utopian99 · 22/11/2013 03:28

We're up for regular 3am waking. Settling without milk takes a lot longer, but desperate to make my fertility come back so we can get no 2 brewing. V jealous of all the Dec 12 mothers with one already in progress, can I ask those of you who are if you're still feeding much at all? Everyone says it's not a reliable form of contraception but it's working too Damn well for us! Hmm

2blessed · 22/11/2013 06:20

utopian R has 3 bottles of formula a day and then boob for comfort/to get him off to sleep. Really want to wean him off by his birthday, so another 7? Weeks. Dreading settling him during the night without milk...

R has been sleeping since 9.10

Hope you're all packed hales. Love center parcs, have a great time Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 22/11/2013 07:46

Ds slept nearly 14 hours Shock ignored the fact that dd was a right pita all night

Equimum · 22/11/2013 09:48

Wow Spotty that was some sleep!

DS slept 7.30-12.10, 12.30-6.40, so a pretty good night here too. I think he was exhausted after his tummy bug yesterday. Luckily, that seemed to be a 24hr thing.

We're going to try getting DS down without milk while DH is off over Christmas - don't think it's a battle I want to face alone, and DH is rarely home before 9pm/ out of house by 7am at the moment. Unfortunately, we're not doing it to TTC, just to make things a bit easier. I think we'll be waiting another year or so before we think about another one -although I'd like one sooner

WillYouDoTheFandango · 22/11/2013 10:20

Hey folks

Congratulations 2blessed, so many pregnant ladies on this thread now Envy

Glad you're home Spotty hope you feel a bit better

Hope you got some sleep Hales, have bum fun at center parks Blush

I have promptly forgotten everything else I read!

We went to watch Micky Flanagan last night. It was great - we boozed it up in a cocktail bar, got takeaway on the way home and I slept until 10am! MiL had DS, just about to go for him now. Poor DP had to be in work at 6, I imagine he'll be feeling decidedly less chipper than me this morning!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 22/11/2013 13:50

DS is growing I think. He slept 12 hours last night for MiL (the traitor), had a 30 min nap this morning and has just crashed out again.

He's also eating everything in sight. Ella's lamb pouch, chocolate pudding and a satsuma for tea, weetabix for breakfast and beans, scrambled egg and toast for dinner. I love it when he eats! I feel like I may become a feeder like MiL.

I must tackle the bomb site where my kitchen used to be while he's asleep.

WLmum · 22/11/2013 17:57

Wish he'd have a word with T willyou she's still barely eating a thing.

WLmum · 22/11/2013 17:59

Your night sounds great willyou. I had a hissy fit last night about how DH and I are just 2 people that live in the same house (although mostly not in the house at the same time!). We def need to do more dates. I am going out with my girly pals tonight though.

SpottyTeacakes · 22/11/2013 18:00

Ds has napped a total of 3.5 hours today. He always seems to eat whatever we put in front of him too. I'm making the most of it as I'm all too aware that it could all change very quickly!

MrsNutella · 22/11/2013 19:53

pidj congrats to R being a whole year old! And fx that 2014 brings you and your family a much more awesome time! So sorry about DP. Thanks

spotty glad you're home and on the road to recovery. Hope you soon feel back to normal.

Utopian I know this wont help in your quest for making baby 2; but as my mum says "you only really have one chance per month". Hopefully it will all work out for you soon and you get to have some fun practicing! The wife of a friend of mine had him on a schedule and was going a little bit baby crazy to the point where he said to me "honestly Nut, I'd just like a cuddle, I'm worn out" hahaha poor man! (A cuddle with his missus, not me Grin)

Hmmmm what else is new.... DS is doing lots of pointing and "da" not sure if I wrote that last time.... Oh and many congratulations 2blessed

2blessed · 22/11/2013 20:49

Sounds like a great night willyou. DP and I are having our first night out together next week - dinner and a show. Need to sort out babysitting...

