Kitty ~ I think I need to drop the night feed How did you do that with kitten? Did you go to her and comfort or just leave her to it when she woke up by habit? He woke at 4:30am and now I know he won't have a proper breakfast as I won't have the same amount of milk by 7am. Also it took him 10 minutes to get back to sleep (a brilliant improvement from the previous 40 minutes the night before but that is still interfering with his sleep).

I went cold turkey on kitten pear, she wasn't having any for breakfast and had started deciding on two in the night instead of one but I did what you are doing essentially I did go in to reassure and poo check/ problem check but I never picked up, it did just aggrivate her more and I didn't want to rub in my boobs in her face lol, I only had to do it 2 days the third she woke up but for a minute that was all I think the first few she woke up early like 5:50/6 and I fed her then gradually I eeked that out until 7 when she wasn't waking

Oh kitty I would love him not to cry tonight but I think we've still got a way to go. He took 30 minutes to go down for his nap this morning but at least we're more on schedule today as he only napped for 30 minutes instead of the hour he did yesterday. He gave me a smile when I went in to get him after his nap, that was nice

Well, night #1 of DH being on a business trip was interesting. M decided she didn't want to go to sleep unless I was rocking her and would scream the minute I put her down. DS2 was completely wide awake and wired from being allowed to nap at school, he didn't go to sleep until 11, and DS1 was being a little B'iach with his 5.5 year old attitude. I'm so tired!

In other news, I have a placenta dehydrating in my basement

It's a side business. It's a repeat client who just had her second babe. I encapsulate them for mamas who would like it done. Easy $150!

I had to CIO with M for her nap. Having to do both school runs this week is seriously throwing off her schedule and she is exhausted but refuses to go down (and stay down) without me holding her. She only cried for 5 mins but honestly, I'm so fed up with trying to make her take a f'ing nap!

Oh bring I'm with you on that, kittens naps have all gone to pot this week and she's not a happy bunny, I thought sickness was surposed to make them sleep not fight it

Yep I'm with you with nap struggles too Bring you have lots of fingers in different pies mrs! Cooking placentas, delivering babies and juggling 3...how do you do it!! I'm slightly grossed out thinking about your basement though. It's like a cellar for women bits...yuk

Baby sleeping is the bane of my life here too. Sunday and Monday night DS had a high temp so we had to hold him all night between us but we made allowances because he was so miserable. Yesterday and last night though his temp was down and his teeth seemed ok but he would not go to sleep. Finally fell asleep at about midnight! Whenever we tried timeout him down he woke up and really cried - he never normally cries, but just gives out in the night when he wakes. Finally DH went and slept in the single bed in DS room and I had him in with me. He slept well after that. It's so weird because we never co-slept with him, ever. That's the first time.

Anyway it's making me realise that I think we should have been stricter on trying to get him to go to sleep by himself sooner. We still have to rock/bounce him to sleep and now that's becoming a total nightmare. All naps and night waking a have to be settled like this.

Aww Lor You sound like me 2 weeks ago. We got to the point that rocking wasn't working so we started taking DS for walks and then planning naps around car journeys and I started pulling my hair out with the stress of it all as baby pear was soooo crazy tired. We literally had no choice but to start CIO sleep training. I'm a firm believer that it's really important that he sleeps so that he eats well and grows well etc. I'm doing this for him as well as me but more him. That's what is getting me through this. It's not easy at all but day by day it's getting a tiny bit better. I'm sure you will find a way that will work for you very soon!

Lor I should probably add that your situation is very difficult at the moment with your bubs being poorly. Don't beat yourself up. We tried everything before CIO. I waited and waited as I wanted to try everything I could to avoid it but my little boy is a tough cookie and needs to learn self settling from scratch.

DS is in bed. Phew. Don't think I have the resolve for any crying solutions but we're going to have to do something soon to teach him to fall asleep now on his own.

LOL pear! It's not like I've got vulvas hanging from the walls in my basement! It's all a very sanitary procedure with gloves, throw away items and lots of sanitizing wipes! No blood or guts. But then again, it's not for everyone.

Ahhhh, it's all coming back to me now. I totally remember evenings and naps beginning to become hellish right around this age.
