Ds has an ear infection Saddefinitely staying home this weekend

utopian99 · 29/11/2013 19:38

Good cake work pidj!

Sorry for ear infections spotty - O had one a few weeks ago and was miserable. He's much better at calpol now but hates antibiotics.

Yay for nappy success willyou was going to say we'rerreusables but with naty at night and they never leak, if you want an alternative but it sounds like you're fixed now.

We have a new sound - agagag. Dh thinks it would be hilarious if ds' first word is Aga (he's very northern, I'm southern)

WLmum · 29/11/2013 20:16

spotty what terrible luck.
willyou hooray for nappy success, boo to 4 am playtime. The only thing I can suggest is cc or a version of - so terribly hard though.
I managed to leave the dds with DH this arvo and get a little bit of Xmas shopping done. It's so ridiculously long since I've been shopping. What I did discover though is that I definitely won't be getting a Rigby and Peller custom made bra after I finally finish bfing - 6 trips to Knightsbridge and £300!!!! Repeats of the same pattern are then a mere £200! Wtf?
After 3 terrible nights I am now exhausted. Looking forward to tacos with DH, glass of wine and bed asap. Full on weekend coming up too.

WLmum · 29/11/2013 20:17

utopian that would be a great first word. Maybe you should try to turn it in fois gras (sp?)

Equimum · 29/11/2013 20:34

Oh no Spotty, how disappointing.

Yay for nappies willyou

I think I'll be giving R&P a miss too WL. I want a full underwear drawer plus some for that amount Shock

I hope the party goes well tomorrow pidge. We're guests at a big 1st party tomorrow. I'm not sure whether to be excited or filled with dread!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 29/11/2013 20:40

Oh rubbish Spotty, could you and DD go out and have a lovely girly day tomorrow and then you all get takeaway later?

J is being a bugger to get to sleep!

I've just been paid £800 I wasn't expecting. No pay slip yet but I suspect it must be a tax rebate. It's come just in time for Christmas! Yay!

Barbeasty · 29/11/2013 20:48

DH swears that DD's first word was pub. I think actually"up up up up" morphed so it sounded like pub, and it's a good story.

MIL is convinced that A starts saying "no no no" as he does something naughty, as though he's telling himself off.

Bad luck with the ear infections Spotty, but console yourself that DH said Bath was unbearably busy today, so it would be pretty unbearable tomorrow.

We normally get DD's shoes in Bath, and I'm trying to convince myself that less than half a cm left means we won't have to venture in until the new year.

A slept 9-2 today, it would be lovely if he could replicate that tonight.

PurplePidjin · 29/11/2013 21:19

Beasty that reminds me. R was with my mum on Monday playing with some newspapers. Ripped one by accident and burst into floods of tears. My mum was utterly baffled by the apparent overreaction until i reminded her that a couple of months ago R tore a library book - i bellowed, he cried, he must've remembered getting in trouble for tearing books!

Barbeasty · 29/11/2013 21:44

Bless Pidj At least you know he's taking it in.

I tried to put one of A's swimming photos up, but I'm on my phone and the updated app won't let me get to the album, and will only let me put the picture up to be shared with friends. I'll sort it (when I get to go on the PC!)

DD's insult of choice. .... you silly billy goat. Turns out a billy goat is a bad thing. Laughing doesn't make a tantrum go better!

ISpyPlumPie · 29/11/2013 22:40

Spotty so sorry to hear about DP's nan Sad. Also hope you are all feeling better soon, as well as any other poorly LO's.

Love the cake Pidge. I will be spending tomorrow attempting to recreate The Very Hungry Caterpillar in cake form at the same time as transforming the house from bomb site into acceptable venue for N's party on Sunday afternoon.

We're doing bubbles, cake, bathtoys, chocolate buttons and animal masks for the party bags. Was planning on doing those little hardboard books you can get in sets but despite seemingly having shelves full of the things I couldn't find any when I went shopping at lunchtime. Should really not have left it till two days before when I work in a town that is not exactly blessed with retail options. Oh well, I'm sure they'll be fine as they are.