So pleased its friday night, tough ol' week at work. You know those times when you know you've earned your money?

Relaxing weekend ahead, really need to clean and fancy making stew oxtails.

FriendofDorothy · 22/11/2013 23:37

I'm with you Utopian. I had hoped that number 2 might be brewing away nicely too. Kind of disappointed that it's not.

I am still breastfeeding but pretty sure I am ovulating.

WLmum · 23/11/2013 00:11

Sending conception vibes to utopian and fod.
Great night out with the girls but got back to a hysterical T and a careworn looking DH. The boobs have worked their magic and she's fast asleep again. Poor buba T.

utopian99 · 23/11/2013 00:43

Thanks for conception vibes! Sorry for your dh but yay for boob Grin

We have been out with friends while my brother babysat O. It's been REALLY nice, being just grown ups for a change definitely need more of these evenings. He was a tiny little star for my bro too and only woke after we got back and had a glass of water, good boy. Feeling so generally happy I utterly forgot the no milk at night so he's now happily feasting away and I'm feeling a lot less stressed about no 2 while no 1 is so lovely

ddas · 23/11/2013 04:46

It's hard when you're feeling broody but appreciate this time

ddas · 23/11/2013 04:50

Sorry malco fingers.

It's hard when you're feeling broody but enjoy this time with him alone as they grow so quickly & is harder 2nd time round to get as much quality time.

After showing us she can sleep through for a few days last week the last two nights have been awful!
Low grade temps, no source, reluctance to eat so I suspect teeth that about to make an appearance.

ddas · 23/11/2013 04:52

& means plans of possibly weaning from boob not going to happen.
Currently attached to it.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/11/2013 08:05

Ds has covered my sitting room floor in crumpet Hmm

Barbeasty · 23/11/2013 15:43

We went out earlier to get the amazing toy farm we'd seen for A for Christmas. It's no longer being produced. After the panic wore off we got him a lovely wooden rocking horse instead. He had a go on the one in the shop and liked it, so he should get some decent use out of it.

Then we got some lunch and A was a complete pain. Biting when I fed him, standing up in the highchair, really noisy.

DH was discussing with DD what they'd do when we got home which involved dressing up. DH said they'd put a tail on A and he could be a baby devil. DD said he already has a tail- a willy tail.

We couldn't keep a straight face!

Not sure exactly what's going on upstairs but when DH went to join them it sounds as though A has been dressed up in DD's clothes.

lazzaroo · 23/11/2013 15:58

Glad you're feeling better spotty

I haven't posted for a while but keep an eye on what's been going on! Nt always good at remembering it all though!

Need a bit of virtual hand holding. I haven't bf baby lazza since 7am. She's been ok. Dh says we should just stick it out & stop now. He's home for a week. Longest stretch of support I'll get this side of Christmas. I'm worrying a bit because she's just not that interested in drinking milk from cup. Have offered it but she's only taking few sips. I'm also unsure about going cold turkey overnight, or whether I should give her bedtime feed and deal with that later. Am also dreading the possibility that she'll get her revenge by wanting to feed all night Confused.

lazzaroo · 23/11/2013 17:20

Ok, so I think we've agreed she'll still have bed time feed for now. Going to try night weaning from tonight though. So in theory she should just be on morning and bed time feed.

Can't believe birthday season has started. Happy birthday to the older ones!

PurplePidjin · 23/11/2013 17:38

lazza it's pretty normal to drop to 2 feeds about now, we dropped in September at 9 1/2 months and some other friends were earlier. Calcium also comes from green leafy veg and chickpeas - tonight R had spinach, peas and cheese in mashed jacket pot plus a vege burger as finger food, then a fromage frais for pudding. Loads of calcium but no cows milk, at least not in "straight" form! R loves milk cold but won't drink it warm Hmm i give him 1" in a free flow cup most days, he has water freely accessible in a non-spill cup plus boob x2 a day. Hope there's something useful in my rambling Hmm
