CantSleepWontSleep · 09/08/2006 07:38

Right ladies - the race is on to see which of our DCs can self feed a sausage roll first!

Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

Sorry for arrrgghhhig and running - the day just kept going from bad to worse, topped off by Asda refusing to serve me alcohol due to lack of id

DH's birthday.. he announced last night that he has today off Its always good to be told these things!!

DD crawled into our bed at 6.30, but has only just woken up.

mustrunmore · 31/08/2006 09:50

pmsl flame! Wish I had that problem (the id thing I mean).

Dewmeadow.I've had a quick look on ebay. Cant do links, but quickly...

Chicco Explorer £20, i will collect and post to oyu, so should stay within your budget. Number is 220022460021.
Mclaren Volo £48 inc delivery 110027048929
I also wrote down this one, cant remember what it was but its on £10 plus £10 delivery with 9 days to go. 250024171965.

And the one I have is a century stroller; there's some on there reconditioned for £10 postage, and some start at 99p with no bids.

Have to go out now, but hope that helps a bit.

Flamesparrow · 31/08/2006 09:52

I wouldn't have minded had I been looking decent, but I looked like hell, and in need of a drink - the woman was clearly taking the p*ss!

Flamesparrow · 31/08/2006 09:52

Oh, and for Poole

damewashalot · 31/08/2006 09:58

Isn't it tesco that won't sell it to you if you look under 21 and have no ID? so it's not like she thought you were a teenager

Jasnem · 31/08/2006 11:58

£74 for 2 pairs of shoes, for my thoughtless kids withg too wide feet!

Dew, juniors is the junior school (yr 3/ age 7)
Love the RHS dancing.

SoupDragon · 31/08/2006 13:51

I only spent £69 on 2 pairs of shoes. Might take one pair back as I discovered that they're the same size as DS1s from last term.

Made a rare trip to the HV yesterday and BabyDragon is a whopping 20lb 8oz. And that's with only a half ar$ed attempt at weaning because I simply can't be bothered.

ellenrose · 31/08/2006 14:10

Chloe re the continence. It does get better and surprisingly quickly if you stick to the exercises

for the tooth MRM.

Well done CSWS for getting the shoes you were after but Jas for the cost of your lo's.

Flame - how I wish I was still youthful looking enough to be asked for ID but the thought of being refused alcohol when you need it is not much fun

Jasnem · 31/08/2006 14:18

please keep mentioning the pelvic floor exercises...I do them every time I read about it.

I went to startrite (Clarkes are cheaper) which is why they cost so much. As usual no one had a choice but they are both happy and the shoes are comfortable straight away, so I'm happy. Also the shop does a loyalty scheme where I get 1 point per pound spent, and at 200, I get £20 off. That's only 6 pairs of shoes.

I wish I could reuse their old ones (same size)but they are so worn that I really can't

PhoenixGirl · 31/08/2006 14:51

Weren't the shoe shops packed jas they were in meadowhall so we didn't bother even looking.

Jasnem · 31/08/2006 14:55

We went as soon as it opened this am .
Surprisingly quiet, but low on stock already (luckily the dds don't have to have black at their school or we'd be stuffed!)

Chloe55 · 31/08/2006 16:02

Yes keep mentioning the pelvic floor as it reminds me to do them - I did see the thread the other week and everytime I checked last hour threads it reminded me to do them!

dewmeadow · 31/08/2006 18:23

mrm - thanks, missed the quick one I think - didntg make it back to computer. curiously spending time playing with babies!!!

saw this and thought of you.......

MAbel Murple's house was purple
So was Mable's hair
Mabel Murple's cat was purple
Purple everywhere.

Mabel Murple's bike was purple
So were Mabel's ears
And when Mabel Murple cried
She cried terrible purple tears.

Evening all. Haven't had chance to post today. DD's been a bit moany this afternoon due to sore teeth (not that it looks like she's ever going to get any actual teeth!) so has been quite demanding! Ah well, she's in bed now. Let's hope I don't have to get up to her every 3 hours again tonight. Since her 4 days in a row of sleeping through she hasn't managed it even once.

Glad you had a good b'day dinner dwa.

at flame being refused alcohol, and happy birthday to your dh!

mrm - I used to love Heidi - can still hum the theme tune now. Heidi was one of my top girls name choices, but dh wouldn't allow.

at shoe prices - they cost as much as (prob more than) I spend on my own shoes.

