That's a nice website, HC. Maybe I'll suggest one of those dolls as a present from the grandparents. I hadn't realised how difficult I would find it to get out of trains/lightsabres/plastic poo mode

Bagpuss, DD is knocking any broodiness out of me at the moment! DH is more broody than I am which is a first for us .

Good luck Daf! Hope all goes well. can't quite believe you are having another baby already!

Glad to hear things are improving Mrs D.

Things that ds like to play with - anything that's not a toy of course . He loved playing with some money - 2 pence pieces (I know choking hazard) at my parents the other day. He posted them all down the front of his dungarees and then ran around making noises from his trouser leg! In fact posting things in general is good fun so am going to get some sort of toy post box for Christmas. Quite likes dd's dolls which is good as she doesn't play with them much... and just whatever toys are lying around from the other two.

3rd child speech syndrome definately the case here - no talking yet, just lots of noises, awful at times!

Definately not at all organised for Christmas as usual but we've had all colds etc all at different times and dd and ds2's sleep patterns are all knocked out so they were still up at 11.30pm last night and ds1 had a big tantrum about going to bed so in desparation he ended up in my bed. I have managed to clear the table in the LR for the tree which is giong up on Friday. Still got all my families presents to wrap (got to buy some still) before family party on Sunday, buy cards and write them.... arghh. AND do ones for school friends and nursery friends, what a pain.

dh has bought us a dishwasher from his Christmas bonus.

I'll look out for your birth announcement DaF. Just in case I don't get back on before Christmas.... Merry Christmas everyone. We are staying in Christmas Day and Boxing Day - hooray probably stay in my pyjamas. Going to see Santa at a wildlife park Christmas eve and going out for meal with my parents on 27th (carer will look after the children at the attached soft play area) so for once I can actually SIT DOWN!!!

merryberry · 12/12/2006 21:17

sticks head over parapet and wonders if she's welcome back

merryberry · 12/12/2006 21:29

Wotcha. WASSUUUUUPPPP????

New babies?
July 2005 toddlers thriving?
Pictures?
Xmas shopping?
H2D, saw you asking about life on west v. east coasts during a previous flying visit. are you moving?

Me and mine:

  • no wireless enabled home machine due to new work security
  • dp working really hard at home on his
  • me not PG, planning to try mid-year next year.
  • hope to move house march-april, mortgage approved, vendor has new place to go, specialist roofing report awaited before we exchange.
  • ds a joy. I even like the tantrums, think they are fascinating. Slow to walk, just now started, quick to communicate and understand some tricky stuff.
  • flipside of all that is work is an arse. am getting deskilled
  • nanny likley to leave us mid-january.
  • result of confluence of much of above: likley to resign on Monday, stop work mid-Feb, SAHM until moved, set up new childcare, WAHM for dp's company

Ooooooooooh. Seems more real now I've written it down. I hope I get to spend more time online now dp getting quieter in Xmas run up.

Bagpuss30 · 13/12/2006 08:34

Welcome back MB, I was wondering where you had got to .

Good luck with resignation, house move etc, have to dash as battery on laptop not charged, sorry for flying post!!

merryberry · 13/12/2006 11:08

helloo BP, great to 'see' you, xx

DiamondsAreForever · 13/12/2006 13:49

Hi all,
well, no baby yet, I'm now a week overdue and still no signs really of any movement! I've got another week to go probably before they sunroof me again. Bummer!
still, I've now done all my Christmas cards, presents and wrapping, just in case I end up staying in hospital- if they do a c-section then I might not be out until Christmas eve/day, which would be such a shame.

hello again mb- nice to hear from you!

anyway, off to eat curry or something in a desperate bid to get this boy out! catch up soon! x

We are getting dd a pop up tunnel for Christmas- she loves them! other faves at the moment are her rocking bear (from igloo kids- it's gorgeous) and her 'babies'- two tommee tippee dress-up dolls, which she absolutely adores and wails if they are left behind! I bought her a little baby care kit from Tchibo and she just loves feeding/bathing the babies, she even winds them and puts them to bed every night. Bless!

mrsdarcy · 13/12/2006 19:41

Hello Merryberry . Lovely to see you.

Bah, DaF. I'll eat a curry for you. Don't know how I can be any more supportive. Apart from having a ghastly lumbering shag wearing a prosthetic stomach.

merryberry · 13/12/2006 21:44

Oh hello MrsD :-)

Well, DaF if we are volunteering to help with the induction activities, I bagsie the sex.

I'm toddling off to give DP that special glint. If he can see it over the comedy awards excitement.

TTFN, xx

DiamondsAreForever · 15/12/2006 20:58

where's my damn baby?!!!

I've had a sweep this morning so hopefully things will get moving in the next few days, the lovely consultant had a good feel and baby's legs are right up in my chest and his head is well engaged- so that accounts for the fact that my bump is still quite high- it's just full of baby!

