I have a horrible feeling mine are back, already bled twice after the initial bleed and now spotting and cramps. I thought bf was supposed to mean no periods not having them every two weeks. Sad

Miscalculated it will be 4 weeks on Wednesday Hmm but I think it's coming to an end now

I have an apt with the consultant with my stitches on the 10th sept but Theiah's first swimming lesson is the 8th sept... Opinions on whether I could swim or not?

Oh god it's been a long day. I have no idea what was wrong with the little girl but she pretty much screamed all day and fed every hour. She passed out very quickly after her bath tonight so was in bed by 8 but woke up within 15 minutes and I've been listening to her grumbling over the monitor for the last 1hr45 minutes. According to the ruddy app she is meant to be exiting the grumpy phase any day now. Fat ruddy chance I reckon.

It's all made worse by DH being on night shift so I've got to creep around all morning, then in the afternoon when he got up he tried to take over but she wanted nothing to do with him and now it's my turn again. Rubbish.

Morning all - yet again I've not had a chance to catch up on the thread for a few days - sorry, I'm a very bad thread member.

Hope everyone us doing ok?

Joe has become a bit of a minor miracle and is now off all reflux meds, total med-free. Surgeon is absolutely stoked with him, it's aces.

I rewarded poor Joe by deciding it was time to try a proper routine, and he subsequently rewarded me by bring a dream. He's in definite 4-hrly during day, a dream feed at 1030pm which gets him through to 330am usually, then a quick top up and I'm this morning going to have to wake him at 7am to start the day.

Bloody brilliant! Not that I could moan he's been awful prior but clearly he was ready to go longer between feeds. He should now stop putting on weight so fast, which was starting to concern us all. He's 13 lb, was 7lb2oz at birth (gone from 25th to 60th centile) but think that's cause he was eating 8 times a day. Down to six now.

So Tizzie Hall 'Save Our Sleep' was what I used. I say 'used', I mean ignored everything but the bit I wanted.

We've booked a trip to Morocco in October ... staying in a nice villa so assuming all should be on. Do you think there is anything in particular I should take? I guess I should give him only water I have boiled myself? Or do you reckon taking pre-made formula easiest? We are there a week, it'll weigh a ton!

Apologies for me-me-me post. Will go back read the thread now, before I get J up.

Ah I see my boasting bout J's sleep was poorly timed - apologies! If its antyconsolation I'm STILL bleeding ... def not period. Boyfriend despairs of ever getting lucky again !

Mrs Bri - we definitely found when J was your daughter's age that he had moments of constipation, not helped by fact he had to have Gaviscon with every feed. We got the Aptimil Comfort & he's been fine since, to the extent that now, at 10+5 we are reintroducing 'normal' formula.

Now he's not on Gaviscon we've been having some quite frankly amazing ( and intimidating) crap-filled nappies.

Good luck!

MrsBri · 12/08/2013 07:38

That's excellent news re Joe, Oli.

I'd have thought that boiled water would be fine, and that's what I'd do. You'll need one lot of your baggage allowance for the formula otherwise!

The comfort milk does seem to have released Amy's bowels somewhat! We've been getting one ENORMOUS smelly nappy a day. I know what you mean by intimidating.

We've put her back on the Gaviscon as well as she started grunting and flailing at night again without it, so was clearly suffering in some way.

Have you been to your GP about the bleeding, Oli? It does sound frustrating.

I've now stopped with all lochia and we resumed DTD yesterday. A quickie on the lounge floor while Amy slept. Classy and romantic. :-) Can I just say that condoms are hideous. But better than any other non hormonal alternative.

I really want to have a period, as strange as that seems, as I want my body to return to its usual state.

With regards to fingernails, we've cut and filed Amy's. She did take a chunk out of her nose on Saturday night though, sadly, so I filed them again yesterday, which is up there as a task with clothes that have buttons on the back. Who thought either was a good idea for a baby?

She's still having her longest sleep between about 9-2, which isn't ideal. I'd prefer midnight-5, but never mind!

Sorry to people I've missed. It's a pain being on the phone!

Well mrsbri.....we also dtd on the lounge floor whilst dd1 was having a nap upstairs and dd2 was asleep on the floor (infact I think dd2 was probably conceived on the very same floor!!) Parenthood is soooo glamorous x

Oof thats better. LO made up for being mean by sleeping 10-5 and then on til 8.30. So i'm recharged and hopeful its going to be a better day. Shes just beamed at me when i went to pick her up so fingers crossed.

Oli we're looking at booking either Greece or Lanzarote end of sept. Are you taking your whole pram? I think LO will be too small for buggy still?

We've been DTD in the spare room. DH has tried it on when Lily was in the basket next to us but it felt weird so we're decamping when the mood takes us. YY to condoms being horrid. Im back on the pill now though and will be getting the implant next week.

Quick Q - how is eveeyones pelvic floor? I went running yest and felt like i was peeing myself the whole time Blush

Our angel baby has also gone missing. My ds who never cried, fed well and had good routine (ish) has gone and been replaced by a baby who won't sleep during day, cries all day, and really fussing at breast. I have lost all sense of what he wants now. Tried infacol and dummy is helping but he will fall asleep in my arms then wake up after 10mins screaming. Not sure what it is, possibly griping tummy, really not sure if its just a phase but its exhausting for me. Looks like I'm getting nothing done again today, I can't bear to take him out when he's like this. Got first jabs this week can't imagine they will help!

