Yay to the antibiotics working Spotty.

Oh no WL i hope DD2 and T are ok.

Nutella, H has a thing for buttons and twists and plays with them.

We didn't see DP yesterday as he was exhausted after the weekend and his night shift. I text him to tell him i was missing him but never thought that H would be missing him too, i just assumed she was too young. He came in this morning after work and she grabbed him and cuddled him and kept kissing him, she had such a huge smile on her face to see him. It was lovely to seeGrin

Oh no WL so much seems to be going round at the moment.

That's really sweet hales Smile

halestone · 27/11/2013 10:27

I forgot to ask Willyou how are J's nappies now you've changed the size are they still leaking?

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/11/2013 11:11

That's lovely Hales! They definitely need more mummy gets to watch telly on her own daddy and daughter time.

Glad the antibs are working Spotty, poor DD. Lots of cuddles and cbeebies.

Nappies still leaked night before last Hales. Last night I tried an asda one but changed it at 11 when he had his last bottle as I couldn't face having to wash his sleeping bag yet again! He still woke at half 3 though Hmm. Think it's habit now.

Just "settling" him for his nap now. There's a hell of a lot of squawking going on and my hair may never be the same again!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/11/2013 11:12

Hope DD2 is okay too WL

Barbeasty · 27/11/2013 11:54

I hope all the poorly babies & DC make speedy recoveries.

Hales & Stacks let me give you some hope. DD is always on the go, and wants to be with someone all the time.

Today it's just the 2 of us at home. She's been off playing on her own, tidied her room Shock, helped me with the washing and happily watched some tv alone. Apart from the odd popping in to chat, and wanting little bits of help.

This means I have managed to cook red cabbage and make the sauage in bacon for Christmas, make the chocolate biscuit part of the pavé for Christmas dinner, make all the breadcrumbs and weigh them into marked bags, and put a ham in to cook for tonight.

IT GETS EASIER!

SpottyTeacakes · 27/11/2013 11:59

Beasty did you just wrap and freeze the sausages?

WLmum · 27/11/2013 12:23

hales that is super cute.
We're largely having a cbeebies day (not the meeting a friend in costa i had planned). Dd2 has a virus and a new inhaler.
Hope the other porlies are making progress.
Dd1has always been very adult dependent but as they get older you can negotiate - you watch this programme do this colouring/jigsaw/tower while I hang out the washing, then we can play a game. Dd2 is better but often they just sit on the sofa -squabbling-- and wait for me. Their choice.

Barbeasty · 27/11/2013 12:26

Yes Spotty. I did the same last year, so I decided to get organised this year too. Just defrost before cooking as usual.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/11/2013 12:47

Hmm I like that idea. I do my red cabbage in advance, trying to think what else I can do....

Dd is feeling better, hasn't stopped talking, am expecting her to go downhill later though. I'm coming down with a cold now Hmm

WLmum · 27/11/2013 13:07

Poor dd2 has been left on her own watching telly while I fight with T to nap. She's got 1 last chance then its outside in the pram with her!

SpottyTeacakes · 27/11/2013 13:11

Don't worry WL dd often has to sit and watch tv whilst I sort ds out Blush

Ds' third tooth has broken through!

WLmum · 27/11/2013 13:21

Gave up on the nap which kind of cocks up my plans but I could feel the frustration rising (not much sleep last night) so now I'm cuddling dd2 on the sofa while T pulls stuff out of cupboards and stands too close to the tv. Too tired to care.

halestone · 27/11/2013 13:59

H feels hot to touch, but i'm not taking her temperature as it winds her up. Shes cuddled up with me now. Shes already had two naps today. Something isn't right with her but i'm not sure what. My mum sister and niece have had that vomiting bug and DP mentioned he felt dodgy this morning. I hope H isn't getting it as well. She was hot all last night as well and abit restless. Hmmm i shall just have to wait and see.

Beasty, you sound super organised. I haven't even brought a tree yetShock Also i hope the clinginess now is a sign of independence later.

Spotty hope your feeling ok, and that the cold doesn't take too much out of you.