I still amazingly want to go for a VBAC- even though he's a right old whopper. But am booked in for a c-section next Thursday if nothing happens in the meantime. So please everyone get bonking in a group effort to get me started!

dd was really quite adorable tonight when I went to give her a goodnight cuddle- she sat on my knee and pointed out my ears, nose, mouth and eyes naming each one perfectly- then grabbed my cheeks and gave me a big kiss, flopped in my arms and fell fast asleep. Honestly, she's such good value for money at the moment!

catch up soon x

merryberry · 15/12/2006 21:36

think i'm too old and settled in my ways for any "bonking in a group" DaF, even for your sweet sake...

well that's how i read it first time you see.

Eulalia · 16/12/2006 20:18

at "bonking in a group" DaF. Your dd sounds lovely, make the most of just her these last few days. Hope something happens soon!

My dd was 15 days late so know how you feel! I started taking my labour bag everywhere with me and was sick of packing and unpacking my slippers.

Currently wrapping presnets for family party tomorrow fortified with large glass of red wine.

mrsdarcy · 19/12/2006 20:59

No news from DaF! I keep checking the birth announcements.

hub2dee · 20/12/2006 19:37

Who's first, DAF ???

Hi mb, hope your life changes have been uploaded to a Project Plan. Good luck with it all.

Re: deskilled - do you mean you're getting worse at your job or the powers that be are making it tediously boring ? I guess you just need some nasty bug to let loose big time over Chrimbo and you'll be sorted LOL.

We're all OK. dd also a late walker mb. She'l hold onto my fingers and take steps though so doubtless in a month or two she'll be there.

It's cold and foggy and that's why I'm looking at the States. San Diego is rather warm and nice (aside from the fault line). Connecticut is at least crips instead of grey. Oh, I don't know. Will we just end up with what we know ???

Laters everybody.

webwoman05 · 21/12/2006 22:03

Hello!

Remember me? Just popped in to wish you all yuletide greetings!

We are all doing OK just never seem to have much time to "surf". Harry still hardly ever naps in the day so I really do not get any free time - can't leave him for a minute without him getting up to mischief! He's already taken two choccies of the tree, unwrapped them and eaten them and boy does he love to climb! Favourite thing at the moment is to climb up onto the kitchen table to dance (having switched the music up first of course!). All this from a little boy who isn't quite walking yet! Almost there.

We are also still breastfeeding (should I be whispering this - as some people that I know seemed shocked at this?). Anyone else in our gang? We tend to feed mornings and evenings and still enjoying it!

Can't believe DaF's new baby is almost here! Now where has the time gone?

DH has just crashed out after his work "lunch" so will take full advantage of hogging the Sky+ and catching up on some TV!

Bye for now.

xx

hoxtonchick · 23/12/2006 10:13

daf, where are yoooooooooooooooooou?

Bagpuss30 · 23/12/2006 14:47

Think daf's probably busy with her baby now - wasn't she due to have a cs on Thursday if all else failed? If so I hope you are all well daf .

Just a quick post to wish you all a very happy christmas from all of us .

DiamondsAreForever · 26/12/2006 20:32

Hello!!!
Merry Christmas everyone- hope you all had a lovely time!

So.... I've got a gorgeous little boy! I ended up having the elective c-section on Thursday and at 11am gave birth to Digby George.

So the group bonking can cease, unless you're all really enjoying it

dd is fascinated with her little brother and likes to shout at the 'little baby'- it's all going well on the whole, sleep seems to be a thing of the past but hopefully we'll all settle down soon. The only sad bit is that I can't pick dd up and she gets very upset and cries 'cuddle mummy' a lot- real heart breaking stuff. But I am feeling great on the whole and hopefully will recover quickly so I can get loads of cuddles again.

anyway, must get back to it- catch up soon, hopefully! x

merryberry · 27/12/2006 11:24

Hiya DaF, posted on t'other thread as well.

CONGRATULATIONS!

I hope you heal well and quick.

Christmas was fun. DP has been reduced to tears of laughter by a mumsnet thread - the one about the moon present and other Xmas wish lists. DS is scared of the ride-on toy we bought him. Oh well. He likes the building block train from my dad well enough.

I am in work today (note careful non-use of the phrase, 'I am working today'). Feels very odd to know I'm leaving soon. But good odd.

xx

merryberry · 27/12/2006 15:09

Oh oh oh, I meant to say I was staggered by young man on boxing day. We were in the kitchen having lunch. Dad was in the sitting room and sneezed loudly. DS said 'Dada achoo' and did the head movement for sneezing.

I didn't know they could do (mini) sentences already. You know, string words together. Let alone correctly. Wow. I want more!

DiamondsAreForever · 28/12/2006 15:42

how cute mb! and very advanced as well, we do have such talented babes!

thanks for all the good wishes, I am slowly getting used to the idea that I am now a mother of two in the space of 2 years.. how very Britney Spears of me!
and hello again webwoman!

hoxtonchick · 28/12/2006 15:45

hope it's going well daf. i found the change from 1 to 2 quite a shock & there's 3.5 years between mine .

dd said "daddy shoes" today whilst we were on our way home to show off new purchases. that's my girl! she said mummy eye the other day too. v. exciting.

merryberry · 01/01/2007 22:07
