Numero 8!

Hoping for some actual sleep tonight!

I don't know if I can sleep. Can't get the picture of placentas hanging from the ceiling out of my mind :-)

Hahahaha, I don't think my DH would be up for letting me go that far. Try to put it out of your mind. I promise I won't come after you with a placenta. grin

I pray that tonight (night #2 sans partner in crime) will go better than last night. I wanted to cry last night sad

Ahhh you should tell him that work have requested that you start storing them in a new way and that they now need to be hung upside to preserve more efficiently grin You'd have to have a brilliant poker face for that porky wink

Just checking into the new bus! Hope everyone manages some sleep tonight! Even Runt has decided that sleep isn't necessary! I think he's hit a growth spurt phase. He must've fed at least 4 times between 9pm & 9am. I definitely remember 3.30am & then there would've been the evening breastfeed, the pre-bed bottle & the early morning feed...! He seems to have decided that from about 5am onwards he has to be either attached or just tucked into my armpit. If I try to shift him the foot or so to his area of the bed he'll wake up & grizzle until I feed him back to sleep! <Yawn> I don't mind too much really. I still get to sleep in until at least 8.30 most days! But then we rarely get to bed before about 1am!

No idea what's upsetting him now - he's been fussy all evening. I thought it was because we had a few people from church round & he was just a bit disturbed but he did 2 really smelly tiny little sicks on me while they were here & now DH is trying to settle him upstairs & he's really sad! No temp or anything though. Maybe we'll be seeing teeth soon! Calf was 10 months I think. He seemed to do everything at either 8 or 10 months! I remember being concerned that everyone else's babies had numerous teeth & mine didn't even have one! Runt's far too busy developing in other ways to worry about teeth though. He spent most of the evening tilting his head from side to side to get one of our visitors to copy him! grin Sooo cute! Calf has only recently learnt to do that! hmm

No worries, M doesn't have any teeth yet either (thank god!).

Must be an age thing then. This too shall pass.... I must keep telling myself that...

With DH being gone, our whole normal schedule is off-whack now and she falls asleep in the car on the way to drop them off at 8 instead of her normal nap time at 10 and then she wants to sleep again over lunch instead of after lunch and she's a grizzly bear until bedtime at 6:30, of which then she finds other things that are more exciting like pulling on my poor nipple than going to sleep. <Le SIGH>

Just checking in with my two coughy snotty kids, le sigh indeed!!

Frusso Thu 06-Feb-14 09:02:38

agnu the armpit position sounds familiar. Although I did manage to sneak my frozen arm back under my dovet at least twice. He just wants to be touching me, and sometimes holding his hand will do. Just not very often
Well he is asleep now. I should really put him down, since that is why I got him a rocker, what's the betting he wakes up?

Frusso Thu 06-Feb-14 09:04:46

And he's back on the boob. Le sigh

New bus!

Well, a bit more sleep last night. DS went down as normal until 9.30 when he woke up screaming crying. Wouldn't be settled at all. Eventually fed him at 11.30 and he went back down until 5.30 for a feed and then 7.30. So not bad over all. Just could live without the screaming. Think it's partially upset from he teething and partially developmental? He finds it hard to switch off at the best of times and there might be stuff going on in his head now.

Frusso Thu 06-Feb-14 13:14:25

I think it must be developmental lore as all the bus babies seem to be doing it.
Ds is asleep in his rocker!

Totally developmental. I now know why I blanked this part out of the lives of the other two, it's kinda hellish! Stupid mother nature making us think we want more kids and make us forget the shit our kids put us through!

How bad is it that I'm actually really really liking the time off from DH? hmm

Frusso Thu 06-Feb-14 16:33:10

That's totally normal too bring I'd love time off from dh.

Frusso Thu 06-Feb-14 19:13:50

Oh dear, I feel ill. It's all my own fault. I ate rather too much an entire shepherds pie. blush I should learn to stop eating.