MrsBri · 12/08/2013 10:56

Ah, Madame, I just showed your post to DH! It's all glamour, isn't it?!

Sunny, that's good that angel baby appears to be back :-) Amy appears chirpier now, but she has awful painful farts. We're starting the Infacol again today to see if that helps. It's all trial and error, isn't it?

And pink, not so good re your little one regressing. :-/

Re swimming, if you're still bleeding I'm not sure if you should go. Are you using towels or tampons? If the latter then I'd go.

We are hopefully going swimming in September too.

Is anyone else going to do baby signing? We will do that after the massage classes end in October as it sounds amazing.

I'm booking yoga for September too. We're going to be busy soon :-)

And the good news is that with Housing Benefit we can just afford for me not to go back to work early, which is awesome.

Just been shopping to get a dress for Lily for her christening. It appears to be easy to buy clothes to dress your daughter up as a hooker (Next I'm looking at you) but buying a simple white cotton frock isn't that easy. Could get a mahoosive white bridesmaid dress but I didn't think it would be that appropriate for our little church on a normal Sunday morning.

Anyway mission accomplished in the surprising location of Boots the chemist. I never knew they had such nice clothes.

Great news re staying off work mrsbri!

Pinkapples- can you phone gp and ask for their advice over the phone?

I'm very jealous of all of these holidays! No such luck here but that's our own fault for not being on top of financial planning for my mat leave.

Lochia wise- I stopped after two weeks but have had a little bit back and forth. Most recent was tiny bit on say morning. I put pad on and there was no more. I bet if I hadn't put pad on then it would have started back properly!

Sleep wise E is also having her longest sleep 9-2. I need to make myself go to bed then but its nice to have 5 mins with DH. No dtd here yet with juggling DS and DD! 6 wks post section on weds which is anniversary so that would be great timing but DH is away with work! Sod's law! Am hoping to get bk on pill soon. I didn't wait for period with DS so will see what the dr says this week.

pukey baby here today, about half his feeds one or the other of us is wearing. He doesn't usually throw up but he is happy in himself so will keep an eye on it. I think he has been piggy today as has fed more than normal.

Sunny - Joe has actually been in the pram seat for a couple of weeks now - he's almost grown out of the bassinet and is too interested in the outside world to be cooped up in it. We have an iCandy Strawberrry and the seat reclines all the way and has two other more upright settings. So we just have him laying flat and he's all good. In retrospect we could probably hav gotten away with not buying the bassinet, it's only used for his daytime naps at home...

We will probably only take his carseat to Morocco though, as have a two-hour transfer from Marrakech, maybe we will bring the buggy but not the pram setr. For trips to the souk he can just squish into the carseat on the buggy I guess. Or we could take the baby carrier....we are flying Sleazyjet so prob be a massive pain in thenass to being the whole contraption.

I'm hiring a carseat for when I'm home in Oz and buying a cheapish stroller that lays flat for use over there. It'll just live there and do him for next few years on visits home.

Marking spot, am sooo behind!!

We're not introducing any form of routine yet, although I can see a pattern emerging and stretches of 5-7 hours in the night seem to be becoming the norm. Yay!!

Anyone else's baby teething already? (sorry if this has been mentioned up-thread) Z is 10 weeks on Friday and he's been gumming his hands / my fingers like crazy for the past 2 weeks or so. He's had a little bit of a molar (or maybe a canine) showing since birth. It doesn't seem to be moving, but the whole of his gums seem to be bothering him. Teething gel says from 3 months!!

Oh God - am in a cafe in my own with babe and just had totally humiliating experience. Just got coffee and cake when he started screaming. Knocked down chairs with my pram wheels when trying to get to a discreet table to feed him. Boobs out with no discretion, whole upper body showing when milk starts spraying out. Am totally mortified. He is now asleep in pram and am eating well-deserved cake!!!

Aww Sunbeam Brew I'm sure no one noticed! I'm not just saying that. I have never noticed anyone breastfeeding (apart from people who use a cover, as it's much more noticeable that that's what they're doing) ever.

Have managed to read but been manic few days! Went to dp's motocross race over the weekend, 2 adults, 2 medium children, 1 baby and 1 crazy dog in caravan, and rave going on in field next door.... I'll let you all picture just how relaxing a time that was! Shock

Been gp today as have developed a lovely cough that sounds as tho I have been smoking 100 a day my whole life (having never smoked its quite perplexing) I have asthma. Got a course of steroids and a steroid inhaler to use. Hoping they settle the cough quickly, can pretty much guarantee a coughing fit as dd settling for sleep!

Teething has been mentioned here too....watch this space.

Handle on car seat broke yesterday, considering just buying the one that goes with pram/buggy and not a new isofix/getting this one repaired at present, currently the car DP has doesn't have isofix and not sure that will be changing any time soon, and can see some perks to quick trips with car seat attached to buggy...

Hope all routines/almost routines are going well. Now dsd's are home hoping we can get back into s kind of routine!
