rrreow, yes, Amy is going to teeth any day now and she's just over 7 weeks. It's her lower front where they're on the way through. Watch this space here too!

Sunbeam, I'm sure it's only because you felt conspicuous that you feel like that. Like others said, I'm sure nobody paid attention.

Pink, sounds so relaxing. Not! Bet you're glad to be back!

Gaaarg just woke up after a horrible nightmare and had to poke baby to check she is ok. Shes been asleep since 9.30 and my boobs are leaking everywhere they are so full. Serves me right for going to zumba last night and getting DH to do bedtime.

Oh no sunny but glad baby is ok

Theiah's been a pickle tonight after last nights 10.25-4.45 tonight she's woke me at 2 and 5.10 not impressed! But she's obviously hungry as she's polished off 2 5oz bottles so fingers crossed shell sleep a bit nowGrin very tired

Report
SunnyL · 14/08/2013 05:57

I gave in and woke her up as she'd been asleep for 8.5hrs. Perhaps it was her jags which she had yesterday. Did anyone elses LOs sleep lots after their immunisations?

I can't believe others are noticing teething too I thought I was going bad. Ds is very dribbly and constantly gumming his fingers. Chewing dummy like mad and gone off feeding from me (takes bottle fine).
I thought 8 wks was too young?

Littlemissexpecting · 14/08/2013 08:35

Sunny we gave ds first bottle last night before bed. I woke at 2.30 feeling like I had a pair of volcanoes on my chest waiting to erupt! Filled both breast pads!

AmIGoingMad · 14/08/2013 10:05

All these long sleep stretches- wow! When did they start? We're 6 wks today and I'm hoping it starts soon as initial signs of 5 hour stretches were fleeting!

Sunbeam that sounds awful! Like others have said I'm sure people didn't notice.

Pinkbear that trip sounds... Interesting! And most definitely not relaxing!

We had to go back to docs yesterday with sticky eyes and now have drops instead of cream thank goodness!

DH away with work overnight today so that'll be interesting!

In positive news- tried my pre pregnancy jeans on today and they fit! Yey! I'm much more comfy in leggings tho so that's what I'm wearing- again! I can also drive again! Woo hoo! Shame its raining- so much for planned trip to the park!

Report
pinkbear82 · 14/08/2013 10:20

Ami woohoo for being able to drive again, I don't drive but can imagine once you do suddenly not having that freedom is very frustrating!! I'd be tempted to just go for a drive anyways.

Saw my mum last night and while changing nappy she too asked if there was teething going on as very rosey cheeks - top and bottom and dribble city.
Someone mentioned teething gel, I think dentonox (sp?) can be used from birth, I did have a tube in just in case and mental dog decided to chew it. But might be worth checking out.

Mammoth lazy day here. Blanket on sofa still in pjs. And I plan on staying like it.

You've all got me paranoid about teething, poor J has had my finger running round his gums this morning!

He's been a bit weird this morning - woke him for 7am feed but would only take 50ml, and that with some fighting, and then slept till 9am (usually he'd be awake till 830am, then sleep till 1030am for second feed at 11am). Just tried some more bottle at 1045am and he took 80ml and again has fallen straight to sleep. And he seems a bit more sooky than he normally is.

Not sure what it could be. His temperature is fine, he's smiley in between times.

really not doing well at keeping up here but I am very much lurking

we're starting to get a little bit of a routine here. putting ethan down at about 7 with a feed doing a dream feed when we go up to join him in the bedroom at about 10, he stays down till between 2 and 3 then about 6. Apparently daytime naps are for wimps and not something we do.

ethan is super vocal which is really cute and super smiley too no sign of teething here which im secretly glad about he will gum the bottle a bit at times but that's the extent of it

looks like you're all doing well. will try to check in a little more often

So we braved the tube for the first time today. Remarkably easy! Flat access at our end, lift at London bridge. All good. Feel adventurous!

It's good isn't it Sarah?! I did H&C to Ladbroke Grove the other day. People helped getting pram down steps, then we bush-bashed our way through the Portobello crowds.

Back at baby swim today, lesson 6. Bit disappointing J hasn't grown actual fins yet.

rrreow · 14/08/2013 13:23

Yay Sarah that's great! Did you manage to get a sling from the library the other week? Public transport is even easier when babywearing. I've just returned a Didymos which I got on with so well that I'm going to buy one for myself. I can easily wear it for hours, go for long walks etc. And I'd usually describe myself as someone with a dodgy back.

