad, is it? We clean only when we are expecting a visit from a parent or a mumsnetter

And you are a far better mum than me; sometimes ds1 exasperates me so much I just hand him over when dh gets in (assuming he's been on an early shift, so home by 6pm). And he sees that as preferable to having to be with a baby who hates him!! Just wish he did more early shifts, less lates, and far far less doubles!

Jasnem · 09/08/2006 21:55

I think motherhood does induce cleaning obsessions in some (not me unfortunately)

We should have started a meetup thread like the sensible Northern girls instead of taking over this one.
Oh, well, its hardly worth it now. Walthamstow Pizza Hut, Friday lunchtime/pm/tba....

mustrunmore · 09/08/2006 21:55

Chloe: yes, you are turning into a real true to life Mum! Just dont start runnning your fingers along the tops of the doors looking for dust like my Mum does
The only thing I will admit to is needing all the dishes done before bed. But thats so I can refill the water filter under the tap during the night: I'm still guzzling fluids.

mustrunmore · 09/08/2006 21:56

I'd like to see a pic of your house Jas, in the vain hope it'll make me feel good about my own

Jasnem · 09/08/2006 21:58

Not a better mum, just got a useless dp
He too will take the dds over a crying baby any day, but I have noticed he spends more time playing with Boy than he did the girls at this age. He obviously hid his desire for a son very well.
It so lovely when he talks to him (always calls him son)

Jasnem · 09/08/2006 21:59

I'd love to show you one, but my (useless) dp left my camera on the plane coming back from our holidays

mustrunmore · 09/08/2006 22:00

Ah. Dh calls ds2 "that one" or "here, hold this one" But the other day, he said to our friend that he feels the need to kiss ds2's head more than he did with ds1!

mustrunmore · 09/08/2006 22:02

So I'm not the only person in the worlds who doesn't own a camera phone??!!

Jasnem · 09/08/2006 22:03

I do, but I don't know how to put the pictures from the camera to the computer.

Jasnem · 09/08/2006 22:05

I have pictures of newborn Boy on it that I can't do anything with. They are the only ones of him at minutes old, as I took my camera but no batteries to the hospital for the birth.