Managed to get kitten to have her long nap today, atleast 2+ hours this morning so very pleased!! She was pretty good last night too and woke a few times but not for long and I didn't need to get up, can't wait to get rid of the illness!

peardrop2 Thu 06-Feb-14 22:03:27

Yay for the good sleepers on the bus!

Baby pear has been feasting on fish pie after an action packed crawling day in our lounge smile

Kitten, last night brilliant, heard a few coughs nothing else, tiger decided at midnight that she needed new Jim jams and a new nappy confused she hadn't wet them, just decided!
How was baby pear last night?
Can't believe all the babies are crawling bar kitten I think? She just spins round and round lol

Frusso Fri 07-Feb-14 08:43:11

<yawn> ds spent almost the entire night on the boob, and had such a wet full nappy this morning to prove it. How on earth do you drop a continuous night feed?
I have a busy morning to try and get things done on an inset day and with dcs and flood warnings still in place. And I need to get a specific my little pony plush. Eep.

Lorelei353 Fri 07-Feb-14 09:27:07

Phew! Better night here. DS went down at 7.40, got up precisely 30 mins later for another feed (as usual) then went down for the evening. No screaming. grin Unfortunately he then got up at 12.15 and then 4.30 but not a bad night overall.

peardrop2 Fri 07-Feb-14 09:36:31

Kitty ~ I do love hearing your tiger stories even though to you they sound like a nightmare! I wonder whether baby pear will demand the same thing one day smile

I'm very proud of baby pear today. Last night was night 5 and he cried 3 minutes at 7pm and 1 minute at 3:30am. Great improvement!

Frus ~ ouch your night sounds painful hmm

Lor ~ really confused. Sounds like your baby goes down fine so why the concerns the other day? Or was last night just a fluke?

That's a great time pear! He's really got it now hasn't he grin did you still feed him the once?
Frus that boys got you just where he wants you hasn't he grin little monkey
Lor the wake up quite soon after they go down ( usually 40/45 mins ) is when they are making the transgression from a light sleep to heavy sleep, that's when they learn to self settle rather then want anything,
Kitten has just allowed me 30 mins on my own while she was in her jumperoo!! This is unheard if while asleep, I'm lucky to make it to one room before she squeels, I got to clean the kitchen and have a shower although the cats were with her and she does love those cats!

Lorelei353 Fri 07-Feb-14 10:31:54

pear he actually usually goes down fine! but at night is fed to sleep and then has to be held until in a deep sleep. During the day must be bounced on a fit ball or rocked to sleep. Again he has to be deeply asleep before you can out him down.

This week he's been a nightmare so I was worried this was the start of a bad phase. Every time something like that happens it just frustrates me that he can't go to sleep by himself in his bed.

peardrop2 Fri 07-Feb-14 10:38:38

Yes Kitty, day 5 and he's finally learning TG! I've seen such an improvement in his mood during the day too (yesterday). I'm so pleased for him. It's really lovely not to be frustrated with him and actually be able to solve his problem rather then battle with him in the day and then resent myself for giving in and not actually helping us both long term. I'm feeling really relieved today as I guess there was a big part that thought it wouldn't work for us. Phew smile Awww you see it's a plus that kitten isn't on the move yet! Since being more active baby pear refuses to go in his jumparoo. I'm not sure if it's the norm but I guess it makes sense. Why would you want to jump up and down when you could be practising your crawling skills?! Enjoy your free hands while it lasts wink

peardrop2 Fri 07-Feb-14 10:42:05

Oh and yes I did still feed him at 3:30am. I need to tackle that one next hmm He didn't even take much. It was a definite comfort thing and when I collected him at 6:50 his nappy and clothes were soaked through so I really should have changed him too. I think there is a tiny maybe big part of me that is clinging onto this 1 last night feed blush

peardrop2 Fri 07-Feb-14 10:42:46

Lor ~ ahh ok I understand now.
