i've heard of other girls doing it hub, don't worry. though maybe video it to really embarrass her with when she's about 15 !

what a cutie, mrsd. bet your boys think she's ace. i am so with you on the appalling sleeper front...

dd did rather well out of my shopping trip today & has 2 new pairs of boots, one of them silver. poor girl doesn't stand a chance with my shopping obsession. i was so pleased with her outfit today i almost took a picture. but rang a friend instead who said i was mad .

poor dd had a horrid sickness bug this week. she spent literally all of wednesday night throwing up, i lost count eventually. she couldn't even keep water down. she's fine now, but it wasn't much fun at all. so far the rest of us are ok too.

today she's been mostly saying row-row (the boat), hello & bye. yesterday was ellie (friend's baby). i'm very impressed actually, as i don't think ds was talking at all at this stage.

mrsdarcy · 22/09/2006 21:44

I'm very impressed with your DD's vocabulary, HC. I don't think any of mine were talking at this age. DD says "row-row" too and has certain noises for certain things but still very much baby-language.

I'm not a very good girly shopper, but I do like getting DD clothes. I bought her some spotty trousers the other day and she looks so sweet in them.

She has a blister on her toe, presumably from her new shoes. I don't know if I should be cross with John Lewis' sales assistant or what, but we'll keep the shoes off for a while, I think.

The boys adore her, as do some of the other children in the playground. Although having this gap between children was never something I would have particularly chosen, it's a very nice side of it. As soon as the children are let out of school about 4 regular fans converge on her pushchair, sticking their faces right in, and she loves it

are they spotty trousers from john lewis? if so, we have them .

yes, ds & his mates think dd is rather cool. and a few of them have babies dd can bash which she rather likes...

mrsdarcy · 22/09/2006 23:05

Yes! We have the green ones. I think they do white ones too.

DH is out this evening and I've been watching really crap TV instead of having an early night before DD starts her night wails.

OP posts:
hoxtonchick · 22/09/2006 23:20

dd has got the white ones. v impractical but gorgeous. though she's such a tiny thing that the 12-18 ones are much too big & fall down in a comedy fashion. am looking forward to putting her in more skirts now she's properly walking.

now go to bed .

hub2dee · 23/09/2006 07:27

Thanks hc, LOL@ their fave toy mrsd. dd actually started much earlier but she is becoming, ahem, more adept, LOL.

Eulalia · 23/09/2006 08:20

hub my dd sometimes fiddles with herself (age 4) but wait until you hear this....

I leave ds2 with his nappy off for a minute or two just to get a bit of air. He was lying on the sofa and dd was ticking him. It went quiet with the odd contented gurgle from ds and I turned round and found dd SUCKING DS'S WILLY!!! Arggh! I tried to be calm and just said don't do that because its where he does wee wee and its dirty and she said "but he likes it" and sure enough he had been laughing.

Ah well no harm done I guess

hoxtonchick · 23/09/2006 08:58

that is hilarious eulalia .

hub2dee · 23/09/2006 09:37

I have heard slightly older girls with their hands down South in their buggies etc. but tbh I haven't seen this 'kind of thing' (LOL) in any other babies dd's age (and she started several months back ! I hope she is destined to a life of contentment !

E - blimey !

mrsdarcy · 23/09/2006 10:23

Took ds2 into dh's work yesterday and he performed by toddling around and smiling at a group of about 6 adults. It was so sweet - aren't they just adorable at this age Want to say more but dd is giving me the old "mummeee mummmmmeeee"

DiamondsAreForever · 28/09/2006 13:49

So, you want to see me?!!! here what a bunch, eh?!
I don't look that happy today after being woken up at 5.30am by a right little handful who wanted to get into the washing machine all morning and not eat her weetabix and bananas. She also said her name this morning (more or less!) so I forgive her everything!
have a nice day and don't laugh too much at my picture! And if you don't know my real name then you can guess who I am! x

hub2dee · 28/09/2006 19:36

I'm guessing HG.

hub2dee · 28/09/2006 19:37

... and I hope you can knock out a nice veggie roast dinner, LOL.

hoxtonchick · 28/09/2006 20:24

fab photo daf! have they let you know about the work at home thing yet?

mrsdarcy · 29/09/2006 10:43

Ooh, nice to put a face to you, DaF. Your colleagues look nice too. Much better than boring old lawyer websites, which is what I'm used to.

