CantSleepWontSleep · 09/08/2006 07:38

Right ladies - the race is on to see which of our DCs can self feed a sausage roll first!

Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

No eye cleaning her but he does get a bath everyday coz he enjoys it more than anything and we have the time so we may aswell. Funny you should say about the ear thing though Flame coz my dh is crap at washing behind ds's ears too and they are always crusty after he does a couple of days of baths!

dewmeadow · 01/09/2006 15:16

eye wiping???

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/09/2006 15:21

Ok - get the picture - I can stop now .

No eyewiping here either!!!

DS is teething again, third tooth about to appear on top gum, he is a bit grumpy but has been down for afternoon nap for about an hour and a half so hopefully he will be in a better mood after.

Forgot to say CSWS, I loved the shoes!!! I'm not going to get Ben any yet though until he is walking but look forward to buying some then. I got DS some socks in Primark yesterday for £1 for 3 pairs and they are fab. The more expensive ones I got from Mothercare keep falling off so it was nice to get some that were cheap and stay on!

Frizbe · 01/09/2006 18:07

Sorry about this girls, but I'm going to rant as I'm having a bad day here....

  1. myuncle
  2. dd1 decided to pee all over me this afternoon for no reason (other than sibling jealousy? as I'd just changed dd2's nappy.
  3. She's just managed to re decorate herself with chocolate cake, that all she had to do was pick up out the bowl and friggin eat, not spread all over herself and the floor.......
  4. Dh is pissed off at me because he agreed I could go out last night and I spent a whole tenner that he gave me to spend WTF? and Sorry for being self indulgent....
mustrunmore · 01/09/2006 18:36

Frizbe. If it helps, ds1 did a runner out of the local shop today, so I told him we couldn't go to the park anymore, and he had a tantrum for an hour solid. All he's eaten all day is 2 fruit bars and 3 biscuits. He tipped about 5 litres of water over the edge of the bath tonight. ds2 weed all over the only jeans that fit me.Dh left the house at 6am for work, wont be home till 9pm, and i fell asleep in front of cbeebies this afernoon while ds2 was asleep in the buggy but ds1 was in mid conversation with me And i've caved in and had biscuits and pepsi today.
I'm not belittling yor day; just thought it might cheer you up to know that mine was totally crap as soon as Amiable left at lunchtime! good job she came round, as at least ds1 has been happy about something today! He hasn't shut up about her dd, whom he thinks is called Ethan

Frizbe · 01/09/2006 18:43

thanks for that! nice to know I'm not the only one!! trying to get thru to hospital now to find out if my cousin has given birth yet.....seeing as she's miles from her usual home, I think for once I may be able to help out with lots of baby stuff, that she wasn't expecting to need just yet.....
No eye wiping here either
Flame, It's yoga for kids aged 2.5-7, kinda activity type class apparently, although I've not seen one in action yet, have spoken to a few mothers who've rated it?!

mustrunmore · 01/09/2006 20:12

I cant imagine ds1 having enough self control to do yoga!

Well, down to 25 mins of crying till ds2 went to sleep tonight. With his elephants ear in his mouth.

dewmeadow · 01/09/2006 20:35

DS sleeps every night with his cow's leg stuffed in his mouth. He sucks and sucks it and it gets SOOO smelly so quickly. DH woke ina panic last week thinking DS was choking on his cow!

Glad you and Friz had a good day, mrm. Still havent decided about a buggy. Theres too much choice and what really is the difference between a buggy at 10 quid and one at 100?

More purple thoughts....

anytime the word purple is mentioned, my mature DH says "purple helmet"!

mustrunmore · 01/09/2006 20:41

there's not alot of diff TBH!

mustrunmore · 01/09/2006 20:42

But make sure you get swivel wheels.

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/09/2006 21:07

Evening all. Sounds like you had great days mrm and Friz - hope your evenings have been better.

