Yikes frusso Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

We haven't "dropped" feeds, it's still very much on-demand for M. We're adding meals on top of her milk feeds though. Sleep training is tough. So hard to hear them cry. Just the psychology of them not understanding if we are coming back or not... you're a tough mama.

Yeah, sounds like teeth to me too lor Hope the thing pops through and stops giving the poor guy grief.

I got some pinky discharge the other day too. I also had what felt like ovulation pains? So who knows WTF is going on in there.

peardrop2 · 03/02/2014 20:44

Oh goodness. I thought we were all safe from AF Wink apparently not then...it's finally catching the bus up Shock I'm safe for now. I have a feeling it won't arrive until I stop bf.

I chose not to demand feed. Mainly because I work better with routines and also because I needed to to give structure to baby pear with all his reflux problems. I've been following Gina F weaning book and she says by now I need to have dropped the lunchtime feed so I have. I'm not sure it's the right thing for baby pear though if he's waking hungry in the middle of the night. He has breakfast cereal, protein lunch and dinner. I bf at 7am, 2:30pm and then half at 5:15pm and the other half at 7pm. So he's on 3 feeds now (4 including the 3:30 feed). If you're all still doing 4 feeds maybe that's a sign I need to RE-introduce lunch. Hmm.

peardrop2 · 03/02/2014 20:46

Lor - teething is so tough Hmm

peardrop2 · 03/02/2014 21:00

Kitty ~ is it just me or is it impossible to tighten the left strap on the axis car seat? I can't get it tight no matter how hard I pull. Wondering if my hair is faulty or if I have baby brain Blush

kittykatsforever · 03/02/2014 21:38

I can't say I've noticed pearBlush they seem both tight, it's one strap for both anyway so maybe it's not quite right, have you checked the back incase it's twisted maybe?
I only feed kitten 3 aday but how about instead of adding one give him more in the afternoon and before bed if he's still waking hungry? Or does he not want more? I'm a structure feeder but you know thatWink ill still give kitten a little tit bit if she's looking for it though Smile
It's defo af much more now although not a full flow, let's see how it goes, I did have bad pains a week or so back so I bet that was ov!! I think 9 months is pretty common even if your still bf from what I've read, I don't want it! < stomps feet>
Poor baby lorHmm they do suffer these tots don't they

peardrop2 · 03/02/2014 21:45

Kitty I don't have enough milk to give more in the afternoon Hmm I give him both sides at 2:30, 5:15 and 7pm. Do you mean give him one at 4pm or 6pm? If I did that I would fill up in time for tea. I do find it takes 3-4hrs to fill up again. I don't really want to start giving formula Hmm

peardrop2 · 03/02/2014 21:46

wouldn't

kittykatsforever · 03/02/2014 21:51

It was just that you said you have gave him as though it was a decision I thought rather then add one make those two up to a full iyswim, I honestly don't think you need to add any if he seems happy, is he looking for more after any feed or does he come off satisfied?maybe add a few snacks? Kitten doesn't have a lot of milk ( by choice) she often leaves it unfinished if I give her a bottle but she can eat for Britain!!

kittykatsforever · 03/02/2014 21:54

Or could you move the 2:30 one up and the 5:30 to say 1 and 4 more time between them without adding? Give a snack at 2:30 instead

bringonthetrumpets · 03/02/2014 22:14
peardrop2 · 03/02/2014 23:03

Kitty ~ sorry I'm confused. Your ideas sound good but I don't understand Blush So, drop the 2:30 and introduce a feed at 1pm and 4pm? Instead of 2:30 and 5:15pm?

peardrop2 · 03/02/2014 23:10

Oh ISWY. Instead of offering half give both sides. Yeah that might work. He doesn't ask for more. It seems enough when I'm feeding. I tend to give him both sides at 7pm. It's the 5:15 when I only give half so not to ruin his appetite for tea but perhaps that is where I'm going wrong?!

peardrop2 · 03/02/2014 23:11

Lorelei353 · 04/02/2014 02:54

3 feeds a day? I average about 8, plus 1 or 2 during the night. Shock

kittykatsforever · 04/02/2014 03:14

Ha ha I can't imagine feeding that many lor!! I've always tried to get them to feed every 3 hours in the day though, mine have hardly ever wanted more then that usually less but obviously I'd feed them if they did and they did have growth spurts for a few days then let them wake and demand at night but they've both just droped them naturally at night, tiger was 12 wks when she slept through and she never woke after that bar for 3 days just before I added abit of baby rice and kitten 11 weeks although she did have that period between 14 and 24 odd where she reverted right back and I did sleep training after that when she was on solids properly but since then she's only woken when she's been poorly and not for food, when they've been eating I sort of feed on demand as they obviously let me know when they want it but neither have really seemed to want it a lot? If kitten does now it's usually a comfort tired thing then that she actually wants milk, I did give an extra feed when she was poorly a few weeks ago but then when I gave her her bottle in the afternoon she pretty much left it all and did the same the next day, I don't know if it's because we've always done a lot and so they are distracted maybe? I know tiger was in nursery at 9 months last time and she went in having 3 and by about a few weeks/ month shed lost the afternoon one aswell as you can see by the time I have a poorly baba Sad

kittykatsforever · 04/02/2014 03:16

Pear if it seems enough at the time it probably is, I doubt you giving him more now will make a difference to the night, it's more if they were sleeping better then start waking for more you know they are hungry, it sounds like he eats well in the day it's probably a comfort thing at night and habit that he's always had it enjoyed it Wink

Oh yes totally normal, I hopeyou didn't think I ment they should be on less, I worry abit kitten doesn't have enough as she doesn't finish what I give her and I don't give her lots but I can't force her, if she ever lunges for my boobs I always give her them but it's just not that often but she proper demands food like really shouts at me while trying to make a grab for it!
Do you think nursery will effect how he demands frus? Not having the same acses and lots going on?

I've had a shit night, and it's definatly af Hmm

DS is a snacker alright. He gets thirsty after all his crawling around the flat and will power feed for about 3 mins and then be off. One of my NCT friends couldn't believe a) he wanted feeding about an hour after lunch b) how much he was really gulping it down and c) how short the feed was.
