Got it sorted! Allegedly she'd reserved me a ticket. Only thing was she couldn't find it and then the tcket she gave me had someone else's name on. Hmm Then again my friend's one also had someone else's name on!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2013 15:49

What a shambles WillYou!

Dd now has sickness bug. She was sick all down herself and car seat. I had to pull over to clean her up and it got on my uggs Angry I didn't have any wipes or even a muslin!

Maryland2013 · 13/11/2013 16:00

Talc on the uggs Spotty to soak it up then brush it off tomorrow with suede/ sheepskin brush! Don't wipe them!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2013 16:07

Luckily it was just one lump (sorry!) but that's a great tip thanks! She's just been sick again but we managed to get it in the bowl. Ds tried to inspect it and I only just managed to stop him putting his hand in it! Eugh I can't handle sick!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2013 16:21

Oh no now dp has got it! There's no hope for me is there??

BopsX3 · 13/11/2013 16:26

Spotty DS2 has been off school today with vomiting, as have 6 other children just in his class Confused. I was up 4 times in the night with him and he threw up all over Oliver at tea time yesterday and all over me at dinner time today Hmm Confused Shock. Hoping he'll be ok tomorrow though and it's just a 24hr thing (fingers crossed). But I can see it passing on to me, Oliver and/or DS1 too :(

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2013 16:29

With ds it was sickness over night then diarrhoea the next day but fine after that so I'm thinking just 24 hours? I know there's lots going round Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2013 16:30

Posted too soon....

Your poor ds2 it's really not nice for them but worse for you as you had to clear it all up Wink

BopsX3 · 13/11/2013 17:18

Eurgh its awful isn't it spotty Confused I can't stand it. I was almost throwing up myself before when I was trying to take my top off (which DS2 had just vommed all over). Then it ended up in my hair and everything. Don't think I've ever run for the shower as fast before in my life haha Grin

BopsX3 · 13/11/2013 17:19

Sorry, that's probably TMI! Haha

PurplePidjin · 13/11/2013 17:26

We're normally 2x40 minute naps at 10:30 and 1:30ish, today has been 1x90 minute and it's showing - dp's home early on time and is fighting a shouty baby into his pyjamas Sad i wish these teeth would just hurry up and cut Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2013 17:47

Ds usually has two 90 minute naps but often one of them is more two hours.

Dd's still being sick dp is in bed. I'm really hoping I don't get it. Anyone with older dc what were they like first time they had diarrhoea, is it going to be as bad as I think?

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2013 19:35

I've got it now!

Maryland2013 · 13/11/2013 19:41

Oh no spotty :(

WLmum · 13/11/2013 19:55

Oh no spotty. Diarrhoea in 3 year olds isn't great. Keep a potty in her room so she can hop on quick if she gets enough warning. Tbh my big 2 only had it rarely and I don't think it was ever much not on the loo.

I can see Ts 2 top front teeth about to cut (that will make a grand total of 4). Naps are mostly 2 per day with one about 30 mins and one an hour + but I think we're slowly moving over to one as she can stay awake beautifully most of the morning if there's something exciting going on.

BopsX3 · 13/11/2013 20:21

Spotty, only tip I have really is to make sure they're wearing pants that are easy to remove, ie- no buttons, zips etc. Grin

I wish Oliver would sleep more during the day :( I feel as though I don't get any time to myself at the moment as I tend to catch up on housework when the boys are In bed. With him only sleeping about 45 mins ish in the afternoon I get chance to have a brew in peace then maybe a quick tidy up downstairs then he's awake again.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 13/11/2013 21:01

Oh poor Spotty household, I hope it's quick and mild for you all.

Pidj can you post your biscuit recipe again please?

ISpyPlumPie · 13/11/2013 21:21

Spotty hope you all recover quickly. Also hope everyone in the Bops household is ok now too.

We are transitioning from two naps a day to one. I don't think it's always advisable for him to drop his morning nap tbh, but he won't be told Grin.

Today was the first time I felt properly guilty about going back to work since having N. I was terrible last time round, but this time I just accept that we can't really afford for me not to work and also that I shouldn't feel bad about trying to preserve a career. This morning he was being super clingy though due to his cold and teething, and was so upset when I left him. He's actually been fine all day but I just felt so bad. I know I wouldn't have a job for long if I took a day off every time he had a cold, and that when he's well I actually think he benefits from spending some time at nursery but it is hard leaving him like that Sad

Maryland2013 · 13/11/2013 21:35

For those of you with older DCs when do they normally change from multiple naps to one long (ish) one? My friends baby is nearly 15 mths and has to be woken up from a 3 hour nap from 10am ish

Bops how does that sound?!

I'm trying to get the nursery to enforce 2 naps but there's so much going on I think he would do better with one around lunchtime rather than half an hr am and total refusal PM!

Maryland2013 · 13/11/2013 21:39

Oh Ispy you shouldn't beat yourself up! As parents we have to make difficult decisions and although I'd love to stay home it's just not financially viable so we have to do what we have to do. I feel bad too but I'd feel worse if we lived in a tiny house with no room in a not very nice area with crappy schools just so I can stay home.
You're providing :) that's a good mum!
And yes think of the benefits of nursery aside from the work thing... Sometimes I think DS has much more fun at nursery with all the activities going on - I can't compete with all that!

ISpyPlumPie · 13/11/2013 23:34

Thanks Maryland. I should know by now that feeling guilty comes with the territory.

Not sure about naps. Really can't remember with DS1. Think it was around the time he turned 1 but can't be certain. Not very helpful sorry!

WLmum · 13/11/2013 23:44

I think you feel a certain amount of guilt whatever decisions you make/situation you are in - yep ispy goes with the territory. Our babies are loved and cared for and at the centre of our worlds - nothing to feel guilty about really!

hales sorry to hear your dad is still so poorly - for some reason I thought he'd had an op and was rather better.

WLmum · 13/11/2013 23:45

Sorry posted too soon - hope he/you are ok.

WLmum · 13/11/2013 23:47

I think you have to judge the dropping a nap according to the child - I know some babies who stopped napping altogether at 1 and other who still had a couple of hours at 4!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 13/11/2013 23:48

Mine's down to 1 nap already. He had had 1 2 hour afternoon nap since he turned 9 months.

A nap in the morning can be forced of we desperately need to do something during his usual nap time but it'll only be 40 mins, there will be no 2nd nap and 5-7pm is horrific! Grin

DP promised to do the late night feed, and yet here I am.