Willyou, i couldn't tell from your post because i'm thick at the moment but did DS soak through his nappy at 3am?

OP posts:
halestone · 27/11/2013 14:00

WL i hope T naps for you soon.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/11/2013 15:05

I think a tv day is what you all need WL. Children are way too overstimulated these days anyway Wink

We've been to baby group, j ran riot. I just smiled fondly like an overindulgent mum. I don't give a shit, I'll be back at work in 5 weeks anyway.

No Hales he hadn't. I'll just change his nappy at his last feed. If he doesn't wake for a feed I presume he won't wee enough to leak so it's win win. I really hope H hasn't got it Hales. That would not be a fun time.

WLmum · 27/11/2013 15:55

Anyone know any good comedians touring next year? Need to get DH something for his bday in a couple of weeks and we've been talking about more date nights so 2 birds with one stone!

SpottyTeacakes · 27/11/2013 16:19

Little rant:

Not had a single card from anyone in dp's family (apart from his poor dying nan!) for ds' birthday. I'm really pissed off about it, probably unreasonably so but really? Angry His brother told him he'd pop over tonight (er his birthday was yesterday?) at about 5:15 and I made dp tell him no as that's when I have two grumpy children about to have their dinner. His parents said they would also 'try to get over tonight but not sure what time' so I told them no too. Honestly why couldn't they drop over at the weekend they obviously weren't intent on seeing him on his actual birthday which is absolutely fine as dd was ill and I was working etc. I think I'm extra pissed off as when he was born none of them bothered coming to see him for at least three weeks. There's two other brothers too but not heard anything from them...

lazzaroo · 27/11/2013 18:36

I'd be pissed off too spotty. I hope DS had a good birthday.

There is so much illness about at the moment. A friend of mine has her little one in hospital at the mo with bronchiolitis Sad. he's only 5 months old. I have horrible cold too. Hope everyone gets to feel better soon.

Baby lazza had her 12 month check today. A bit early but better than not at all. Hv really pleased with her. Fine that we've gone straight to cows milk already. She did point out though that 'she doesn't need to feed at night anymore' though! Apparently 'the only way to stop is to just not do it'

Have also had letter with results od dd1 sleep study. They found she does have breathing difficulties at night so waiting on another appointment now.

Maryland2013 · 27/11/2013 19:41

Spotty I would be furious. I hope your little girl is feeling better. What has your DP said about their 'indifference'?!

Maryland2013 · 27/11/2013 19:45

WL my DP saw Micky Flanagan last year and loved him. I saw a Sarah Millican not long ago at a warm up gig and she was great. If there's someone that you like, and you sign up to their website or follow them on twitter you will hear about warm up gigs. Not polished and small venues but miles funnier IMO. We've seen Jason manford, Peter Kay at warm ups. I wouldn't watch comedy at an arena venue again it was shit, just watched the giant screens so was like watching a DVD but an £80 DVD!!!

Maryland2013 · 27/11/2013 19:46

How are you feeling Hales? Have been thinking of you :)

SpottyTeacakes · 27/11/2013 19:49

His parents just turned up as I was serving up dinner Shock dp just huffs and says 'well I will tell them not to come then!' Hmm

Dd is feeling much better thanks.

WL if I'd known you could have had my Micky Flanagan tickets, I had to send them back as couldn't make the new date!

WLmum · 27/11/2013 20:04

spotty I'd be mad too. That's a horrible way to behave. I can't believe they didn't come and see him for 3 weeks either!
maryland that's a good point. I'd love to see Sarah millican but I think DH gets those updates as he once had an idea about taking me! I think stadiums are too big but we've been to theatre gigs that have been great. I've looked at our local theatres but no names appearing apart from jimmy Carr and I'm not that keen. spotty I'll check out Micky Flanagan.
Glad your dd is feeling better, my poor dd2 has eaten half a banana, a biscuit and 4 maltesers all day. She was looking dreadful when I put her to bed. Unless she makes a miraculous recovery I guess she won't be going to preschool tomorrow morning. That'll be another coffee and jobs morning out the window.

Maryland2013 · 27/11/2013 20:09

I can't believe how many poorly babies there are :(
