Welcome lulumama . Mrsdarcy is in Merseyside and I am in Cheshire - we meet up sometimes but not very often!

Hub, no car seat clicking noises here - mind you I kind of have to throw ds2 into his seat as its in the centre seat and the two booster cushions are on the outside - poor child has nearly been concussed several times .

lulunaticmama · 05/10/2006 18:31

thanks - will look out for next meet up ...

mrsdarcy · 05/10/2006 19:02

she's gorgeous, Hub . All that lovely hair.

Welcome, lulumama. I'm in Merseyside. Whereabouts are you?

DD's sleep is awful and I'm v tired and frazzled today. She's being a typical toddler, destroying everything in her wake, and I'm too knackered to deal with it so I'm all stressy and mean. Only to people I'm related to though, so you lot are fine!

mrsdarcy · 05/10/2006 19:46

Ooh, pretty close to me. I'm in Crosby

fab - ! do you run this thread as it were, or is it a free for all!!

what's the etiquette-

mrsdarcy · 05/10/2006 19:51

No, I just set up the thread for the new year! I am not an "organiser". The local NCT doesn't want me .

We started off on a July 2005 ante natal thread and the people who post now are the trusty stalwarts from there. But anyone is welcome to join in

OP posts:
QuiQuoQua · 05/10/2006 20:21

l'll join in too if you don't mind. DD arrived (quickly) on the 25th.

lulunaticmama · 05/10/2006 20:31

ok, will keep an eye on thread and post as and when it is relevant....thanks for the warm welcome

DiamondsAreForever · 06/10/2006 11:04

Hi QQQ and Lulu! Welcome to our thread!
my dd was born on the 26th and I have a ds coming in 9 weeks. But preferably coming on time and very quickly and with very little pain, in fact, with an epidural in place from about November 16th just to be on the safe side.
I'm in London but only until Jan when I become as one with the country in Shropshire. Hooray!
I am 'busy' today designing a Christmas deals brochure- I am so not in the Christmas spirit and simply can't be bothered. Maybe a double decker will help, what do you reckon?
DD was amazing last night- 12 hours of solid sleep and was loads of fun this morning- until she had to go in her pushchair with the rain hood on. The poor thing screamed the house down! x

QuiQuoQua · 06/10/2006 11:14

morning DrF. My DD just had MMR and pneum jab today. she's sound asleep now... not for long i'm sure
I take it you are happy to move to the country then? tell me more... I am pondering the same move but scared...

hub2dee · 06/10/2006 12:17

Are they doing the two together sometimes ? Blimey !

FWIW, our dd had a teensy bit of a rough ride with the MMR... temp a week later, bit of a rash / temp etc. at 3 weeks after etc.... hope your next few weeks goes OK.

QuiQuoQua · 06/10/2006 12:21

yes apparently they do now for those who need to catch up. oh you don't say... she's been asleep for a while now. anyway she's been teething the past few days so she's quite grumpy anyway. I hope she won't get any temp though, we get so bored at home...

mrsdarcy · 06/10/2006 15:02

Hello QQQ

DD has just crawled up the stairs with a football kit bag round her neck . She reached the top panting and flung herself onto the landing as though she had just climbed Everest. I must must must supervise her a bit better

DD has been fine after all of her jabs, but that's only fair as she is an awful teether and sleeper!

DaF, have work agreed to you working from home then? And have you found somewhere to live in Shropshire? How lovely to have a new home and a new baby.

I have 3 RL pg friends (and DaF on MN of course)and am getting very broody. I think DH may be coming round to the idea now, but I am convinced my eggs resemble marrowfat peas as I am so elderly. Surely there are others on our thread who are thinking about it? How about Merryberry? Ahoy there Merryberry!

DD and I went to the Big Scream to see Little Miss Sunshine (v good). The membership is supposed to be valid until their 1st bday so I wasn't sure if we'd be able to go, but no-one seemed to care. They are showing The Devil Wears Prada next week which I'm looking forward to. DD was quite good really. We sat at the front with the other crawlers and walkers and they just careered round happily. Whenever people laughed at the film, DD thought they were cheering her and did a happy little bum-shake!

Must get the boys from school. DS2 is in trouble (again - he attracts it) so let's see what his teacher says today. He's been calling people Garlic Head.

x

Gosh, ds2 hasn't had any teeth since his birthday, he has eight.

Mrsd, lol at "NCT doesn't want me" - you always seem very organised to me .

Was going to add that some of us have been around longer than the anti-natal threads. Pamina and I were on the TTC thread 2 years ago!! ds2's birth still seems so fresh in my mind and although I do still feel quite broody at times I certainly won't be having any more babies at the moment as I am enjoying my new found freedom too much .

Pamina, I wouldn't feel guilty if I were you, as I type ds2 is eating milky bar buttons because we went to the sweet shop after school for ds1 and dd and so I thought it was only fair he had something too .

I need to book the MMR again, not sure why they haven't sent a reminder tbh as I intend to have it done.

Welcome QQQ from us too .

Daf, congratulations on the move to the country. I can't belive you are due in 9 weeks - how quickly has that gone?

Pamina.

I would be freaked out at the finality of DH having the snip. I guess your reaction shows that it was the right decision (or that you are a big tart

mrsd and Pamina.

QuiQuoQua · 06/10/2006 19:36

hello to you all. Mrsdarcy where's this wonderful cinema where you take your little one? i am dying to go to the movies. Oh DD has done the same to me once, and worse, a couple of months ago I left her in the front garden for a split second to go and get keys, and I just cought her sneaking out under the front gate. super and !!
it's difficult at first 'cause they go from innocent babies to cunning little things, don't they.

I did not receive any letter from the GP re MMR and pneum. apparently I should have booked that in at 12m. while I was waiting for them. I think it differs from every surgery, or borough, or maybe it's just my sh**ty area.

Pamina, where were you on the 25th?

mrsdarcy · 06/10/2006 19:44

QQQ, it's our local independant cinema. It's a Picturehouse so if you have one by you they might do Big Scream showings. We've been going since DD was quite small and it's great.

Hellooo I'm new to Mumsnet but can I join your thread please?! I have ds born 12 July 05 and 1 dd 21 April 04, so I think at least for one baby I qualify!

hub2dee · 06/10/2006 21:11

MY, our thread is heaving with new people. Welcome all !

dd says cockledoodledoo, which I think is bl00dy impressive.

Today she showed an interest in mega blocks.

DiamondsAreForever · 06/10/2006 21:23

Hello again to all the new members- thank goodness we got some new people, I was getting really bored with the ones on here already hee hee

MrsD, are you really getting broody? If so, please let me tell you all about my enormous stomach, back ache, headaches, sickness and bladder infection. Dh is so getting the old snip after this one and I am having those implants all the way up my arms and a few in my legs for luck.

well, work have been really rubbish and have made me a stupid offer which I can't accept, so it looks at the moment like I will be a SAHM for a bit at least and dh can go out and earn the money to keep us in the champagne lifestyle we lead... of course, they would be mad to let me go but it's their loss and only loads of money lost from my side. Bummer!
We are still going ahead with the move though, I have spiritually moved out of London and am mentally breathing in clean country air as we speak. However, we will still only be an hour from Selfridges in B'ham so I have that nice safety net!
anyway, must go and rest my poor swollen ankles x

QuiQuoQua · 06/10/2006 21:24

it is impressive hub2dee. mine only says one word in italian plus mamma and daddy.

answering someone earlier, I am thinking about the next one, but not till 2008.