OP posts:
Eulalia · 29/09/2006 23:18

What a lovely picture Daf - I thought you might be a blonde for some reason. You look a lot better than me.... I look distinctly worn out these days (too many children..)

Still we are away on 9th October to Spain for 2 weeks - Yah!!!

Party tomorrow for my Dad - he's 80 in a couple of weeks and we are having a surprise 'do' for him.

hoxtonchick · 30/09/2006 08:40

i am so not posting the photo of my on my work website, it's minging.

have a great holiday eulalia. and party. you lucky thing .

hoxtonchick · 30/09/2006 08:40

me, not my

mrsdarcy · 30/09/2006 20:02

oh go onnnnnnnnnnn HC.

I have nothing to lose by nagging you as my photo is nowhere on the www

Lucky you, going abroad, Eulalia. We're trying to find somewhere to stay over half-term but having left it so late, there's not much left and we are averse to holiday cottages that smell of wee, which narrows the field.

OP posts:
DiamondsAreForever · 02/10/2006 16:39

Yes, go on HC!!! Well, after all those nice comments I now feel loads better about being enormous on my lower half!!!
I've had quite a few meetings about my home working proposal and it's looking really bleak, they really don't want to give it a try and I'm not sure what else I can do now to persuade them- launch a "Save Diamonds' campaign maybe?!
So I am going to have a very long Christmas holiday- maybe for a few years!
DD has had a horrible teething episode last week- six teeth all coming through at once, the poor little thing! But rather get them all out at the same time I suppose. She's back to normal now and has got her naughty streak back- whenever I say 'no' when she tries to empty out the laundry bin- she shouts 'NOOOOOOO!' and laughs like a drain. However, we took her out for lunch yesterday and had several comments on how nicely she ate her lunch and what a lovely little girl she was. Needless to say it didn't last and she shouted all the way home. What a great age this is- it's so much fun (apart from all the hard work!) x

Bagpuss30 · 03/10/2006 12:49

Hi everyone . I've so much to catch up on! I hope everyone is well.

ds2 is now walking quite well and has been for 2 weeks or so. We have joined our local gymbabes group which we have been to this morning (ds still asleep in his cot nearly 2 hours later so it must be good).

Older two children now both at school full time which is really strange but ds2 and I get up to all sorts in the day whic is nice (although I must confess that a lot of it revolves around shopping ).

daf, your picture looks great - you must be blooming because you don't look as rough as I did when I was pg .

Eulalia and . I hope you have a lovely hol - am v as we have left it too late for half term as usual.

Right, best be off and make some lunch before ds wakes.

lulunaticmama · 03/10/2006 20:49

Hi - DD born 29th July 05 - please can we join you ?have posted on lots of other threads, but never thought to join this one !!! ta

hub2dee · 05/10/2006 15:10

lulu loon Welcome !!!

You just scraped into our thread by a few days.

dd is growing an impresive head of curls, and I've put up a new album of the last couple of months in this thread .

If any of you need pictures in Northish London, just shout /CAT and we could do a shoot in a park or whatever.

One very odd q: when you take the los out of their car seats... do their bones make little clicky noises ? (Told you it was odd...) You know like when you do a massive stretch or whatever and your fingers / back clicks a little....

Our car seat is fairly massive, so getting her in and out is always a fairly twisty affair (even with a big car - it's an estate not a people carrier so has lower roofline which doesn't help), but she seems to click rather a lot !

lulunaticmama · 05/10/2006 15:27

thanks hub !

would like to mention i am usually lulumama - this is my scary halloween alter ego!!

gorgeous pics of your gorgeous dd - mine is also a curly tot!!

is anyone on this thread in the merseyside area?

ps Hub2dee- definitely no clicky noises!!