And for those who need reminding - pelvic floors .

OP posts:
dewmeadow · 31/08/2006 21:07

forgot about Flames story - I would LOVE to be asked for ID - I think I would hug the person with limited vision

where are all the purple gals?

Jasnem · 31/08/2006 21:07

Love the poem Dew m

csws - start saving now! I almost never spend that much on shoes for myself.

dewmeadow · 31/08/2006 21:11

I know, Jas - I have been sacrificing my need for lovely shoes for ages now - I would like to have a lovely face and lovely feet and then in between can be overshadowed by the greatness of the extremeties.

dewmeadow · 31/08/2006 21:11

..put your hands on your hips

Amiable · 31/08/2006 22:08

Dame - happy birthday for yesterday!

Flame - at you looking young enough to get questioned over alcohol - my days of that are looong, looong gone!!

Dew - I love the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Mind you, my other fave films include Prisciiila, Queen of the Desert, and La Cage aux Folles. All involve men dressed up as women - must be some deep-rooted pyschological thing going on there!

CSWS - LOVE the shoes! sorry if I missed it, but where are they from?

I was out last night with a friend of mine who was back in London for a few days having moved back to Sweden about 18 months ago,and a couple of other friends. We had a great evening, but were all yawning into our wine glasses by 10pm. At least I have the excuse of a baby, the others were just wimps!

I keep feeling that I'm not getting this weaning thing right. DD is still mainly on pureed veg - I was somewhat overzealous with the amount I froze. What sort of things can I add to "lump" them up a bit? She's on slices of cardboard, oops, sorry, ricecakes and bits of banana too, so she does get a bit of chewing practise. I've also bought some SMA Progress follow on milk, as it is cheaper than the SMA Gold, so will see how that goes - if she gets too bunged up I will go back to the Gold.

3k · 31/08/2006 23:43

Hi Ladies,

LOL at Pelvic floors, I have been doing them too reading this thread!!! Might try the star jumps tomorrow and see how I go

DS is in the top 20 of our local Top Tots competition I was so excited to open up our local paper and see him grinning out at me. There was 70 kids at the start so so far so good.

I accidentally punched DS in the head/nose yesterday trying to do up his car seat. The strap at the bottom I was holding tight and as I clicked it in my hand slipped and hit DS somewhere on the face, he cried and I felt really bad. Think it was more shock than anything as he only cried for a short time but still feeling bad now Then I got in and tried to put his door swing over the kitchen door and the pelmet come down and banged me on the head and arm, have an impressive bruise today I can tell you. That's my punishment for hurting DS even though it wasnt intentional!

mustrunmore · 01/09/2006 08:01

Hi all.
Amiable... if you're still coming this morning, bear in mind its a complete disaster here! ds1 was up till 10pm last night, ds2 woke about 6 times between 7pm and 5am, our lodger left all his stuff everywhere, and I really cant be bothered to get the hoover out!

Also found out that dh has put a padlock on our side gate. Lodger left the house yesterday morning, closed the back door behind himself (to which only dh has a key as its a very odd lock...), then found the pad;ock. Key in the kitchen. had to jump over the 6ft gate at 6am!!!

PhoenixGirl · 01/09/2006 08:40

With us been out most of yesterday i messed ds' feed times up a bit and he ended up having no tea then only took 3oz of milk before bed so i was execting to be up all night. But he slept from 8pm - 6.10am gave him his dummy back and he went back to sleep til 8am yay.

Flame - there was a shop in Meadowhall yesterday called The Little Dude Shop (isn't that what u call Emrys?) They don't have a website tho.

Today we're off to Costco and a big Mothercare in Leeds. After we've done weekly shop at Asda hate it, hate it, hate it. And tonight we off out for a meal to chinese. Lewis is staying at me mums.

Flamesparrow · 01/09/2006 09:01

@ Little Dude shop!

I was going to take him to HV yesterday... and forgot! Oh well. She'll probably just make me feel like sht cos he is still diddy. He is* growing - just in his own sweet time!!!!

Lay him on the floor with his cousin yesterday, and they were squeaking at eachother and trying to shuffle closer

You should SEE my lounge!!! FLYlady RULES!

Be back in a bit - I really should be changing a nappy.

Oooh - also doing half arsed weaning, and not braving shoe shops until schools are back . DD is just gonna have to have squished feet for a couple of weeks .