SpottyTeacakes · 29/11/2013 22:52

I'm feeling rubbish with an awful cold and ds has been awake crying more than he's been asleep so far tonight. Feeling very sorry for myself.

Yay for the money WillYou.

Dd called dp a smelly nappy bag Grin

Best go ds is crying again....

WLmum · 29/11/2013 23:11

Nice willyou!
Love the insult spotty
I've just labelled up stuff for nct sale tomorrow (decided there's no real alternative) -including the snow suit T came home from hospital in - sob.

utopian99 · 30/11/2013 05:04

Very nice willyou! I've been paid by three clients recently but not paid myself as it's all going to grow the business. Boo.
I remember one Christmas a direct debit I had to charity got their decimal point in the wrong place and took £500 out of my account on boxing day rather than £5. That was a shock at the time! (They did put it right pretty fast though. .)

Loving the insults from the dcs. Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 30/11/2013 05:48

WL I haven't had the heart to get rid of ds' snow suit so I've given it to a friend whose just had a baby it's just too cute!

Ds managed 11-5:30 just given medicine again as he was burning up. Dd wet the bed at 1 though...

WillYouDoTheFandango · 30/11/2013 08:36

My snowsuits (both pure white balls of fluff) are in the loft, I couldn't part with them yet. His current one is so cool, it's from next, navy with dinosaurs. Even if I have a girl next she'll be wearing it as it's too awesome.

DP did the 5am feed, I did the 1am feed. I feel almost human.

Hope you have a lovely party Pidj and good luck with your caterpillar cake Ispy.

FriendofDorothy · 30/11/2013 09:22

I bought a stupidly expensive snowsuit from JoJo. I bought a navy one which should do for boy or girl if we get pregnant again.

ddas · 30/11/2013 10:07

Love the jojo snowsuits but yes madly expensive! I'm compromise is that I get them on eBay second hand!!
They are great though and must last as the second hand ones always look new.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/11/2013 10:20

Ds has a fleece snow suit from jojo he looks super cute in it Smile I had a discount code though!

Equimum · 30/11/2013 13:45

Great news about money Willyou.

We also got sucked in by the gorgeous JoJo snowsuits and bought a fleecy one. Now debating whether to get an unlined waterproof all-in-one too! Hmmm. I still have a good discount code.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 30/11/2013 15:01

unashamed PFB alert!

We've had a developmental leap. I've been taking Ds to the same singing group since he was 12 weeks. There's a song where you pull your tongue out and he's started doing it along with the song, he's twinkling his hands along with twinkle, twinkle little star and after me singing when Santa got stuck up the chimney to him he's now saying atchoo then laughing to himself! Grin He's being awesome today!

lazzaroo · 30/11/2013 15:11

willyou that's so cute! And makes me feel better to come on to post that baby lazza has just taken her first steps Smile. She's 11 months today.

WL I have done an NCT sale this morning. Sad to see some stuff go. Made about £65 so suppose it was worth it.

Sorry your weekend not turned out as planned spotty.

Impressed with everyone's cake skills. i'm not risking inflicting my skills on anyone & getting friend to make mine! Blush

FriendofDorothy · 30/11/2013 15:43

I bought a fleecy JoJo snowsuit from ebay but bought one of the waterproof lined ones from the store. I will sell it on once we are done having babies.

FriendofDorothy · 30/11/2013 15:44

I am going to make a ladybird cake for The Little Mister and his cousin who is a few days younger. No idea how I am going to do it yet though!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 30/11/2013 15:57

Oh big clap to littlelazza!

I can feel first steps coming but J is too scared to let go of me. He tried to do one today and faceplanted Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 30/11/2013 18:50

Clever babies Smile

We've had an awful day. Ds has just cried all day apart from his two naps Sad he's had for doses of ab but still has a fever, I'm sure with dd we usually see an improvement after 24 hours.

Dd's been a pita all day and ended up having a massive nap. I know it's a combination of boredom and being tired so I feel guilty we're too ill to do anything with her.