Sunny, yes I've heard they sometimes sleep for ages after their jabs. Unfortunately not the case for us, but he seems well otherwise. Glad he's not suffering the way I did when I got the WC jab while pregnant, I was in a lot of pain for nearly a week!

For anyone who has teething babies Ashton & Parsons powder is actually amazing (like gold dust though, I had to find it online.)

Olimoss - I took DD1 to Aquatots baby swimming from 8 weeks... She's nearly 3 now and still can't swim!! Brilliant for water confidence though so I'm starting DD2 in a couple of weeks.

Started signing her up for loads of stuff to get a bit of a routine going. Baby massage, Gymboree, the swimming and baby yoga.

Can't remember who it was that said they're in pre pregnancy jeans!! But I'm so so envious, I think I'm going to be in leggings forever!

DD1 is getting really interested in the baby finally, she's cleared her a small edge of shelf in 'her' playroom for her toys... Very generous Wink

I know I shouldnt say this - it will be completely silly of me but......we started following the E.A.S.Y routine from the baby whisperer today and it worked! Perfect baby all day - she even slept in her cot twice! Not sure if it's just a hangover from having her injections yesterday but if it works I'm totally sold on that book!

can I ask what toy's etc you have and what is popular with your babies ? we have a play mat, a ball with music and light and a soft rattle but that is all.
I think we need more stuff to entertain him but don't know what.

Steffanoid · 14/08/2013 20:52

We've got a play gym a lamaze Freddie firefly which ethan loves cause of the colours I think and rustles and we've got a seahorse with a light up belly and lullabies which I use at night time

pinkapples · 14/08/2013 21:17

We have a play mat with things dangling down from it that entertains Theiah most of the time we have a bouncer starlight chair from mamas and papas but she's not keen on that we just keep trying then she has 3 of the Lamaze toys (dragon/lion/Emily doll and the horse) that's it tho for now would be interested to see what everyone else's babies are playing with
We're looking at getting Theiah a mirror as she is fascinated by mine in the bedroom when she catches herself in it

Curious yes Ashton and parsons are truly amazing! They are like gold dust though. I was told its because the bloody drug dealers are using it as a way to stretch their supply out. Madness! The evil gits!

Did go for a drive today and it felt good!

We have a taf toys playmat, a woozit, some Lamaze toys, a cute tommee tippee mirror thing etc- all from DS! Dd isn't hugely interested in them at the moment but does seem to be warming to them!

Report
curiousgeorgie · 14/08/2013 22:54

Sephy doesn't seem very interested in toys. She has a playmat with toys hanging, mobiles in crib, cot & above swing, and a few Lamaze toys but just ignores all of them.

I did put her car seat in front of jake & the neverland pirates earlier (my older DD was watching) while I got bags from the car and it held her attention for about 15 minutes so I'll definitely be trying that again!

We're having the evening from hell tonight, after getting into something of a routine over the past week or so she's been crying pretty much solidly since 7 and even though she seems starving, is just spitting all the milk out the side of her mouth.

Just read in my confirmation email that its 'absolutely essential' to bring a travel changing mat to baby massage tomorrow... Realised I don't have one. I figured I'd just take a towel / old blanket or muslin.. But then it goes on to say also bring three towels, a blanket and some muslins so I'm ill prepared as always! Wink

Georgie sorry your having a bad night. I hope it improved for you.
We had a manic 4-6am, had to get bottle as ds hungry but refusing breast. Seems ok now.
Regarding toys, we have a basic bouncy chair which is great for putting him in if he is calm while I need to do something, such as cook dinner or put shopping away, or getting dressed after shower.
We have a fancy swing/bouncer chair someone bought us that rocks or vibrates with music that he's not bothered with. A play mat/baby gym that we maybe have 5-10 mins on mainly looking at the little mirror. Started showing some interest in a rattle but not for long. Hoping as he gets older his attention span improves

Hmmm fell out with DH overnight about 'empty promises of help'. He keeps saying he wants to do feeds at night but he no longer wakes up when she does. Last night he didnt even bother making a bottle up. So apparently i was meant to wake him up and send him downstairs to get a bottle while the baby screamed beside me. Yeah cos that would be lovely and a great help for me.

He's taken baby and dog out for a walk while i stew.

Oh dear Sunny. What a knob. And, he should be able to take baby down with him!
