DD says nowt. Well, she has certain noises for certain situations, but none are recognisable English.

DH has just wondered if she has something wrong with her as she sleeps so badly. No, you fool, the only thing wrong with her is that she is a baby. Can you believe this man has 3 children?

Do you have other children, QQQ?

Welcome, Beccadillo. Golly, your 2 are nice and close together aren't they? How are you finding it? My 1st 2 are 17 months apart and when DaF spawns in December she'll have a 17 months gap too (is that right DaF?).

By the way DaF, have you got a name lined up? I remember you knew what you were calling DD but wanted to keep it to yourself.

Quite broody but could be bought off with something like lovely curtains. Not broody in a bunny boiler sort of way. I'm really suffering with awful PMT and having a baby would get me off the hook for about 15 months, but that's not a very good reason to bring a new life into the world, is it? Also, I would really have to try to re-train DH. I don't think I could cope with 2 smalls and 2 mediums on my own.

Mrsd, we need to go to Space NK again . Or I could take you in to Lush and we could buy up half the shop to cheer ourselves up....

hoxtonchick · 06/10/2006 22:31

wow, this thread's gone mad

Bagpuss30 · 06/10/2006 22:32

Hi HC

hoxtonchick · 06/10/2006 22:33

got your mountain buggy yet ?

Bagpuss30 · 06/10/2006 22:35

Hahahahaha Nooooo! Won't fit in the car after all .

hoxtonchick · 06/10/2006 22:36

gutted

Bagpuss30 · 06/10/2006 22:38

Have my eye on a nice cheaper one that will fit though .

Bagpuss30 · 06/10/2006 22:43

dh would just love that......

hoxtonchick · 06/10/2006 22:44

you need an estate bagpuss....

QuiQuoQua · 06/10/2006 22:47

no mrs darcy only this one for now. still getting used to the idea, feel like a kid myself. sometimes when she plays or smth I feel like saying "oi! I should be doing that!" - rather than sortin out the laundry or 10 weeks meal planner or other boring, brainshrinking stuff like that.

Bagpuss30 · 06/10/2006 22:54

I'm having a hard enough time convincing dh that the E3 has served its purpose, but the car as well.....?

Hub, dd's vocab very impressive by the way. ds2 can say duck and quack quack (ducks are his very favourite things) and we get a lot of yes and no's in answer to questions too.

Welcome to Beccadillo too .

hub2dee · 07/10/2006 08:18

I should state, to avoid inferiority complexes in the July 05 group that the 'cockledoodledoo' is still a little hit and miss. She won't do it when asked, for example, with Ultimate Predictability.TM

We came up with it because she kept saying something which sounded like 'cock' (I think I posted about this ages ago).

lulunaticmama · 07/10/2006 08:29

well - i join up - and so do lots of other people!

BIt of info about DD

She has 7 teeth , with a very cute gap b./w her top two

she says dog - when referring to dogs, cats, ducks, other people and basically anything

she understands the following questions

Do you want some milk
Have you done a poo
Do you want a sleep

Always says 'yes' and nods her head - and its usually the right answer!! especially the poo question!

she will, kiss, wave, clap her hands and dance on request!!

bags of fun this one!!!!!!!! but never cockadoodledoo! how funny!

But no more babies for me! Have DS who is 7 , and am more than happy with my two - but congrats to all you ladies going for it again!!

DiamondsAreForever · 09/10/2006 09:00

Morning all. and hi HC!
MrsD- we have got a name lined up, however, it will mean that dd and ds will have the same initials, just like Britney Spears' two- I am hoping that no-one will be as fickle as me and notice. The two will be nearly 17 months apart- I am a little worried that it's going to be a nightmare as people have said it's the most challenging gap.. how did you find it?

Today I am supposed to be designing an advert for a Scotttish trade magazine- I think I will continue my search for a double buggy instead- hee hee!

DiamondsAreForever · 09/10/2006 09:01

sorry about the overuse of t in Scottish...

mrsdarcy · 09/10/2006 12:41

DaF, I think it's a really nice gap. It was hardest when DS2 started crawling. I think DS1 was too little to remember what it was like to be the only one so he just got on with it. I think I was a bit too hard on DS1 at times though. I treated him as though he was much older, when really he was still a baby too

Hi all .

Daf, I would agree with mrsd (I have 22 months between my first two). I found things an awful lot easier when ds1 was 2.5 though. Good luck with the buggy shopping!

ds2 is now the proud owner of a pair of shoes . We went to the shoe shop after lunch for them and he looks ever so grown up in them.

hoxtonchick · 09/10/2006 19:51

oooh, v excited for you daf. i am occasionally broody but giving all my baby stuff away as fast as poss....

don't they look adorable in shoes. to my shame, dd has 3 pairs of boots . all from tk maxx though, & the same price as 1 pair from clarks. well that's what i'm telling dp .

Beccadillo · 09/10/2006 21:06

hello - my two are very close together (15months) and I am quite bonkers as a result. It is sort of easier and harder now, as dd is 2.5 and understands a lot, but ds is 1 and a bit, and is speedy and fearless, so I do spend days just running around like a headless chicken (but who doesn't..)

btw Hub, I forgot to add that I love your Ultimate Predictability trademark

DD's sleep regresses yet again. It felt as though she was up most of the night last night. And DS2 couldn't sleep either as he had nightmares and needed the Talking Cure so DH and I are exhausted. She isn't eating much atm either which I'm sure doesn't halp and feeds on me frantically during the night - like a newborn almost.

AND we have builders in again, not doing anything particularly drastic but it messes up my already flimsy routine. I think once I have let them in tomorrow I'll just get out and stay out of their way. I'm in a rush to get to anything as I'm always detained by phone calls and questions from the lot of them.

Good swim today with DD though.

Bagpuss, I will re-open the Exit Pass Negoations as it would be lovely to see you and DS2. Everyone is so busy with activities in the evening that it's v hard to palm the boys off with anyone these days, so I need to try and rope in DH. Unless I can persuade you to come over this direction? (and Lulumama too).

not bought shoes for Babylulu - she does totter about holding one finger ...but won;t walk alone...stood for a couple of seconds then sat down ...2 weeks ago and didn;t do it again

do you think shoes will help her walk> we have wooden floors - she might be finding it too slippy ?

any thoughts??

lulumama · 10/10/2006 19:46

oooh..did i hear a suggestion of a meet up??!
