Ok. I'll keep the goat over on my side of the yard. He shall be named Cornelius and he will love to be brushed Grin The deer and the sole goat will be great friends! The kids can just brush the small cloven hoof-animals all day.

I hate it when friends have other friends. At least I know that my DS1 and our family friends' DD1 have decided that they will get married and are already inseparable when together so I have that long-term security in my favour!

M is a little bum-scooter. She has managed to bum-scoot her way around the living room this morning. No standard hands and knees crawling yet, but eek! she's getting mobile.

Agnu, I'm sorry it's hard for you right now. I hope the side effects end quickly so that you can start to feel better. Hugs and chocolate for you!!

Poor little kitten. Hope she is better too, Kitty. It sucks trying to take care of sick kids!

Yuck, I hate that feeling frusso Trying to get shit done but have the background noise of a fussing kid. Urgh. Hope he's in a better mood for you today!!

Poor poorly kitten Hmm

Lorelei353 · 02/02/2014 19:52

Poor kitten.

I could live with a goat in our commune.

AGnu · 02/02/2014 21:57

Hmmm... Ok, maybe you can have a goat. Just keep it away from me! Wink

I genuinely thought I was being odd to be put out that she had other friends she wanted to chat to! I had no idea it was a normal thing to feel! I thought I was weird & selfish & stalkerish! Blush Nice to know I'm the only person who thinks I'm completely bonkers! The afternoon sobbing afterward might have been a leetle OTT though!

I'm feeling a little more 'normal' whatever that is today. Really sleepy though. I do need to pull myself together now. DH is starting to show the strain he's been under while I've been wallowing. He had a major meltdown this evening when he went to cook dinner & couldn't find the fish. The only explanation we can think of is that it got left by the checkout but he went a bit obsessive about it as if someone had died! We had fishfingers. It was fine. His sense of humour about the whole thing is coming back now but I genuinely thought he was about to cry! Confused

Sorry to hear about the ill/grumpy children! It can't be long until cold/flu season is over & we get a month of 2 without constant runny noses!

Wine & Cake for everyone tonight! Smile

Glad to hear you're levelling out a bit AGnu Sounds like it's been tough all round in your house. Hope you're feeling a bit more yourself soon.

peardrop2 · 03/02/2014 03:30

Agnu ~ good that you can share what you're going through. It sounds really stressful but also sounds like you're in control which is good long term Smile also, quite good that DH is at least expressing himself in some form so you know that he's finding it tough too. All DH's have their moments so don't feel too guilty. Mine has to put up with my hormonal moods all the time Grin Lately I've been terrible with bursts of emotions swearing because I'm just so damn tired or hungry all the time Smile Today I snapped and I had to say sorry I'm just so tired and DH replied "I know" so I guess parenting is just hard no matter what the situation is. Hope I'm helping? Probably not!

I am up because of painful Pami boobs. Baby pear has been sleeping since 8pm when he stopped CIO and eventually fell asleep on his own. So, he's missed the dream feed and now maybe even the 3am ish feed! Does this mean he doesn't actually need the 2 feeds? The dream feed I can believe as he hardly takes any but I find it hard to believe he doesn't need both! Oh he's waking Smile

Oh frus big hugs I'm dreading having to go back to work, a few hours freedom is a novelty but when you know it's starting back on the route to work it's very sad

Pear your not going for the band aid then and cutting off his supply for the night?Wink

Lorelei353 · 03/02/2014 13:52

frus how you holding up? I popped into my office last week to discuss reduced hours (chat went well) and mentioned doing some keeping in touch days. The next day my manager rang to say my replacement has resigned! He was kind of begging me to do a KIT day on the Thursday before Easter as it's our busiest day of the year. It'll be so weird! I'll do a few half days before then, and it's good to have a test day to work towards, but I'll find it hard.

Today however I'm spending the day holding a very clingy baby with a raised temperature. Poor baba.

bringonthetrumpets · 03/02/2014 14:14

Oh wow Pear, so the CIO worked? How did it go over all?

Oh frusso Sad It gets harder with each kid doesn't it? It's like you know that they are small for only so long and that they actually need you until a certain point. Maybe it'll be easier when you are actually working and staying busy instead of rattling around the empty house? I really need to get on the ball of finding someone to watch M when I go back on-call. EEK. I hate this part.

Hope little guy is ok lor !!

Aww, I know exactly what you mean. This time is way, way harder to anticipate leaving for what could potentially be a couple of days.

peardrop2 · 03/02/2014 15:55

Bring ~ still early days Hmm he woke at 3:30, I fed him and changed him and then put him back at 4am. He cried for 20 minutes. Day naps today have been non existent. He's been crying for 40 minutes now :-( The book says pick him up after 60 minutes. I think I've made the mistake of not going in to reassure him this time but It's just that when I did that last night it made him so much worse so I had to leave him to it and now that I've left him to it 3 times shouldn't I stick to that method?! It's so hard Hmm

Kitty ~ no I couldn't rip the plaster off. He made his hunger noises at 3:30. I am confident he doesn't need the dream feed so I made the decision not to wake him up for that but in the middle of the night he genuinely seems hungry. I don't think he's taking enough at breakfast. Maybe I've dropped his lunch milk too soon? It's so hard to know where I'm going wrong. Perhaps if I RE-introduce lunch tomorrow that might help?

Oh finally it looks like he's settled for his nap now after 43 minutes. Omg he's one tough cookie! Shock

peardrop2 · 03/02/2014 16:24

Frus ~ I think you're doing amazingly well as it must be really really hard. I can only imagine as I'm not there yet. Especially for you as it's your last baby maybe I would be a mess leaving my koala right now.

Your not doing anything wrong pear, it is tough whatever you do you will contradict yourself and worry you should have done differently
Kitten is best with no contact too, when I did sleep training she was the same and even now when she's been waking the last few days coughing if I go in it seems to aggravate the situation and the crying gets worse

kittykatsforever · 03/02/2014 17:27

Frus- I wouldn't want to be your dh when you get your hands on him! Does he know you paid in full??

I've just had some pinky discharge Shock is this the start of the return Hmm

Lorelei353 · 03/02/2014 18:40

Oh no kitty!

Pear are you actively dropping feeds? ds is on three meals a day but I'm still bf on demand. Not sure if it's too much but his weight had dropped a bit so I reckon it's fine. plus he's SO active I think he burns it all off.

Temp is 38.8 now. pretty sure it's teething though. something's coming and he won't let anything near his mouth.