Well we had a lovely lunch with Mnetters today, and for once DD was on good behaviour. Last time I went out with them she was hysterical and we had to duck out early, but none of that today. She had fun scrunching up all the carrots I gave her to distract her whilst I ate, and then throwing them on the floor all around her!

Now, on to very serious matters, why did no one tell me that deal or no deal was back on? I've missed a whole week of it already .

And for my final comment of the night, pelvic floors ladies please!

I can't believe you've been boiling water etc and washing dds eyes for the past 6 months. I did Boy when he was tiny as he had sticky eyes, but don't remember doing the dds past a week old.

Sorry for those who had cr*p days, and Frizbe, any news on the baby yet?

We had a lovely day out {my friend now has a shiny sink), and I managed three train/tubes each way. Next time I'm going to ditch the buggy and sling him (I only need it if we go out, so I'll borrow her old one)

mustrunmore · 01/09/2006 21:33

Very impressed with your journey I'm not that brave! Detest the tube! I'm starting to think ds2 might look a bit big for the papoose now though.

mustrunmore · 01/09/2006 21:52

Dewmeadow thre's a britax buggy on the for sale boards that might suit you! £35 inc postage.

Jasnem · 01/09/2006 21:56

I saw a woman in the park this afternoon with a giant child in ababy bjorn type carrier (probably well over a year. It was only when I saw her strapping the other two toddlers in a double buggy that I understood. No wonder she looked tired

Amiable · 01/09/2006 22:04

sorry to hear things went downhill after I'd gone MRM. Love the fact that your DS1 thinks my DD is called Ethan - we may take it up as a nickname for her!

Friz - about your day. Hope the weekend is better!

3K - your post about Primark for socks has prompted me to find my nearest Primark. I bought a load of stuff for DD for when she was born and found it really good, as well as dirt cheap! I also feel I need some new clothes - I am wearing two pairs of trousers and a skirt in rotation, as nothing else fits at the mo! I did lose weight after DD was born, but have put some back on again

mustrunmore · 01/09/2006 22:17

There's a Primark in Stevenage, if you can be bothred to drive out there, and loads of other good cheap shops!! Or Kilburn I think. Or Watford. I adore the place, but very rarely get to go. you'll have to phone me from there and talk me through the experience

Frizbe · 01/09/2006 22:31

Thanks for the good wishes for the weekend Aimiable, here's hoping it gets better?

Jas, no news on baby yet.....

CSWS I've done my pelvics! and had no idea deal or no deal was back on

mustrunmore · 01/09/2006 22:33

Am I the only living person never to have watched it?!

Jasnem · 01/09/2006 22:48

Nope. I've never watched it either.
Noel Edmunds (?sp) prezsents it...that's all I need to know.

Frizbe · 01/09/2006 23:56

ah you don't know what your missing girls
well I've been to bed and got up again, seems I'm not quite ready to sleep yet, which is badddd news.......as all the kids are bound to be up early and dh has to work tomorrow as well so only sunday off work this week...

PhoenixGirl · 02/09/2006 00:03

I'm back from my night out. Had a lovely meal and a really good night out with friends def need to do it more often.

U know how Lewis sleeps at my mum and dads on a fri? And how a few weeks ago we started putting him in a grobag for bed? Well last week when we picked him up mum said he'd been up crying for about an hour in the night, which is really unusual for him.

So as we dropped him off tonight, i give her the usual run thru his routine and tell her what's in the bag and when i say a long sleeve body suit to sleep in, she says "well i just put a normal sleepsuit on him last week so i don't need that"

"what? He'll have been too warm" I said

She goes "no honestly he wasn't too warm"

How the hell does she know? There was obviously something wrong to be up crying and if u ask me the sleepsuit was the problem. To add to it the sleepsuits my mum has got are terry ones!!!

Rant over.

I'm off to bed now, dh has already gone and he wants to watch a football programme tomorrow so says i can have a lie in

Frizbe · 02/09/2006 00:10

flame Flame you need to talk cloth nappies etc here!
